Effects of transmitters and interleukin-10 on rat hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl_4显示文摘AIM: To study the effects of transmitters ET, AgII, PGI2,CGRP and GG on experimental rat hepatic fibrosis and the antifibrogenic effects of IL-10.METHODS: One hundred SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (N): intraperitoneal injection a week; IL-10 treated group (E): besides same dosage of the third week. In the fifth, the seventh and the ninth week, rats in three groups were selected randomly to collect plasma and liver tissues. The levels of ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP and GG were assayed by radioimmunoassay (RIA). The liver fibrosis was observed with silver staining.RESULTS: The hepatic fibrosis was developed with the increase of the injection frequency of CCl4. The ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP The histological examination showed that the degrees of the rats liver fibrosis in group E were lower than those in group C.CONCLUSION: The transmitters ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP and GG play a significant role in the rat hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl4. IL-10 has the antagonistic action on these transmitters and can relieve the degree of the liver fibrosis.Xiao-Zhong Wang Li-Juan Zhang Dan Li Yue-Hong Huang Zhi-Xin Chen BinLi Department of Gastroenterology, The Affiliated Union Hospital, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou, 350001, Fujian Province, China 2003World Journal of Gastroenterology2003,9,3:33
Expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor and its intervention by interleukin-10 in experimental hepatic fibrosis显示文摘AIM: To study the expression of IGF-1 and IGF-1R and its intervention by interleuldn-10 in the course of experimental hepatic fibrosis.METHODS: Hepatic fibrosis was induced in rats by carbon tetrachloride intoxication and liver specimens were taken from the rats administered CCl4 with or without IL-10 treatment and the animals of the control group.Immunoreactivities for insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1)and IGF-1 receptor(IGF-1R) were demonstrated by immunohistochemistry, and their intensities were evaluated in different animal groups.RESULTS: The positive levels for IGF-1 and IGF-1R were increased with the development of hepatic fibrosis, with the positive signals localized in cytoplasm and/or at the plasmic membrane of hepatocytes. The positive signals of IGF-1 and IGF-1R were observed more frequently (P<0.01) in the CCl4-treated group (92.0 % and 90.0 %) compared to those in the control group. The positive signals decreased significantly (P<0.05) in IL-10-treated group. The responses in IGF-1 and IGF-1R expression correlated with the time of IL-10 treatment.CONCLUSION: The expression of IGF-1 and IGF-1R immunoreactivities in liver tissue seems to be up-regulated during development of hepatic fibrosis induced by CC14, and exogenic IL-10 inhibits the responses.Xiao-Zhong Wang Zhi-Xin Chen Li-Juan Zhang Yun-Xin Chen Dan Li Feng-Lin Chen Yue-Hong Huang Department of Gastroenterology,Affiliated Union Hospital,Fujian Medical University,Fuzhou,350001,Fujian Province,China 2003World Journal of Gastroenterology2003,9,6:27
Cytochrome P450 2E1 genetic polymorphism and gastric cancer in Changle,Fujian Province显示文摘AIM: Genetic polymorphism in enzymes of carcinogen metabolism has been found to have the influence on the susceptibility to cancer. Cytochrome P450 2E1 ( CYP2 E1) is considered to play an important role in the metabolic activation of procarcinogens such as N-nitroscoamines and Iow molecular weight organic compounds. The purpose of this study is to determine whether CYP450 2Elpolymorphisms are associated with risk s of gastric cancer.METHODS: We conducted a population based case-control study in Changle county, Fujian Province, a high-risk region of gastric cancer in China. Ninety-one incident gastric cancer patients and ninety-four healthy controls were included in our study. Datas including dsmographic characteristcs, diet intake, and alcohol and tobacco consumption of indivduals in our study were completed by a standardized questionnaire. PCR-RFLP revealed three genotypes: heterozygote (C1/C2) and two homozygotes (C1/C1 and C2/C2) in CYP2E1.RESULTS: The frequency of variant genotypes (C1/C2 and C2/C2) in gastric cancer cases and controls was 36.3% and 24.5%, respectively. The rare homozygous C2/C2 genotype was found in 6 indivduals in gastric cancer group(6.6%),whereas there was only one in the control group (1.1%).However, there was no statistically significan difference between the two groups (two-tailed Fisher′s exact test, P =0.066). Indivduals in gastric cancer group were more likely to carry genotype C1/C2 (odds ratio, OR = 1.50) and C2/C2(OR = 7.34) than indivduals in control group (X2 = 4.597, for trend P=0.032). The frequencies of genofypes with the C2allele ( C1/C2 and C2/C2 genotypes) were compared with those of