| 1 | Structural and luminescent properties of (Eu,Tb) PO_4·H_2O nanorods/nanowires prepared by microwave technique显示文摘Nanowires/nanorods of europium/terbium orthophosphate monohydrate with Eu3+ concentration of 6,11,and 20 at.% were prepared by microwave synthesis method.The effects of Eu3+ doping concentration on structure,morphology and optical properties of nanoma-terials were also investigated.The results showed that,for all studied Eu3+ doping concentrations,a single-crystalline phase of rhabdo-phane-type(Eu,Tb) PO4·H2O nanowires/nanorods was obtained by using microwave heating of an aqueous solution of terbium(III) nitrate,europium(III) nitrate and NH4H2PO4 with pH=2.The length and width of these nanowires/nanorods ranged from 150 to 300 nm and from 10 to 50 nm,respectively.The evidence of energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ due to the energy overlap between the donor Tb3+ and the acceptor Eu3+ was observed obviously via a significant enhancement in the luminescent intensity of Eu3+. | Nguyen Thanh Huong Nguyen Duc Van Dinh Manh Tien Do Khanh Tung Nguyen Thanh Binh Tran Kim Anh Le Quoc Minh | 2011 | Journal of Rare Earths2011,29,12: | 2 |

| 4 | Synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal mantle cell lymphoma:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare malignancy,accounting for about 0.2%of malignant colorectal tumors.MCL synchronous with rectal adenocarcinoma is extremely rare.We know of only a few cases reported in the literature.We describe the case of a patient with synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL.CASE SUMMARY A 63-year-old man was admitted to our hospital due to abdominal pain and hematochezia over the past month.The patient was diagnosed with middle rectal cancer cT2N0M0 and underwent surgery.However,we found a large tumor in the small intestine during surgery.The patient underwent total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer and resectioning of the ileal segment containing the large mass.Pathology and immunohistochemistry revealed the presence of both rectal adenocarcinoma and pathognomonic MCL stage IIE presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis.The patient subsequently underwent RDHAP/RCHOP chemotherapy and was maintained with rituximab.A Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography(PET/CT)scan showed that the disease responded well to treatment without tumor-increased metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract.CONCLUSION Synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis are extremely rare.MCL is often discovered fortuitously when rectal cancer is diagnosed.The coexistence of these tumors poses treatment challenges. | Kim-Van Vu Nguyen-Van Trong Nguyen-Thi Khuyen Do Huyen Nga Hoang Anh Nguyen Tien Trung PhamTrung Thong Nguyen Minh Duc | 2023 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2023,11,24: | 0 |
| 5 | Sediment transport trends and cross-sectional stability of a lagoonal tidal inlet on the Central Coast of Vietnam显示文摘Lagoonal tidal inlets are a typical morphology of the Central Coast of Vietnam. Recently, navigation channels in these inlets have become increasingly threatened by siltation. This study analyses the relations between sediment distribution and transport trends (using the technique of Sediment Trend Analysis-STA■) in the lagoonal system of the De Gi inlet and then proposes appropriate countermeasures against sand deposition in the navigation channel. The STA identified three types of transport trends in the De Gi inlet, namely dynamic equilibrium, net accretion, and net erosion. Processes associated with the tidal prism have resulted in trends of sediment transport and deposition across the flood and ebb tidal shoals, which maintain a present cross-sectional area of about 1000m^2. However, longshore sediment transport from north to south resulting from northeast waves cause additional sand deposition in the channel. In addition, the effects of refraction associated with a nearby headland and jetty also increase sedimentation. These processes provide the main reasons for sediment deposition in the De Gi inlet. Short term and regular dredging helps to maintain the navigation channel. | 6 | A study implementing real-time PCR to identify Strongyloides species of third-stage larvae in human stool samples from Southern Vietnam显示文摘Background:Strongyloidiasis,a neglected disease caused by intestinal nematodes of the genus,is endemic to tropical and subtropical areas such as Vietnam.Morphological methods only identify the genus,while DNA-molecular techniques are susceptible in Strongyloides spp.detection.The study aims to determine the prevalence of dominant Strongyloides species among the population in Duc Hoa district,Long An,Vietnam.Methods:A cross-sectional study used 1190 stool specimens collected from July 2017 to November 2018.All samples were transported within 2 h,stored at 2-8℃,and processed within 48 h for microscopy smear and culture at the Laboratory of Medical Parasitology,Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine(PNT).Then all positive samples with the above 2 methods were verified by real-time PCR technique.Real-time PCR amplification was conducted at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology,PNT.Results:Direct microscopy and modified Harada-Mori culture detected Strongyloides spp.larvae in 79/1190 sam-ples(6.6%).About 94.2%of the DNA samples were Strongyloides stercoralis,2.9%were co-infections with Strongy-loides ratti and S.stercoralis,and 2.9%were patients with S.ratti.The identity of 12/14 sequences was confirmed as S.stercoralis with a high level of similarity(91.3%-100%)and over 98%for S.ratti.Conclusion:DNA-molecular techniques and sequence analysis are highly suitable for identifying Strongyloides species isolated from stool samples.It is remarkable evidence of the presence of zoonosis S.ratti disease in human,not just the known S.stercoralis.It is likely to result in a certain proportion of people being infected by this animal-borne infectious pathogen. | Le Duc Vinh Nguyen Kim Thach Huynh Hong Quang Do Nhu Binh Tran Thi Duc Hanh Nguyen Minh Toàn Nguyen Trung Tuyen Nguyen Thu Huong | 2023 | Infectious Medicine2023,2,3: | 0 |
