| 1 | Long-term aspirin pretreatment in the prevention of cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis in rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effects of long term pretreatment with low-,medium-and high-dose aspirin(acetylsalicylic acid,ASA) on a model of acute pancreatitis(AP) induced in rats.METHODS:Forty male Wistar rats were used.Three experimental groups,each consisting of eight animals,received low-(5 mg/kg per day),medium-(150 mg/kg per day) and high-dose(350 mg/kg per day) ASA in supplemented pellet chow for 100 d.Eight animals,serving as the AP-control group,and another eight,serving as reference value(RV) group,were fed with standard pellet chow for the same period.After pretreatment,AP was induced in the experimental animals by intraperitoneal administration of cerulein(2 × 50 μg/kg),while the RV group received saline in the same way.Twelve hours after the second injection,the animals were sacrificed.Pancreatic tissue and plasma samples were collected.One part of the collected pancreatic tissues was used for histopathological evaluation,and the remaining portion was homogenized.Cytokine levels [tumor necrosis factor,interleukin(IL)1β,IL-6],hemogram parameters,biochemical parameters(amylase and lipase),nuclear factor-κB,aspirin triggered lipoxins and parameters related to the antioxidant system(malondialdehyde,nitric oxide,hemeoxygenase-1,catalase and superoxide dismutase) were measured.RESULTS:Cerulein administration induced mild pancreatitis,characterized by interstitial edema(total histopathological score of 5.88 ± 0.44vs 0.25 ± 0.16,P < 0.001).Subsequent pancreatic tissue damage resulted in an increase in amylase(2829.71 ± 772.48 vs 984.57 ± 49.22 U/L,P = 0.001) and lipase(110.14 ± 75.84 U/L vs 4.71 ± 0.78 U/L,P < 0.001) in plasma,and leucocytes(6.89 ± 0.48 vs 4.36 ± 0.23,P = 0.001) in peripheral blood.Cytokines,IL-1β(18.81 ± 2.55 pg/μg vs 6.65 ± 0.24 pg/μg,P = 0.002) and IL-6(14.62 ± 1.98 pg/μg vs 9.09 ± 1.36 pg/μg,P = 0.04) in pancreatic tissue also increased.Aspirin pretreatment reduced the increase in the aforementioned parameters to a certain degree and partially improved the histopathological alterations caused by cerulein.No evidence of side effects related to chronic ASA administration(e.g.,inflammation or bleeding) was observed in the gastrointestinal tract in macroscopic and histopathological examination.CONCLUSION:Long term ASA pretreatment could prevent and/or ameliorate certain hematological,serological and histological alterations caused by ceruleininduced AP. | Ibrahim Akyazi Evren Eraslan Ahmet Gülubuk Elif Ergül Ekiz Zeynep L rakli Damla Haktanir Deniz Aktaran Bala Mete zkurt Erdal Matur Mukaddes zcan | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，19： | 5 |

| 3 | Late clinical characteristics of infants with retinopathy of prematurity and treated with cryotherapy显示文摘AIM: To describe the clinical characteristics and late results of patients with retinopathy of prematurity(ROP)treated with '6h cryotherapy'.·METHODS: Out of 1252 infants screened for ROP, 52 patients were treated with temporal 6h cryotherapy from1997 to 2005 were recalled to our clinic. Among these 23 patients were available and 46 eyes of 23 infants were included to evaluate for visual acuity, refractive error,ocular alignment, nystagmus, retinal examination(abnormal branching of retinal vessels, retinal thinning,latis degenerations, tortuosity of vessels, straightening of temporal vessels, narrowing of the angle of vessel in the juxtapapillary entrance, pigment changes, macular heterotopia), optic atrophy and optic disc cupping, axial length at birth and axial length at 1y.·RESULTS: The median age at examination was 7(5-18)y.In 32.6% of patients, the visual acuity was ≤20/200 and the mean best corrected visual acuity was 20/35 as measured with a Snellen chart. Mean spherical refractive error was-1.76±2.69 D. The degree of myopia at the last examination was found to be correlated with the elongation of the eye in the first year of life. Exotropia was present in 17.4%(n =8) of infants and esotropia in13%(n =6). | 4 | Imatinib response of gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients with germline mutation on KIT exon 13:A family report显示文摘Familial gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder associated with mutations in the KIT gene in the majority of cases. Although, exon 11 appears to be the hot spot region for approximately 95% of germline mutations, pathogenic variations have also been identified in exon 8, 13 and 17. Exon 13 germline mutations are extremely rare amongst familial GISTs and seven families with a germline mutation have been reported to date. Moreover, the role of imatinib mesylate in this rare familiar settings is not completely known so far. | 5 | Comparison of total/active ghrelin levels in primary open angle glaucoma,pseudoexfoliation glaucoma and pseudoexfoliation syndrome显示文摘AIM:To investigate the levels of ghrelin(Gh),acylated ghrelin(AGh) and AGh/Gh ratio in the humor aqueous(HA) of cases with pseudoexfoliation syndrome(PXS),pseudoexfoliation glaucoma(PXG),primary open angle glaucoma(POAG) and to compare these with control subjects.METHODS:A prospective examination was made of the total Gh,and AGh levels in HA of 67 patients undergoing cataract surgery.Patients were divided into 4 groups.HA samples were aspirated at the beginning of the surgery,stored at -70℃.Gh and AGh quantification was performed with ELISA kits and the AGh/total-Gh ratios were calculated.ANOVA,Kruskal-Wallis,Chi-square and post-hoc tests were used for statistical analysis.RESULTS:Total Gh levels in HA were 189.2±45.6 pg/mL in the control group,199.2±32.9 pg/mL in PXS,180.6±20.9 pg/mL in PXG and 176.8±21.4 pg/mL in POAG groups(P>0.05).AGh levels in HA were 23.09±5.01 pg/mL in the control group,24.13±5.22 pg/mL in PXS,22.29±1.55 pg/m L in PXG and 19.69±2.93 pg/mL in POAG groups(P>0.05).The ratio of AGh/Gh was 10.3%±2.34% in the control group,13.03%±2.58% in PXS,12.3%±1.54% in PXG and 11.79%±1.41% in POAG groups(P=0.044).The difference between the PXS and control groups was significant(P=0.03).CONCLUSION:In spite of statistically insignificant results,the HA total Gh levels were lower than those of the control subjects but not parallel with the AGh levels in glaucoma patients.The relative increase in the AGh/Gh ratio in glaucoma cases supports the view that proportional increases of AGh might play a role in the pathogenesis of glaucoma. | Numan Eraslan Ufuk Elgin Emine Sen Aytul Kilic Pelin Yilmazbas | 2018 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2018，11，5： | 3 |