genotypes without C2 allele ( C1/C1 genotype )among indivduals in gastric cancer group and control group according to the pattern of gastric cancer risk factors. The results show that indivduals who exposed to these gastric cancer risk factors and carry the C2 allele seemed to have a higher risk of developing gastric cancer.CONCLUSION: Polymorphism of CYP2E1 gene may have some effct in the development of gastric cancer in Changle county, Fujian Province.Lin Cai~1 Shun-Zhang Yu~2 Zuo-Feng Zhang~3 1 Department of Epidemiology,Fujian Medical University,Fuzhou 350004,Fujian Province,China2 Department of Epidemiology,Shanghai Medical University,Shanghai 200032,China3 Department of Epidemiology,UCLA School of Public Health,Los Angeles California,USA 2001World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,6:25
Glutathione S-transferases M1,T1 genotypes and the risk of gastric cancer:A case-control study显示文摘AIM Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs are involved in the detoxification of many potential carcinogens and appear to play a critical role in the protection from the effects of carcinogens. The contribution of glutathione Stransferases M1 and T1 genotypes to susceptibility to the risk of gastric cancer and their interaction with cigarette smoking are still unclear. The aim of this study was to determine whether there was any relationship between genetic polymorphisms of GSTM1 and GSTT1 and gastric cancer.METHODS A population based case - control study was carried out in a high-risk area, Changle County, Fujian Province, China. The epidemiological data were collected by a standard questionnaire and blood samples were obtained from 95 incidence gastric cancer cases and 94 healthy controls. A polymerase chain reaction method was used to detect the presence or absence of the GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes in genomic DNA. Logistic regression model was employed in the data analysis.RESULTS An increase in risk for gastric cancer was found among carriers of GSTM1 null genotype. The adjusted odds ratio (OR) was 2.63 [95% Confidence Interval (95% CI) 1.17-5.88], after controlling for age, gender, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, and fish sauce intake. The frequency of GSTT1 null genotype in cancer cases (43.16%) was not significantly different from that in controls (50.00%). However, the risk for gastric cancer in those with GSTM1 null and GSTT1 nonnull genotype was significantly higher than in those with both GSTM1 and GSTT1 non-null genotype (OR = 2.77,95% Cl 1.15- 6.77). Compared with those subjects who never smoked and had normal GSTM1 genotype, Ors were 1.60 (95% CI: 0.62- 4.19) for never smokers with GSTM1 null type, 2.33 (95% CI 0.88- 6.28) for smokers with normal GSTM1, and 8.06 (95% CI 2.83- 23.67) for smokers with GSTM1 null type.CONCLUSIONS GSTM1 gene polymorphisms may be associated with genetic susceptibility of stomach cancer and may modulate tobacco-related carcinogenesis of gastric cancer.Lin Cai Shun-Zhang Yu Zuo-Feng Zhang Department of Epidemiology.Fujian Medical University,Fuzhou 350004,Fujian Province,ChinaDepartment of Epidemiology,Shanghai Medical University,Shanghai 200032,China Department of Epidemiology,UCLA School of Public Health,Los Angeles California,USA 2001World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,4:22
Changed clinical aspects of primary liver cancer in China during the past 30 years显示文摘BACKGROUND: Primary liver cancer (PLC) is one of the most frequently seen tumors in China. Thirty years ago, patients with PLC were often detected at relatively late stage, with a palpable mass or marked clinical symptoms and poor prognosis. In the past 30 years, the diagnosis and treatment of PLC have been greatly improved with better prognosis. METHODS: In order to study the changes of PLC during the 30 years, the clinical data of 3250 patients with PLC from 10 medical institutions of China were collected, ana- lyzed , and compared with those of 3254 PLC patients be- fore the 30 years. RESULTS: In the 3250 patients aged 1-80 years, with an average age of 49.1 years, the male to female ratio (2.3:1) was lower than that before the 30 years. 73.5% of the 3250 patients sought medical advice within 3 months after the onset of the disease in contrast to 63.8% before the 30 years. Compared with those patients before the 30 years the symptoms and signs were alleviated generally. The HBsAg positive rate was 81.0%, but the HCV-Ab positive rate was 13.2%. The AFP level in 75% of patients was elevated, but in the remaining 25% was normal. 