1An improved robust stability analysis for systems with two delays by extracting overlapping feature显示文摘In this paper,a delay-dependent robust stability criterion is proposed for linear systems with two delays. For delay-dependent stable systems, the delays are very small in nature. So,they may overlap each other. This overlapping information may be exploited to obtain a less conservative criterion. To extract such information,a special type of simple Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional is considered. To derive the criterion in form of Linear Matrix inequalities,a matrix variable approach is used. Some numerical examples are presented to validate the less conservativeness of the proposed criterion.Dushmanta K.Das Sandip Ghosh Bidyadhar Subudhi 2015Journal of Control and Decision2015,2,2:3
2A research progress review on regional extreme events显示文摘An extreme (weather and climate) event does not only mean that an extreme occurs at a location, but more generally it can impact a certainarea and last a certain period of time, which is defined as a regional extreme event (REE) with a certain impacted area and duration. The conceptof REE has been defined to allow mainly objective assessment of the events without a pre-determined boundary and duration. This paper reviewsthe studies on REEs published during the past 20 years, especially recent years. Mainly in view of methodology, these studies can be divided intothree types studies focusing on spatial simultaneity, studies focusing on temporal persistence, and studies identifying REEs. The methodsidentifying REEs include two kinds, e.g., type-I methods stressing REE's temporal persistence within a relatively certain area and type-IImethods focusing on catching a complete REE. Identification methods proposed in this paper could provide valuable information for variouspurposes, such as real-time monitoring, estimating long-term changes, mechanism diagnosis, forecasting study and even attribution analysis.Research on REEs is important for objectively defining extreme weather and climate events, which depends on the spatial and temporal scales ofinterest. Such an objective definition will support ongoing climate monitoring and improve the assessment of how regional extreme events havechanged over time.REN Fu-Min Blair TREWIN Manola BRUNET Pattanaik DUSHMANTA Andreas WALTER Omar BADDOUR Maya KORBER 2018Advances in Climate Change Research2018,9,3:1

13H_(∞) Load Frequency Control Design Based on Delay Discretization Approach for Interconnected Power Systems with Time Delay显示文摘This paper proposes a delay discretization based H∞load frequency control strategy for interconnected power systems. The effect of time delay is considered in the system for the design of stabilizing controller. To improve the tolerable delay margin of the system,a two-term state feedback controller structure is used. The controller requires delayed state information as control input. In the proposed approach, the amount of delay introduced in the state of the system,i.e.,artificial delay, for taking control action is assumed to be constant. The approach is based on the discretization of this delay interval. In order to define a simple Lyapunov-Krasovskii(LK)function for each of the discretized interval,a stabilization criterion is developed in such a way that a single one satisfies the requirement of all the intervals. The developed criterion is computationally simple and efficient.Subrat Kumar Pradhan Dushmanta Kumar Das 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,6:1

17A Delay-dependent Dynamic Wide Area Damping Controller for Renewable Energy Integrated Power System Resilient to Communication Failure显示文摘Integration of renewable energy sources(RES)with a conventional power system has a detrimental effect on interarea oscillation. Most popular RESs are solar photovoltaic(PV)and wind energy conversion systems(WECS).Both solar PV power generation and WECS are integrated with power systems using a power electronic converter.Increasing the amount of RES generation lead towards reduction of system damping, which leads towards inter-area oscillation. Also, the intermittent behavior of a RES reduces the effectiveness of damping controllers.A dynamic controller based wide area damping controller(WADC)is proposed in this paper to increase small signal stability of a RES integrated power system. The WADC is designed for contemplating delay in a communication channel, communication failure and saturation. An anti-windup compensator is developed to overcome the effect of actuator saturation. However, the gain of the anti-windup compensator is calculated using LyapunovKrasovskii functional(LKF)in terms of linear matrix inequality(LMI).The actuator considered in this paper is a unified power flow controller(UPFC).Efficacy of PV and wind power integration on power system is also observed. The efficacy of the developed dynamic controller is verified using IEEE 39 bus and 68 bus power system.Anirban Sengupta Dushmanta Kumar Das Bidyadhar Subudhi 2023CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,2:0
18A novel fractional order controller design algorithm for a class of linear systems显示文摘In this paper,a novel fractional order controller design algorithm is proposed for a class of linear systems. The proposed control algorithm is developed by employing Riemann principal sheet stability criterion.Oustaloup recursive approximation(ORA)method is used to implement the controller. The proposed controller is implemented in simulation. The results show that the proposed fractional order controller provides better results than the existing controllers in the literature work.Gandikota Gurumurthy Dushmanta Kumar Das 2022Journal of Control and Decision2022,9,2:0
19Recent advances in seasonal and multi-annual tropical cyclone forecasting显示文摘Seasonal tropical cyclone(TC)forecasting has evolved substantially since its commencement in the early 1980s.However,present operational seasonal TC forecasting services still do not meet the requirements of society and stakeholders:current operational products are mainly basin-scale information, while more detailed sub-basin scale information such as potential risks of TC landfall is anticipated for decision making. To fill this gap and make the TC science and services move forward, this paper reviews recent research and development in seasonal tropical cyclone(TC)forecasting. In particular, this paper features new research topics on seasonal TC predictability in neutral conditions of El Ni˜no–Southern Oscillation(ENSO),emerging forecasting techniques of seasonal TC activity including Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, and multi-annual TC predictions. We also review the skill of forecast systems at predicting landfalling statistics for certain regions of the North Atlantic,Western North Pacific and South Indian oceans and discuss the gap that remains between current products and potential user's expectations.New knowledge and advanced forecasting techniques are expected to further enhance the capability of seasonal TC forecasting and lead to more actionable and fit-for-purpose products.Yuhei Takaya Louis-Philippe Caron Eric Blake Francois Bonnardot Nicolas Bruneau Joanne Camp Johnny Chan Paul Gregory Jhordanne J.Jones Namyoung Kang Philip J.Klotzbach Yuriy Kuleshov Marie-Dominique Leroux Julia F.Lockwood Hiroyuki Murakami Akio Nishimura Dushmanta R.Pattanaik Tom J.Philp Yohan Ruprich-Robert Ralf Toumi Frederic Vitart Seonghee Won Ruifen Zhan 2023Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2023,12,3:0
