| 1 | Physical activity and cognitive function among older adults in China:A systematic review显示文摘Background: Physical activity(PA) has been shown to benefit cognitive function in older adults. However, the cognitive benefits of exercising for older Chinese adults have not been systematically documented. This study was to conduct a systematic review on evidence that PA is beneficial for cognitive functioning in older Chinese adults.Methods: Major databases, including Pub Med, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Wan Fang, CNKI, and VIP, were searched for studies published in English or Chinese between January 2000 and December 2015. Randomized and non-randomized controlled trials(RCTs and non-RCTs), cohort,case-control and cross-sectional studies that evaluated PA and cognitive function among older Chinese adults were included in this review.Results: Of 53 studies included and reviewed, 33 were observational(22 cross-sectional, 7 case-control, and 4 cohort) and 20 were experimental(15 RCTs, 5 non-RCTs). Observational studies showed an association of reduced risk of cognitive-related diseases(i.e., mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia) through PA, whereas experimental studies reported exercise-induced improvement in multiple domains of cognitive function(i.e., global cognitive function, memory, executive function, attention, language, and processing recourse).Conclusion: This systematic review provides initial evidence that PA may benefit cognition in older Chinese adults. | 2 | Constructing the barley model for genetic transformation in Triticeae显示文摘Barley(Hordeum vulgare L.) is one of the oldest domesticated crops, showing dramatic adaptation to various climate and environmental conditions. As a major cereal crop, barley ranks the 4th after wheat, maize and rice in terms of planting area and production all over the world. Due to its diploid nature, the cultivated barley is considered as an ideal model to study the polyploid wheat and other Triticeae species. Here, we reviewed the development, optimization, and application of transgenic approaches in barley. The most efficient and robust genetic transformation has been built on the Agrobacterium-mediated transfer in conjunction with the immature embryo-based regeneration. We then discussed future considerations of using more practical technologies in barley transformation, such as the T-DNA/transposon tagging and the genome editing. The multiscale soil loss evaluation index is applied to the evaluation of relationships between land use and soil erosion and the research of soil erosion evaluation at multiple scales. | 7 | Remote Sensing of Ecosystem Services:An Opportunity for Spatially Explicit Assessment显示文摘Ecosystem service is an emerging concept that grows to be a hot research area in ecology.Spatially explicit ecosystem service values are important for ecosystem service management.However,it is difficult to quantify ecosystem services.Remote sensing provides images covering Earth surface,which by nature are spatially explicit.Thus,remote sensing can be useful for quantitative assessment of ecosystem services.This paper reviews spatially explicit ecosystem service studies conducted in ecology and remote sensing in order to find out how remote sensing can be used for ecosystem service assessment.Several important areas considered include land cover,biodiversity,and carbon,water and soil related ecosystem services.We found that remote sensing can be used for ecosystem service assessment in three different ways:direct monitoring,indirect monitoring,and combined use with ecosystem models.Some plant and water related ecosystem services can be directly monitored by remote sensing.Most commonly,remote sensing can provide surrogate information on plant and soil characteristics in an ecosystem.For ecosystem process related ecosystem services,remote sensing can help measure spatially explicit parameters.We conclude that acquiring good in-situ measurements and selecting appropriate remote sensor data in terms of resolution are critical for accurate assessment of ecosystem services. | FENG Xiaoming FU Bojie YANG Xiaojun Lü Yihe | 2010 | Chinese Geographical Science2010,20,6: | 18 |