1912 patients (58.8%) were confirmed pathologically. Among them 1755 patients (91.8%) had hepatocellular carcinoma. The overall resec- tion rate was 46.3%. Those who had early, middle, late stage carcinoma accounted for 29.9%, 51.5%, and 18.6%respectively in contrast to 0.4%, 47.0%, and 52.6% repor- ted before the 30 years. The 1-, 3-, 5-year survival rates of the patients were 66.1%, 39.7%, and 32.5% respectively, whereas 93.5%, 70.1%, and 59.1% for the early stage pa- tients, and 65.3%, 30.5%, and 23.5% for the middle stage patients. The half and 1-year survival rates of the late stage patients were 52.5%, and 14.7%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Comparison with the clinical data before and after the 30 years show that PLC can be diagnosed ear- ly. More PLC patients tend to undergo resection while re- ceiving a better conservative treatment, which ensures a prognosis.Bing-Hui Yang, Jing-Lin Xia, Li-Wen Huang, Zhao-You Tang, Ming-Shan Chen, Jin-Qing Li, An-Min Liang, Qin-Guo Mo, Hui-Shan Lu, Chao-Liu Dai, Lu-Nan Yan, Zhi-Jian Yu, Rong-Sheng Rao, Le-Qun Li, Zhi-Xiong Su, Zhuang-Wei Fang Shanghai, China Liver Cancer Institute & Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai 200032, China Tumor Hospital, Zhongshan University, Guangzhou 510000, China Tumor Hospital, Guangxi Medical Universi- ty, Nanning 530000, China Xiehe Hospital, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou 350000, China Second Hos- pital, Chinese Medical University, Shenyang 110000, China Huaxi Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610041, China Hospital Affiliated to Nantong Medical University, Nantong 226000 , China Second Hospital, Jiangxi Medical University, Nanchang 330000 , China First Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi Medical University, Nanning 530000 , China People’s Hospital of Hainan Province, Haikou 570000, China 2004Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2004,3,2:20
Plasma miR-216a as a potential marker of pancreatic injury in a rat model of acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM:To study the potential value and specificity of plasma miR-216a as a marker for pancreatic injury.METHODS:Two rat models were applied in this article:L-arginine-induced acute pancreatitis was used as one model to explore the potential value of plasma miR-216a for detection of pancreatic injury;nonlethal sepsis induced in rats by single puncture cecal ligation and puncture(CLP)was used as the other model to evaluate the specificity of plasma miR-216a compared with twocommonly used markers(amylase and lipase)for acute pancreatitis.Plasmas were sampled from rats at indicated time points and total RNA was isolated.Real-Time Quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction was used to quantify miR-216a in plasmas.RESULTS:In the acute pancreatitis model, among five time points at which plasmas were sampled,miR-216a concentrations were significantly elevated 24 h after arginine administration and remained significantly increased until 48 h after operation(compared with 0 h time point,P<0.01,Kruskal-Wallis Test). In the CLP model, plasma amylase and lipase, two commonly used biomarkers for acute pancreatitis, were significantly elevated 24 h after operation(compared with 0 h time point,P<0.01 and 0.05 respectively,Pairwise Bonferroni corrected ttests),while miR-216a remained undetectable among four tested time points.CONCLUSION:Our article showed for the first time that plasma miR-216a might serve as a candidate marker of pancreatic injury with novel specificity.Xiang-Yu Kong,Yi-Qi Du,Lei Li,Xiao-Hua Man,Yan-Fang Gong,Li-Ning Xiao,Yong-Zhi Zheng,Shang-Xin Deng,Jun-Jun Gu,Zhao-Shen Li,Department of Gastroenterology,Changhai Hospital,Second Military Medical University,Shang-hai 200433,China Jian-Qiang Liu,Department of Gastroenterology,Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Command,Fuzhou 350025,Fujian Province,China Guo-Kun Wang,Jia-Qi Zhu,Department of Cardiology,Changhai Hospital,Second Military Medical University,Shang-hai 200433,China 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,36:19
Virulence and potential pathogenicity of coccoid Helicobacter pylori induced by antibiotics显示文摘AIM To explore the virulence and the potential pathogenicity of coccoid Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) transformed from spiral form by exposure to antibiotic.METHODS Three strains of H. pylori, isolated from gastric biopsy specimens of confirmed peptic ulcer, were converted from spiral into coccoid from by exposure to metronidazole. Both spiral and coccoid form of H. pylori were tested for the urease activity, the adherence to Hep-2 cells and the vacuolating cytotoxicity to Hela cells, and the differences of the protein were analysed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot,The mutation of the genes including ureA, ureB,hpaA; vacA and cagA, related with virulence, was detected by means of PCR and PCR-SSCP.RESULTS In the coccoid H. pylori, the urease activity, the adherence to Hep-2 cells and the vacuolating cytotoxicity to Hela cells alldecreased. In strain F44, the rate and index of adherence reduced from 70.0% ± 5.3% to 33% ±5.1% and from 2.6 ±0.4 to 0.96 ±0.3 (P<0.01),respectively. The invasion of coccoid H. pylori into Hep-2 cell could be seen under electronmicroscope. SDS-PAGE showed that the content of the protein with the molecular weight over Mr74 000 decreased, and the hybriditional signal in band Mr 125 000 weakened, while the band Mr 110000 and Mr63000 strengthened in coccoid H. pylori as shown in Western blot. The results of PCR were all positive, and PCR-SSCP indicated that there may exist the point mutation in gene hpaA or vacA.CONCLUSION The virulence and the proteins with molecular weight over Mr74 000 in coccoid H. pylori decrease, but no deletion exists in amplification fragments from ureA, ureB, hpaA,vacA and cagA genes, suggesting that coccoid H. pylori may have potential pathogenicity.Fei Fei She1 Dong Hui Su1 Jian Yin Lin2 Lin Ying Zhou3 1Department of Microbiology, Fujian Medical University. 