2Optimization of H_2O_2 dosage in microwave-H_2O_2 process for sludge pretreatment with uniform design method显示文摘A microwave-H2O2 process for sludge pretreatment exhibited high efficiencies of releasing organics,nitrogen,and phosphorus,but large quantities of H2O2 residues were detected.A uniform design method was thus employed in this study to further optimize H2O2 dosage by investigating effects of pH and H2O2 dosage on the amount of H2O2 residue and releases of organics,nitrogen,and phosphorus.A regression model was established with pH and H2O2 dosage as the independent variables,and H2O2 residue and releases of organics,nitrogen,and phosphorus as the dependent variables.In the optimized microwave-H2O2 process,the pH value of the sludge was firstly adjusted to 11.0,then the sludge was heated to 80°C and H2O2 was dosed at a H2O2:mixed liquor suspended solids(MLSS)ratio of 0.2,and the sludge was finally heated to 100°C by microwave irradiation.Compared to the microwave-H2O2 process without optimization,the H2O2 dosage and the utilization rate of H2O2 in the optimized microwave-H2O2 process were reduced by 80% and greatly improved by 3.87 times,respectively,when the H2O2:MLSS dosage ratio was decreased from 1.0 to 0.2,resulting in nearly the same release rate of soluble chemical oxygen demand in the microwave-H2O2 process without optimization at H2O2:MLSS ratio of 0.5.Qingcong Xiao Hong Yan Yuansong Wei Yawei Wang Fangang Zeng Xiang Zheng 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,12:12
3Active harmonic suppression of paralleled 12-pulse rectifier at DC side显示文摘In order to improve the ability of harmonic suppression,and reduce the loss of switching devices,this paper proposes an active harmonic suppression method at dc side of multi-pulse rectifier(MPR) . The circulating current through secondary winding of active inter-phase reactor(AIPR) is derived from the current relation between the ac and dc sides of MPR when the threephase input currents are sinusoidal simultaneously,and an applicable circulating current is presented. According to the relation between voltage across secondary winding of AIPR and the applicable current,it is confirmed that harmonic energy of input line current can be consumed by the resistor in series with the secondary winding. A half-bridge PWM rectifier is designed to abstract the harmonic power and to feed the load,which can realize the recycling of harmonic energy. 4Selective elimination of chromophoric and fluorescent dissolved organic matter in a full-scale municipal wastewater treatment plant显示文摘Effluent organic matter(Ef OM) from municipal wastewater treatment plants potentially has a detrimental effect on both aquatic organisms and humans.This study evaluated the removal and transformation of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM) and fluorescent dissolved organic matter(FDOM) in a full-scale wastewater treatment plant under different seasons.The results showed that bio-treatment was found to be more efficient in removing bulk DOM(in term of dissolved organic carbon,DOC) than CDOM and FDOM,which was contrary to the disinfection process.CDOM and FDOM were selectively removed at various stages during the treatment.Typically,the low molecular weight fractions of CDOM and protein-like FDOM were more efficiently removed during bio-treatment process,whereas the humic-like FDOM exhibited comparable decreases in both bio-treatment and disinfection processes.Overall,the performance of the WWTP was weak in terms of CDOM and FDOM removal,resulting in enrichment of CDOM and FDOM in effluent.Moreover,the total removal of the bulk DOM(P < 0.05) and the protein-like FDOM(P < 0.05) displayed a significant seasonal variation,with higher removal efficiencies in summer,whereas removal of CDOM and the humic-like FDOM showed little differences between summer and winter.In all,the results provide useful information for understanding the fate and transformation of DOM,illustrating that sub-fractions of DOM could be selectively removed depending on treatment processes and seasonality.Xiaofang Yang Zhongbo Zhou Maddela Naga Raju Xiaoxuan Cai Fangang Meng 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7:6
