| 2 | Action mechanism of a mechanical end-anchorage bolt显示文摘Axial compression stress, produced by the pre-tightening force of a bolt, is a necessary condition for surrounding rock to form a whole structure. For this study, we built a mechanical model for an end-anchorage bolt, which represented the effect of a bolt on the surrounding rock in roadways in order to obtain its elastic solution. Simultaneously, we analyzed factors affecting the axial compression of the bolt on the surrounding rock and obtained the axial stress contours of the anchorage area through this elastic solution. The results indicate that 1) the axial compression stress in the anchorage area is proportional to the pre-tightening force and confirms the rule that stress declines sharply with the increase in axial distance from the bolt, with an effective stress radius of 1 m; 2) the maximum axial compression stress declines first and then rises with the increase in depth from the surface of the anchorage surrounding rock and 3) the size of the axial compression area is mainly determined by the length of the bolt. | WU Yu MAO Xianbiao HUANG Jinglong SUN Fengjuan YAO Banghua | 2010 | Mining Science and Technology2010,20,4: | 3 |
| 3 | RNA-seq analysis of unintended effects in transgenic wheat overexpressing the transcription factor GmDREB1显示文摘The engineering of plants with enhanced tolerance to abiotic stresses typically involves complex multigene networks and may therefore have a greater potential to introduce unintended effects than the genetic modification for simple monogenic traits. For this reason, it is essential to study the unintended effects in transgenic plants engineered for stress tolerance. We selected drought-and salt-tolerant transgenic wheat overexpressing the transcription factor, GmDREB1, to investigate unintended pleiotropic effects using RNA-seq analysis. We compared the transcriptome alteration of transgenic plants with that of wild-type plants subjected to salt stress as a control. We found that GmDREB1 overexpression had a minimal impact on gene expression under normal conditions.GmDREB1 overexpression resulted in transcriptional reprogramming of the salt response,but many of the genes with differential expression are known to mitigate salt stress and contribute incrementally to the enhanced stress tolerance of transgenic wheat. GmDREB1 overexpression did not activate unintended gene networks with respect to gene expression in the roots of transgenic wheat. | 4 | Metabolic profiling of DREB-overexpressing transgenic wheat seeds by liquid chromatographymass spectrometry显示文摘DREBs are transcription factors that regulate abiotic stress tolerance in plants.Previously,we reported that wheat transgenic lines overexpressing Gm DREB1 showed increased tolerance to drought and salt stress.However,the molecular basis of increased tolerance is still poorly understood,and whether the overexpression of DREB will cause unexpected effects is also of concern.We performed seed metabolic profiling of the genetically modified(GM)wheat T349 and three non-GM cultivars with LC-MS to identify the metabolic basis of stress tolerance and to assess the unexpected effects of exogenous gene insertion.Although we did not note the appearance of novel metabolites or the disappearance of existing metabolites,overexpression of the transcription factor Gm DREB1 in T349 wheat influenced metabolite levels in seeds.Increased levels of stress tolerance-associated metabolites were found in the stress-sensitive non-transgenic acceptor counterpart J19,while metabolites associated with cell membrane structure and stability accumulated in T349.Among these metabolites in T349,most showed levels similar to those in the non-GM wheats.Overexpression of Gm DREB1 in T349 may cause a shift in its metabolic profile leading to down-regulation of several energy-consuming processes to favor increased yield under stress conditions,which is a reasonable expectation of breeders while creating the GM wheat and Gm DREB1 overexpression did not cause unexpected effects in T349 seeds.These results may be helpful for GM crop research and risk assessment. | Fengjuan Niu Qiyan Jiang Xianjun Sun Zheng Hu Lixia Wang Hui Zhang | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,6: | 2 |

| 12 | Aldosterone dysregulation predicts the risk of mortality and rehospitalization in heart failure with a preserved ejection fraction显示文摘Serum aldosterone is associated with cardiac remodeling,which contributes to morbidity and mortality in heart failure(HF);however,the prognostic value of aldosterone in HF with a preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)is unclear.We used liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to quantify serum aldosterone in 873 patients with HFpEF in a Registry Study of Biomarkers for HF.The retrospective study was conducted at Beijing Anzhen Hospital from May 2017 to October 2019.The primary endpoint was a composite of all-cause mortality and rehospitalization for HF.Aldosterone concentrations in patients with and without events were 124.22 pmol L^(-1)(interquartile range(IQR):48.62–256.20)and 96.33 pmol L^(-1)(IQR:37.33–215.76),respectively(P=0.023).Aldosterone independently predicted all-cause mortality(adjusted hazard ratio(aHR),1.55;95%confidence interval(95%CI),1.06–2.27;P=0.024)and the primary endpoint(a HR,1.43;95%CI,1.11–1.85;P=0.006).Patients with high aldosterone concentrations were at higher risk of concentric remodeling(adjusted odds ratio(aOR),1.45;95%CI,1.03–2.04;P=0.034).Patients with high aldosterone and B-type natriuretic peptide concentrations were at a higher risk of the primary endpoint(hazard ratio(HR),1.85;95%CI,1.29–2.66;P=0.001).We conclude that elevated aldosterone is associated with a risk of rehospitalization with HF and all-cause mortality in patients with HFpEF. | Bingbing Ke Xin Tan Lu Ren Yangkai Fan Yixin Zhang Fengjuan Li Qiqi Sun Tong Liu Lixin Jia Yuan Wang Jie Du | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,3: | 1 |

| 19 | Different responses of two adjacent artificial beaches to Typhoon Hato in Zhuhai,China显示文摘Major differences in beach erosion between two neighboring artificial beaches Xiangluwan Beach(XL beach)and Meiliwan Beach(ML beach)in Zhuhai,China,were studied after Super Typhoon Hato.In this study,a fully nonlinear Boussinesq wave model(FUNWAVE)-Total Variation Diminishing(TVD)was used to distinguish the main impact factors,their relative contributions,and the hydrodynamic mechanisms underlying the different beach responses.Results show that compared to the ML beach,the main reason for the relatively weak erosion on Xiangluwan(XL)beach was the smaller beach berm height(accounting for approximately 75.9%of the erosion response).Regarding the beach with a higher berm,the stronger wave-induced undertow flow,along with the higher sediment concentration,led to a higher offshore sediment transport flux,resulting in more severe erosion relative to the beach with a smaller berm height.The second most important reason explaining the weak erosion on XL beach was the absence of seawalls(accounting for approximately 17.9%of the erosion response).Wave reflection induced by the seawall could cause higher suspended sediment concentration,resulting in a toe scouring near the seawall.The offshore submerged breakwater protected XL beach slightly(accounting for approximately 6.1%of the erosion response).Due to the higher water level induced by storm surge,most of the wave energy could penetrate through the submerged breakwater.The effect of the larger berm width of XL beach was negligible.Compared to the beach with a larger berm width,the erosion/deposition regions in the beach with a narrower berm width showed shoreward migration,without significant changes in the erosion/deposition extent.Despite of this,the larger berm width could reduce the wave energy reaching the shoreline.This study of the storm stability of artificial beaches may be applied to beach restoration design. | Jun ZHU Qing WANG Chao ZHAN Fengjuan SUN Wenhao HUA Jianhui LIU Hongshuai QI Yu YANG | 2024 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,2: | 0 |