8Research on uncertainty in measurement assisted alignment in aircraft assembly显示文摘Operations in assembling and joining large size aircraft components are changed to novel digital and flexible ways by digital measurement assisted alignment.Positions and orientations(P&O)of aligned components are critical characters which assure geometrical positions and relationships of those components. Therefore, evaluating the P&O of a component is considered necessary and critical for ensuring accuracy in aircraft assembly.Uncertainty of position and orientation(U-P&O),as a part of the evaluating result of P&O,needs to be given for ensuring the integrity and credibility of the result;furthermore,U-P&O is necessary for error tracing and quality evaluating of measurement assisted aircraft assembly. However, current research mainly focuses on the process integration of measurement with assembly, and usually ignores the uncertainty of measured result and its influence on quality evaluation. This paper focuses on the expression, analysis, and application of U-P&O in measurement assisted alignment. The geometrical and algebraical connotations of U-P&O are presented. Then,an analytical algorithm for evaluating the multi-dimensional U-P&O is given, and the effect factors and characteristics of U-P&O are discussed.Finally,U-P&O is used to evaluate alignment in aircraft assembly for quality evaluating and improving.Cases are introduced with the methodology.Chen Zhehan Du Fuzhou Tang Xiaoqing 2013Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,6:17
Tumor size as a prognostic factor in patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach显示文摘AIM: To explore the impact of tumor size on outcomes in patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical records of 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach who underwent distal subtotal gastrectomy and D2 lymphadenectomy in our hospital from January 1998 to June 2004. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the appropriate cutoff value for tumor size, which was measured as maximum tumor diameter. Based on this cutoff value, patients were divided into two groups: those with large-sized tumors (LSTs) and those with small-sized tumors (SSTs). The correlations between other clinicopathologic factors and tumor size were investigated, and the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate was compared between the two groups. Potential prognostic factors were evaluated by univariate KaplanMeier survival analysis and multivariate Cox's propor-tional hazard model analysis. The 5-year OS rates in the two groups were compared according to pT stage and pN stage. RESULTS: The 5-year OS rate in the 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach was 53.7%. The mean ± SD tumor size was 4.9 ± 1.9 cm, and the median tumor size was 5.0 cm. ROC analysis indicated that the sensitivity and specificity results for the appropriate tumor size cutoff value of 4.8 cm were 80.0% and 68.2%, respectively (AUC=0.795, 95%CI: 0.751-0.839, P=0.000). Using this cutoff value, 222 patients (51.6%) had LSTs (tumor size ≥ 4.8 cm) and 208 (48.4%) had SSTs (tumor size<4.8 cm). Tumor size was significantly correlated with histological type (P=0.039), Borrmann type (P=0.000), depth of tumor invasion (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.000), tumor-nodes metastasis stage (P=0.000), mean number of metastatic lymph nodes (P=0.000) and metastatic lymph node ratio (P=0.000). Patients with LSTs had a significantly lower 5-year OS rate than those with SSTs (37.1% vs 63.3%, P=0.000). Univariate analysis showed that depth of tumor invasion (c 2=69.581, P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (c 2=138.815, P=0.000), tumor size (c 2=78.184, P=0.000) and metastatic lymph node ratio (c 2=139.034, P=0.000) were significantly associated with 5-year OS rate. Multivariate analysis revealed that depth of tumor invasion (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.019) and tumor size (P=0.000) were independent prognostic factors. Gastric cancers were divided into 12 subgroups: pT2N0; pT2N1; pT2N2; pT2N3; pT3N0; pT3N1; pT3N2; pT3N3; pT4aN0; pT4aN1; pT4aN2; and pT4aN3. In patients with pT2-3N3 stage tumors and patients with pT4a stage tumors, 5-year OS rates were