| 8 | A zirconium modified Co/SiO_2 Fischer-Tropsch catalyst prepared by dielectric-barrier discharge plasma显示文摘Co/SiO2 and zirconium promoted Co/Zr/SiO2 catalysts were prepared using dielectric-barrier discharge(DBD) plasma instead of the conventional thermal calcination method.Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis(FTS) performances of the catalyst were evaluated in a fixed bed reactor.The results indicated that the catalyst treated by DBD plasma shows the higher FTS activity and yield of heavy hydrocarbons as compared with that treated by the conventional thermal calcination method.Increase in CO conversion was unnoticeable on the Co/SiO2 catalyst,but significant on the Co/Zr/SiO2 catalyst,both prepared by DBD plasma.On the other hand,heavy hydrocarbon selectivity and chain growth probability (a value) were enhanced on all the catalysts prepared by the DBD plasma.In order to study the effect of the DBD plasma treatment on the FTS performance,the catalysts were characterized by N2-physisorption,H2-temperature programed reduction(H2-TPR),H2-temperature-programmed desorption(H2-TPD) and oxygen titration,transmission electron microscope(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).It was proved that,compared with the traditional calcination method,DBD plasma not only could shorten the precursor decomposition time,but also could achieve better cobalt dispersion,smaller Co3O4 cluster size and more uniform cobalt distribution.However,cobalt reducibility was hindered to some extent in the Co/SiO2 catalyst prepared by DBD plasma,while the zirconium additive prevented significantly the decrease in cobalt reducibility and increased cobalt dispersion as well as the FTS performance. | Yunhui Jiang Tingjun Fu Jing Lü Zhenhua Li | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,3: | 4 |

| 15 | Study on denoising of continuous spectrum on-line monitoring signal of water quality with micro-reagents based on HHT显示文摘A continuous spectrum water quality on-line monitoring signal processing method based on Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT) is proposed in this paper, which combines the micro-reagent water quality on-line monitoring technology of sequential injection. The modulation signal and spectrum curve of each intrinsic mode function(IMF) component of the original spectrum signal were obtained by empirical mode decomposition(EMD). The water sample data of different concentrations in the continuous spectrum on-line monitoring system was analyzed by the HHT model. The noise signal was excavated to realize the noise reduction processing, and the reconstruction of the continuous spectrum signal was realized after the noise reduction processing was completed. | 20 | Interaction between macroalgae and microplastics:Caulerpa lentillifera and Gracilaria tenuistipitata as microplastic bio-elimination vectors显示文摘The pollution of microplastics(MPs)in the ocean has become a serious matter of concern.The farmed seaweeds(Caulerpa lentillifera and Gracilaria tenuistipitata)were selected to study their ability of adsorption with two typical classes of MPs(polyamides and polystyrene),thereby revealing the interaction between MPs and macroalgae and exploring novel methods of removing MPs from macroalgae.The results demonstrate that polyamides(PA)fibers had no effect on the various physiological parameters of both seaweeds(e.g.,relative growth rate,photosynthetic oxygen evolution rate,the contents of malondialdehyde and extracellular polymeric substances)after 7 days of exposure,except for the chlorophyll-a concentration.However,the effects of polystyrene(PS)particles on the algae were strongly associated with the concentration of MPs exposure.Exposed to the high concentration(100 mg/L)of PS particles,the relative growth rate of C.lentillifera and G.tenuistipitata decreased by 54.56% and 30.62%,respectively,compared to the control,while no significant(P>0.05)harmful effect of PS particles on seaweeds was observed in an environment with a low content of PS particles(25 mg/L).The PS particles in concentration of 100 mg/L significantly(P<0.05)inhibited photosynthetic oxygen evolution rate and extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)contents in both seaweeds,but increased malondialdehyde(MDA)contents.When exposed for 72 h,the MPs adhesion rate of G.tenuistipitata is higher than that of C.lentillifera,which might be due to the higher EPS content of G.tenuistipitata.The MPs desorption experiment indicated that the combination of dewatering and washing had the highest desorption rate of MPs which could reach to 91.45%and 87.23%for C.lentillifera and G.tenuistipitata,respectively.This research demonstrates the potential of macroalgae as a vector for MPs in aquatic environment and provides methodological insights into decontamination procedures for removing the MPs from macroalgae. | Zihao LI Dejiang FU Shuguo Lü Zhiyuan LIU | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,6: | 0 |
