| 4 | Parishin C's prevention of Aβ_(1–42)-induced inhibition of long-term potentiation is related to NMDA receptors显示文摘The rhizome of Gastrodia elata(GE), a herb medicine, has been used for treatment of neuronal disorders in Eastern Asia for hundreds of years. Parishin C is a major ingredient of GE. In this study, the i.c.v. injection of soluble Aβ1–42oligomers model of LTP injury was used. We investigated the effects of parishin C on the improvement of LTP in soluble Aβ1–42oligomer–injected rats and the underlying electrophysiological mechanisms. Parishin C(i.p. or i.c.v.) significantly ameliorated LTP impairment induced by i.c.v. injection of soluble Aβ1–42oligomers. In cultured hippocampal neurons,soluble Aβ1–42oligomers significantly inhibited NMDAR currents while not affecting AMPAR currents and voltage-dependent currents. Pretreatment with parishin C protected NMDA receptor currents from the damage induced by Aβ. In summary, parishin C improved LTP deficits induced by soluble Aβ1–42oligomers. | 6 | Internet of Vehicles in Big Data Era显示文摘As the rapid development of automotive telematics,modern vehicles are expected to be connected through heterogeneous radio access technologies and are able to exchange massive information with their surrounding environment. By significantly expanding the network scale and conducting both real-time and long-term information processing, the traditional Vehicular AdHoc Networks(VANETs) are evolving to the Internet of Vehicles(Io V), which promises efficient and intelligent prospect for the future transportation system. On the other hand, vehicles are not only consuming but also generating a huge amount and enormous types of data, which is referred to as Big Data. In this article, we first investigate the relationship between Io V and big data in vehicular environment, mainly on how Io V supports the transmission, storage, computing of the big data, and how Io V benefits from big data in terms of Io V characterization,performance evaluation and big data assisted communication protocol design. We then investigate the application of Io V big data in autonomous vehicles. | 11 | Chemical fertilizers could be completely replaced by manure to maintain high maize yield and soil organic carbon(SOC)when SOC reaches a threshold in the Northeast China Plain显示文摘The combined use of chemical and organic fertilizers is considered a good method to sustain high crop yield and enhance soil organic carbon(SOC),but it is still unclear when and to what extent chemical fertilizers could be replaced by organic fertilizers.We selected a long-term soil fertility experiment in Gongzhuling,Northeast China Plain to examine the temporal dynamics of crop yield and SOC in response to chemical nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium(NPK) fertilizers and manure,applied both individually and in combination,over the course of three decades(1980-2010).We aimed to test 1) which fertilizer application is the best for increasing both maize yield and SOC in this region,and 2) whether chemical fertilizers can be replaced by manure to maintain high maize yield and enhance SOC,and if so,when this replacement should be implemented.We observed that NPK fertilizers induced a considerable increase in maize yield in the first 12 years after the initiation of the experiment,but manure addition did not.In the following years,the addition of both NPK fertilizers and manure led to an increase in maize yield.SOC increased considerably in treatments with manure but remained the same or even declined with NPK treatments.The increase in maize yield induced by NPK fertilizers alone declined greatly with increasing SOC,whereas the combination of NPK and manure resulted in high maize yield and a remarkable improvement in SOC stock.Based on these results we suggested that NPK fertilizers could be at least partially replaced by manure to sustain high maize yield after SOC stock has reached 41.96 Mg C ha^(-1) in the Northeast China Plain and highly recommend the combined application of chemical fertilizers and manure(i.e.,60 Mg ha^(-1)). | LI Hui FENG Wen-ting HE Xin-hua ZHU Ping GAO Hong-jun SUN Nan XU Ming-gang | 2017 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2017,16,4: | 13 |
| 12 | 3D N,O-Codoped Egg-Box-Like Carbons with Tuned Channels for High Areal Capacitance Supercapacitors显示文摘Functional carbonaceous materials for supercapacitors(SCs)without using acid for post-treatment remain a substantial challenge.In this paper,we present a less harmful strategy for preparing three-dimensional(3D)N,O-codoped egg-box-like carbons(EBCs).The as-prepared EBCs with opened pores provide plentiful channels for ion fast transport,ensure the e ective contact of EBCs electrodes and electrolytes,and enhance the electron conduction.The nitrogen and oxygen atoms doped in EBCs improve the surface wettability of EBC electrodes and provide the pseudocapacitance.Consequently,the EBCs display a prominent areal capacitance of 39.8μF cm-2(340 F g-1)at 0.106 m A cm-2 in 6 M KOH electrolyte.The EBC-based symmetric SC manifests a high areal capacitance to 27.6μF cm-2(236 F g-1)at 0.1075 m A cm-2,a good rate capability of 18.8μF cm-2(160 F g-1)at 215 m A cm-2 and a long-term cycle stability with only 1.9%decay after 50,000 cycles in aqueous electrolyte.Impressively,even in all-solid-state SC,EBC electrode shows a high areal capacitance of 25.0μF cm-2(214 F g-1)and energy density of 0.0233 m Wh cm-2.This work provides an acid-free process to prepare electrode materials from industrial by-products for advanced energy storage devices. | Feng Wei Xiaojun He Lianbo Ma Hanfang Zhang Nan Xiao Jieshan Qiu | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,7: | 13 |