significantly lower for LSTs than for SSTs (P<0.05 each), but there were no significant differences in the 5-year OS rates in LST and SST patients with pT23N0-2 stage tumors (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Using a tumor size cutoff value of 4.8cm, tumor size is a prognostic factor in patients with pN3 stage or pT4a stage advanced gastric cancer located in the lower third of the stomach.Hong-Mei Wang, Chang-Ming Huang, Chao-Hui Zheng, Ping Li, Jian-Wei Xie, Jia-Bin Wang, Jian-Xian Lin, Jun Lu, Department of Gastric Surgery, Affiliated Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou 350001, Fujian Province, China Author contributions: Wang HM and Huang CM conceived of the study, analyzed the data, and drafted the manuscript Zheng CH, Li P and Xie JW helped revise the manuscript critically for important intellectual content Wang JB, Lin JX and Lu J helped collect data and design the study and all authors read and approved the final manuscript. 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,38:15
Algorithm and experiments of six-dimensional force/torque dynamic measurements based on a Stewart platform显示文摘Stewart platform(SP) is a promising choice for large component alignment, and interactive force measurements are a novel and significant approach for high-precision assemblies. The designed position and orientation(P&O) adjusting platform, based on an SP for force/torquedriven(F/T-driven) alignment, can dynamically measure interactive forces. This paper presents an analytical algorithm of measuring six-dimensional F/T based on the screw theory for accurate determination of external forces during alignment. Dynamic gravity deviations were taken into consideration and a compensation model was developed. The P&O number was optimized as well.Given the specific appearance of repeated six-dimensional F/T measurements, an approximate cone shape was used for spatial precision analysis. The magnitudes and directions of measured F/Ts can be evaluated by a set of standards, in terms of accuracy and repeatability. Experiments were also performed using a known applied load, and the proposed analytical algorithm was able to accurately predict the F/T. A comparison between precision analysis experiments with or without assembly fixtures was performed. Experimental results show that the measurement accuracy varies under different P&O sets and higher loads lead to poorer accuracy of dynamic gravity compensation. In addition, the preferable operation range has been discussed for high-precision assemblies with smaller deviations.Wen Ke Du Fuzhou Zhang Xianzhi 2016Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2016,29,6:13
Ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsy of intra- hepatic nodules and low elevation of AFP in early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND: With the progress in early clinical treat- ment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), early detection and diagnosis of HCC have been increasingly pressing. Combined alpha-fetoprotein ( AFP) determination and ul- trasonography has become the main method for the detec- tion of small HCC; but the relationship between low eleva- tion of AFP and pathologic findings of small HCC has not been well defined. The aim of this study was to assess the value of ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsy of intrahe- patic nodules and low elevation of serum AFP in the early diagnosis of HCC. METHODS; Fifty-nine patients with serum AFP exceeding 20 ng/ml and intrahepatic nodules varying from 0.8 cm to 5.0 cm in diameter who had been detected by ultrasonogra- phy underwent ultrasound-guided percutaneous fine needle biopsy, and cytological staining and histological sectioning were performed at the same time. RESULTS: Among the 59 patients, 11 patients (18.6%) showed AFP level above 400 ng/ml, 5 (8. 5%) from 200 ng/ml to 400 ng/ml, 18 (30. 5%) from 50 ng/ml to 200 ng/ml and 25 (42. 4% ) from 20 ng/ml to 50 ng/ml. Fol- low-up demonstrated that 53 patients (89.8%) had a pro- gressive increase of AFP level. In 58 patients (98.3%) cancer cells were found by cytological staining and/or his- tological sectioning. CONCLUSIONS: In those patients with slightly increased or continuously positive AFP, hepatic carcinoma should be highly suspected when AFP increases gradually and intrahe- patic nodules are detected by ultrasonography in follow-up. Once intrahepatic carcinoma nodules are suspected, ultra- sound-guided fine needle biopsy should be performed as early as possible for early diagnosis and treatment.Yi-Mi He, Xiao-Yan Wang, Shang-Da Gao, Li-Yun Yu, Xiao-Dong Lin and Li-Wu Lin Fuzhou, China Department of Ultrasonography, Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Provincial Ultrasonic Medical Institute, Fuzhou 350001, China 2005Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2005,4,1:12