5Adsorption and biodegradation of three selected endocrine disrupting chemicals in river-based artificial groundwater recharge with reclaimed municipal wastewater显示文摘Endocrine disrupting chemical(EDC) pollution in river-based artificial groundwater recharge using reclaimed municipal wastewater poses a potential threat to groundwater-based drinking water supplies in Beijing, China. Lab-scale leaching column experiments simulating recharge were conducted to study the adsorption, biodegradation, and transport characteristics of three selected EDCs: 17β-estradiol(E2), 17α-ethinylestradiol(EE2) and bisphenol A(BPA). The three recharge columns were operated under the conditions of continual sterilization recharge(CSR), continual recharge(CR), and wetting and drying alternative recharge(WDAR). The results showed that the attenuation effect of the EDCs was in the order of WDAR > CR > CSR system and E2 > EE2 > BPA, which followed first-order kinetics. The EDC attenuation rate constants were 0.0783, 0.0505, and 0.0479 m-1 for E2, EE2 and BPA in the CR system, respectively. The removal rates of E2, EE2, and BPA in the CR system were 98%, 96% and 92%, which mainly depended on biodegradation and were affected by water temperature.In the CR system, the concentrations of BPA, EE2, and E2 in soil were 4, 6 and 10 times higher than in the WDAR system, respectively. According to the DGGE fingerprints, the bacterial community in the bottom layer was more diverse than in the upper layer, which was related to the EDC concentrations in the water-soil system. 6Taxonomic and functional variations in the microbial community during the upgrade process of a full-scale landfill leachate treatment plant-from conventional to partial nitrification-denitrification显示文摘Because of the low access to biodegradable organic substances used for denitrification,the partial nitrification-denitrification process has been considered as a low-cost,sustainable alternative for landfill leachate treatment.In this study,the process upgrade from conventional to partial nitrificationdenitrification was comprehensively investigated in a full-scale landfill leachate treatment plant(LLTP).The partial nitrification-denitrification system was successfully achieved through the optimizing dissolved oxygen and the external carbon source,with effluent nitrogen concentrations lower than 150 mg/L.Moreover,the upgrading process facilitated the enrichment of Nitrosomonas(abundance increased from 0.4%to 3.3%),which was also evidenced by increased abundance of amoA/B/C genes carried by Nitrosomonas.Although Nitrospira(accounting for 0.1%-0.6%)was found to stably exist in the reactor tank,considerable nitrite accumulation occurred in the reactor(reaching 98.8 mg/L),indicating high-efficiency of the partial nitrification process.Moreover,the abundance of Thauera,the dominant denitrifying bacteria responsible for nitrite reduction,gradually increased from 0.60%to 5.52%during the upgrade process.This process caused great changes in the microbial community,inducing continuous succession of heterotrophic bacteria accompanied by enhanced metabolic potentials toward organic substances.The results obtained in this study advanced our understanding of the operation of a partial nitrification-denitrification system and provided a technical case for the upgrade of currently existing full-scale LLTPs.Binbin Sheng Depeng Wang Xianrong Liu Guangxing Yang Wu Zeng Yiqing Yang Fangang Meng 2020Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,6:3
7Photochemical alteration of biogenic particles in wastewater effluents显示文摘Biogenic particles discharged by wastewater treatment plants play important roles in receiving water because of the large specific surface area and good mobility of the particles. In this study, the changes induced in biogenic particles by natural sunlight were investigated to understand the phototransformation of the particles in the receiving waters. The results showed that photoexposure resulted in significant decreases in the sizes of the biogenic particles but that photoexposure did not impact the zeta potentials. In addition, the photodissolution of biogenic particulate organic matter(POM) led to the generation of biogenic dissolved organic matter(DOM). Characterization using excitation–emission matrix(EEM) spectroscopy showed that photoexposure changed both the shapes and the intensities of the EEM spectra of the biogenic POM; the regions of the T1 and T2 peaks were susceptible to photoexposure. Modeling by parallel factor analysis(PARAFAC) decomposed the EEMs of the biogenic POM into four valid components, i.e., terrestrial or microbial humic-like substances, tryptophan-like proteins, tyrosinelike proteins and hydrophobic proteins.