They can be grouped into 4 orthosequence sets, in which the maximum flooding surfaces lie in the sulcutus Zone (D12), perbonus Zone (D13), Middle and Upper varcus Zone (D22) and gigas Zone (D21) respectively. Four instant palaeogeographical reconstructions of South China have been made in the Emsian and Givetian. Devonian sea-level change rhythms of South China can be divided into 3 categories: the autorhythmic, the worldwide and regional allorhythmic, and the coupling-rhythmic. | 16 | Molecular heterogeneity of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy efficacy is correlated with tumor immune microenvironment in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate how the tumor immune microenvironment differs regarding tumor genomics,as well as its impact on prognoses and responses to immunotherapy in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:We performed an integrated analysis using publicly available data to identify associations between anti-programmed death 1(PD-1)/programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)immunotherapy efficacy and classic driver oncogene mutations in East Asian NSCLC patients.Four pooled and clinical cohort analyses were used to correlate driver oncogene mutation status and tumor microenvironment based on PD-L1 and CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs).Immune infiltrating patterns were also established for genomic NSCLC subgroups using the CIBERSORT algorithm.Results:Based on East Asian NSCLC patients,TIDE analyses revealed that for anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-mutant and anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-rearranged tumors yielded inferior responses;however,although Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS)-mutant tumors responded better,the difference was not statistically significant(EGFR:P=0.037;ALK:P<0.001;KRAS:P=0.701).Pooled and clinical cohort analyses demonstrated tumor immune microenvironment heterogeneities correlated with oncogenic patterns.The results showed remarkably higher PD-L1-and TIL-positive KRAS-mutant tumors,suggesting KRAS mutations may drive an inflammatory phenotype with adaptive immune resistance.However,the EGFR-mutant or ALK-rearranged groups showed a remarkably higher proportion of PD-L1-/TIL-tumors,suggesting an uninflamed phenotype with immunological ignorance.Notably,similar to triple wild-type NSCLC tumors,EGFR L858R-mutant tumors positively correlated with an inflammatory phenotype,suggesting responsiveness to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy(P<0.05).Furthermore,the CIBERSORT algorithm results revealed that EGFR-mutant and ALK-rearranged tumors were characterized by an enriched resting memory CD4+T cell population(P<0.001),as well as a lack of CD8+T cells(P<0.01),and activated memory CD4+T cells(P=0.001).Conclusions:Our study highlighted the complex relationships between immune heterogeneity and immunotherapeutic responses in East Asian NSCLC patients regarding oncogenic dependence. | Runsen Jin Chengming Liu Sufei Zheng Xinfeng Wang Xiaoli Feng Hecheng Li Nan Sun Jie He | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3: | 10 |
| 17 | 6-gingerol protects nucleus pulposus-derived mesenchymal stem cells from oxidative injury by activating autophagy显示文摘BACKGROUND To date,there has been no effective treatment for intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD).Nucleus pulposus-derived mesenchymal stem cells(NPMSCs)showed encouraging results in IDD treatment,but the overexpression of reactive oxygen species(ROS)impaired the endogenous repair abilities of NPMSCs.6-gingerol(6-GIN)is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory reagent that might protect NPMSCs from injury.AIM To investigate the effect of 6-GIN on NPMSCs under oxidative conditions and the potential mechanism.METHODS The cholecystokinin-8 assay was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide and the protective effects of 6-GIN.ROS levels were measured by 2´7´-dichlorofluorescin diacetate analysis.Matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)was detected by the tetraethylbenzimidazolylcarbocyanine iodide assay.TUNEL assay and Annexin V/PI double-staining were used to determine the apoptosis rate.Additionally,autophagy-related proteins(Beclin-1,LC-3,and p62),apoptosisassociated proteins(Bcl-2,Bax,and caspase-3),and PI3K/Akt signaling pathwayrelated proteins(PI3K and Akt)were evaluated by Western blot analysis.Autophagosomes were detected by transmission electron microscopy in NPMSCs.LC-3 was also detected by immunofluorescence.The mRNA expression of collagen II and aggrecan was evaluated by real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and the changes in collagen II and MMP-13 expression were verified through an immunofluorescence assay.RESULTS 6-GIN exhibited protective effects against hydrogen peroxide-induced injury in NPMSCs,decreased hydrogen peroxide-induced intracellular ROS levels,and inhibited cell apoptosis.6-GIN could increase Bcl-2 expression and decrease Bax and caspase-3 expression.The MMP,Annexin V-FITC/PI flow cytometry and TUNEL assay results further confirmed that 6-GIN treatment significantly inhibited NPMSC apoptosis induced by hydrogen peroxide.6-GIN treatment promoted extracellular matrix(ECM)expression by reducing the oxidative stress injury-induced increase in MMP-13 expression.6-GIN activated autophagy by increasing the expression of autophagy-related markers(Beclin-1 and LC-3)and decreasing the expression of p62.Autophagosomes were visualized by transmission electron microscopy.Pretreatment with 3-MA and BAF further confirmed that 6-GIN-mediated stimulation of autophagy did not reduce autophagosome turnover but increased autophagic flux.The PI3K/Akt pathway was also found to be activated by 6-GIN.6-GIN inhibited NPMSC apoptosis and ECM degeneration,in which autophagy and the PI3K/Akt pathway were involved.CONCLUSION 6-GIN efficiently decreases ROS levels,attenuates hydrogen peroxide-induced NPMSCs apoptosis,and protects the ECM from degeneration.6-GIN is a promising candidate for treating IDD. | Li-Ping Nan Feng Wang Yang Liu Zhong Wu Xin-Min Feng Jun-Jian Liu Liang Zhang | 2020 | World Journal of Stem Cells2020,12,12: | 9 |