Breeding Technology of eui-hybrids of Rice显示文摘Induced mutants of elongated uppermost internode (eui) were directly obtained after irradiation on maintainer (B) and restorer (R) lines of hybrid rice. CMS lines(A) with eui (referred to as eA), restorer lines with eui (referred to as eR) as well as hybrid rice with eui gene (referred to as e-hybrids)were developed. The results showed that the eui mutation frequency averaged 0.10‰ at a range of 0.02‰ - 0.47‰,varying with applied dosage and mutated materials. Genetic diversities of eui stock, and a new eui gene, temporarily designated as eui2(t), was identified. eA lines have a significantly elongated uppermost internode causing better panicle exsertion and possessing higher outcrossing potential. e-hybrids increased plant height by 3 - 10 cm and headed 2 - 3 days earlier, as well as showed greater grain weight resulting in higher yield potential than that of corresponding original hybrids. The technology systems without GA3, a few of using GA3 in hybrid rice seed production, and the establishment of e-hybrid rice breeding system were also discussed in this paper.YANG Ren-cui, ZHANG Shu-biao, HUANG Rong-hua, YANG Shu-Ian and ZHANG Qing-qi(Institute of Genetics and Crop Breeding , Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University, Fuzhou 350002 , P. 13Joint exploration of crustal structure in Fuzhou basin and its vicinities by deep seismic reflection and high-resolution refraction as well as wide-angle reflection/refraction显示文摘The Fuzhou basin and its vicinities are located at the northern end of the southeastern coastal seismic zone of the mainland of China. By the joint explorations of high-resolution seismic refraction and wide-angle reflection/refraction as well as deep seismic reflection in the region, which is the first synthetic profile in China, its fine velocity structure and geometric structure from the ground to Moho discontinuity is obtained. The result shows that the crust is obviously layered with a thickness of about 32 km. Basically, it consists of two parts: upper crust and lower crust. The velocity of the upper crust is 5.9-6.2 km/s in which there is a 3-4-km-thick weak low-velocity layer between the depths of 10-15 km, while the velocity of the lower crust in the range of 6.3-7.2 km/s. There exists a strong velocity gradient layer about 3 km thick above the Moho discontinuity whose velocity increases from 6.5 to 7.27 km/s. There exist high-angle normal faults that are small in size and extend only in the shallow crust. These faults are the secondary developed on the hanging wall of westward dipping low-angle normal faults. Thus, their seismogenic ability is limited, however, there exists a high-angle deep fault in the crust from Changle-Zaoan fault zone to seashore fault zone. This deep fault has cut the interface between the upper and lower crusts and Moho discontinuity, and may be the deep structure to trigger destructive earthquake source in future to affect Fuzhou City. These results have advanced the detecting precision of the deep structure in the southeastern coastal seismic zone of the mainland of China. In the aspect of the combined feature of the deep and shallow extensional structures that consist of the westward dipping low-angle normal faults and secondary normal faults on their hanging walls in the upper crust, it is firstly obtained that a united structural interpretation has deepened the knowledge about the deep dynamic process in the southeastern coastal seismic zone. At the same time, in synthetic application of deep seismic detecting methods for deep tectonic background, it possesses a wide referenced meaning to the other regions.ZHU Jinfang1, XU Xiwei2, ZHANG Xiankang3, HUANG Zonglin1, CHEN Xiangxiong1, FANG Shengming3, LIU Baojin3, ZHENG Rongzhang2,4 1. 14Transient Temperature Field Analysis of Brake in Nonaxisymmetric Three-dimensional Model显示文摘The disk-pad brake used in automobile is divided i nt o two parts: the disk, geometrically axisymmetric, and the pad, of which the geo metry is three-dimensional. In the course of braking, all parameters of the pro cesses (velocity, load, temperature, physicomechanical and tribological characte ristics of materials of the couple, and conditions of contacts) vary with the ti me. Considerable evidence has show that the contact temperature is an integral f actor reflecting the specific power friction influence at the combined effect of load, speed, friction coefficient, thermo physical and durability properties of materials of a frictional couple. Furthermore, the physic mechanical state of t he interface of the disk and pads is determined not only by the contact temperat ure but also by the nonstationary temperature field. Using the two-dimensional model for thermal analysis implies that the contact conditions and frictiona l heat flux transfer are independent of θ. This may lead to false thermal elast ic distortions and unrealistic contact conditions. An analytical model is presen ted in this paper for the determination of contact temperature distribution on t he working surface of a brake. To consider the effects of the moving heat source (the pad) with relative sliding speed variation, a transient finite element tec hnique is used to characterize the temperature fields of the solid rotor with ap propriate thermal boundary conditions. And the transient heat conduction problem can be solved as a nominal 3-D transient heat transfer problem with an immovab le heat source. Numerical results shows that the operating characteristics of th e brake exert an essentially influence on the surface temperature distribution a nd the maximal contact temperature. The temperature field presents a noaxisymmet ric characteristic (a function of θ) and proves to be strongly localized and po ssesses a sharp gradient in both axial and radial directions.GAO Chen-hui, LIN Xie-zhao (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Fuzhuo University, Fuzhou 35000 2, China) 2002厦门大学学报(自然科学版)2002,41,S1:10
G-Frames and g-Frame Sequences in Hilbert Spaces显示文摘In this paper, we first determine the relations among the best bounds A and B of theg-frame, the g-frame operator S and the pre-frame operator Q and give a necessary and sufficientcondition for a g-frame with bounds A and B in a complex Hilbert space. We also introduce thedefinition of a g-frame sequence and obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a g-frame sequencewith bounds A and B in a complex Hilbert space. Lastly, we consider the stability of a g-frame sequencefor a complex Hilbert space under perturbation.Yan Jin WANG Yu Can ZHU~(1))Department of Mathematics,Fuzhou University,Fuzhou 350002,P. R. 16Experimental study on ultrasound-guided intratumoral injection of“Star-99”in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma of nude mice显示文摘AIM: To investigate the anti-cancer effect and the immunological mechanism of ultrasound-guided intratumoral injection of Chinese medicine 'Star-99' in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) of nude mice.METHODS: Twenty-eight human hepatocellular carcinoma SMMC-7721 transplanted nude mice, 14 of hypodermically implanted and 14 of orthotopic liver transplanted, were randomly divided into three groups of which 14 mice with Star-99, and 7 with ethanol and saline respectively. Ten days after the transplantation the medicines were injected into the tumors of all the nude mice once every 5 days. After 4 injections the nude mice were killed. The diameters of three dimension of the tumors were measured by high frequency ultrasound before and after the treatment and the tumor growth indexes* (TGI) were calculated.Radioimmunoassay was used to detect the serum levels of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha.The tumor tissues were sent for flow cytometry (FCM) DNA analysis. Apoptotic cells were visualized by TUNEL assay. All the experiments were carried out by double blind method. zRESULTS: The TGI of Star-99 group (0.076±0.024) was markedly lower than that of the saline group (4.654±1.283)(P<0.01). It also seemed to be lower than that of the ethanol group (0.082±0.028), but not significantly different (P>0.05).Serum levels of IL-2 and TNF-α were markedly higher than those of ethanol group and saline groups (P<0.05). The mean apoptotic index (AI: percentage of TUNEL signal positive cells)in Star-99 group (48.98±5.09 %) was significantly higher than that of the ethanol group (11.95±2.24 %) and the saline group (10.48±3.85 %) (P<0.01). FCM DNA analysis showed that the appearance rate of the apoptosis peak in Srar-99group was 92.9 %, markedly higher than that of the ethanol group (14.3 %) and the saline group (0.0 %) (P<0.01).Correlation (r=0.499, P<0.05) was found between AI and serum level of TNF-α.CONCLUSION: Star-99 has an effect on the elevation of the serum levels of IL-2 and TNF-α. ft indicates that Star99 has the function of enhancing the cellular immunity and inducing cancer cell apoptosis. The correlation between AI and serum level of TNF-α indicates that the elevation of the serum of TNF-α induced by Star-99 may be an important factor in the promotion of the hepatic cancer cell apoptosis.Star-99 has strong effects on the inhibition and destruction of cancer cells. Its curative effect is as good as ethanol. Its major mechanisms can be as follows: (1) it increases the serum levels of IL-2 and TNF-α and triggers cellular immunity. (2) It can induce cancer cells apoptosis, the effective mechanism of the Star-99 is different from that of the ethanol. The mechanisms of triggering the immunologic function of the organism and inducing cell apoptosis are, of particular significance. This study will provide a new pathway of drug administration and an experimental basis for the treatment of HCC with Chinese herbal, and the study of Star-99 in the treatment of tumor is of profound significance with good prospects.Li-Wu Lin Xiao-Dong Lin Yi-Mi He Shang-Da Gao En-Sheng Xue Department of Ultrasound,Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University,Fuzhou 350001,Fujian Province,China 2003World Journal of Gastroenterology2003,9,4:9
AN ASSESSMENT OF LAND USE CHANGES IN FUQING COUNTYOF CHINA USING REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGY显示文摘Fuqing County of southeast China has witnessed significant land use changes during the last decade. Re mote sensing technology using multitemporal Landsat TM images was used to characterize land use types and to monitor land use changes in the county. Two TM scenes from 1991 and 1996 were used to cover the county and a five-year time period. Digital image processing was carried out for the remotely sensed data to produce classified images. The images were further processed using GIS software to generate GIS databases so that the data could be further spatially analyzed taking the advantages of the software. Land use change areas were determined by using the change detection technique. The comparison of the two classified TM images using the above technologies reveals that during the five study years, a large area of arable lands in the county has been lost and deforestation has taken place largely because of the dramatic in crease in built-up land and orchard. The conclusive statistical information is useful to understand the processes, causes and impacts of the land use changes in the county. The major driving force to the land use changes in the county ap peared to be the rapid economic development. The decision makers of the county have to pay more attention to the land use changes for the county’s sustainable development.XU Han-qiu( Department of Environmental and Resources Engineering, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou 350002, P. 18Fenton Reagent Generated in Electrolysis Cell and Its Usage in Degradation and Decolorization of Dyes显示文摘The Electro-chemistry process to produce Fenton reagents has been described. The in situ oxidation of dyes, acid chrome and alizarin red(Fenton reagents) with electrogenerated hydroxyl radicals was investigated. The \{ I-V \} cyclic voltammograms were measured. The redox peaks of the dyes were not observed in the treated dye solutions instead of a couple of O2/H2O2 redox peaks. The IR results indicate that acid chrome dye was decomposed into naphthylamine and phenol aminophenol sulfonic acid. The degradation and the decolorization of the dyes were comfirmed by the visible spectrum and the chemical analysis. The COD cr removing rate was close to 80%.CHEN Zhen ** , ZHENG Xi, CHEN Ri-yao, LAN Rui-fang, LIN Zhi-hong and CHEN Yu-feng Experiment Center, Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou 350007, P. R. 19Preconditioning effects on expression of proto-oncogenes c-fos and c-jun after hepatic ischemia/reperfusion in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Ischemia/reperfusion is the main cause of hepatic damage in liver transplantation. Immediate early genes (IEGs) encode proteins can regulate expression of cellular response genes after injury, and is associated with tissue repair and cell apoptosis. The purpose of this re- search was to investigate the effects of preconditioning on expression of immediate early genes c-fos and c-jun follow- ing hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (IR) and its roles in cellu- lar regeneration and apoptosis. METHODS: Ninety-six Wistar rats were randomly divided into IR group and hepatic ischemic preconditioning (IPC) group, and each group was further divided into eight sub- groups (n =6). The model of partial liver ischemia/reper- fusion was used. The rats were subjected to 60-minute liver ischemia, preceded by 10-minute preconditioning. After 0-, 0.5-, 1-, 2-, 4-, 8-, 12-, 24-hour reperfusion, the se- rum and liver tissue in each group were collected to detect the level of serum ALT/AST, liver histopathology, expres- sion of c-fos, and c-jun mRNA. Flow cytometer was used to detect Ki67 and Sub-G1 as the quantity indicators of cell regeneration and apoptosis respectively. RESULTS: Compared with IR group, IPC group showed a significantly lower ALT/AST level in 0. 5-hour sub-group to 8-hour sub-group (P<0.05). Ki67 elevated significantly at 0.5, 1, 2 hours, but decreased significantly at 24 hours ( P < 0 . 05). Ap index decreased significantly after 1-hour reperfusion(P<0.05). Expressions of c-fos and c-jun mR- NA were low, especially c-jun at 0.5, 1 and 2 hours after reperfusion. CONCLUSION: Ischemic preconditioning can protect liver cells against ischemia/reperfusion injury, and this protec- tive effect may be related to influence transcription levels of c-fos and c-jun.Jian-Sheng Xiao, Fang-Gang Cai, Ying Niu, Yi Zhang, Xian-Ling Xu and Qi-Fa Ye Wuhan, China Research Institute of Organ Transplantation, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430030, China Department of General Surgery, First Affiliated Hospital, Fujian Medi- cal College, Fuzhou 350005, China and Xiangya Medical Trans- plantation Academy of Central South University, Changsha 410013, China 2005Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2005,4,2:8
