| 1 | Effect of oxidization on enrichment behavior of TiO_2 in titanium-bearing slag显示文摘Due to the dispersed distribution of the titanium component in various mineral phases and very fine grain size, it is difficult to recover the titanium component from the slag. In order to utilize titanium resources, selective enriching and selective growing of the titanium component from the molten slag is expected. In this paper, the selection of the best tita- nium enrichment phase and the effect of oxidization on the enrichment of titanium by blowing air into the molten slag were studied. The results showed that through oxidizing the slag, the content of the perovskite phase increases while that of the other titanium-bearing mineral phases decreases until they disappear. Most titania resources were enriched into the perovskite phase and increase in size. | 2 | Microstructure and Properties of Low Temperature Composite Chromized Layer on H13 Tool Steel显示文摘Low temperature composite chromizing is a process composed of a plain ion-carbonitriding or ion-nitriding at 550~580℃, followed by a low-temperature chromizing in a salt-bath of 590℃. The microstructure and properties of the low temperature composite chromized layer on H13 tool steel were investigated using metallography,X-ray diffraction, microanalysis, hardness and wear tests. It was found that this low temperature process was thermodynamically and kinetically possible, and the composite chromized layer on H13 steel, with a thickness of 3~6μm,consisted of three sub-layers (bands), viz. the outer Cr-rich one, the intermediate (black) one, and the inner, original white layer. After chromizing, the former diffusion layer was thickened. The results of X-ray diffraction showed that the composite chromized layer contained such nitrides and carbides of chromium as CrN, Cr2N, (Cr, Fe)23C6, and (Cr, Fe)7C3, as well as plain α-(Fe, Cr). A high surface microhardness of 1450~1550 HV0.025, which is much higher than that obtained by the conventional ion carbonitriding and ion nitriding, was obtained. | 3 | Decomposition Reaction of Mixed Rare Earth Concentrate and Roasted with CaO and NaCl显示文摘The reaction of the mixed rare earth concentrate including monazite ( REPO4 ) and bastnaesite ( REFCO3 )decomposed by CaO and NaCl additives at the temperature range from 100 to 1000 ℃ was studied by means of XRD and TG-DTA.The results show that when CaO and NaCl are not added, only REFCO3 can be decomposed at the temperature of 377 ~ 450 ℃.The decomposition products include REOF, RE2O3 and CeO2.However, REFCO3 can not be decomposed.When CaO is added, the decomposition reactions occur at the temperature range from 660 to 750 ℃.CaO has three decomposition functions: ( 1 ) REPO4 can be decomposed by CaO and the decomposition products include RE2O3 and Ca3 (PO4)2; (2) CaO can decompose REOF, and the decomposition products are RE2O3 and CaF2; (3)CaO can decompose REPO4 with CaF2, and the decomposition products are RE2 O3, Ca5 F( PO4 )3.The decomposition ratio of the mixed rare earth concentrate increased obviously, when CaO and NaC1 were added.NaC1 can supply the liquid for the reaction, improve the mass transfer process and accelerate the reaction.At the same time, NaC1 participated in the reaction that REPO4 was decomposed by CaO. | Wu Wenyuan Hu Guangyong Sun Shuchen Chen Xudong Tu Ganfeng | 2004 | Journal of Rare Earths2004,22,z1: | 7 |
| 4 | On the modification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys using rare earth Er显示文摘Hypereutectic Al-17.5Si (wt pct) and Al-25Si (wt pct) alloys with various content of rare earth Er were prepared by conventional casting technique. The effect of Er on the microstructure and properties of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy as well as friction and wear tests. It was found that optimal amount of Er exists in modifying the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. An appropriate addition of Er improved the anti-wear properties, and reduced the friction coefficient of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys studied. The primary silicon crystals in the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys were refined with the suitable addition of Er element. | 6 | Solubility of RE_2O_3(RE=La and Nd) in light rare earth fluoride molten salts显示文摘The chemical reaction and dissolution processes of RE_2 O_3 in REF_3-LiF(RE = La and Nd) molten salts were studied by X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis and chemical analysis. Firstly, RE_2 O_3 disperses in molten salts and reacts with REF_3 and LiF, which lead to the generation of a new phase REOF, resulting in the dissociation or formation of complex ions by part of REOF, and the sedimentation of excessive REOF at the bottom. The RE contents in molten salts were used to determine the solubility of RE_2 O_3. The results show that with 20 mol%-40 mol% of REF_3, the solubility ranges from 1.79 to 3.05 g RE_2 O_3 per100 g electrolyte and the corresponding mole concentration is 0.33%-0.87%. RE_2 O_3 solubility increases with increasing temperature and REF_3 concentration. The natural logarithm of the RE_2 O_3 solubility is plotted against 1/T and can be interpreted by linear relationship. | 8 | Effect of DH treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of an LM28-0.3wt.%Nd hypereutectic aluminum silicon alloy显示文摘In this article, a novel heat treatment method, deformation heat (DH) treatment (extrusion + aging), was employed on a hypereutectic aluminum silicon alloy (LM28-0.3wt.%Nd), and its effect on microstructure and mechanical properties of this alloy was investigated. It can be concluded that the eutectic microstructure disappears after the DH treatment, in the meantime the morphology of α(Al) solid solution was transformed from fir-tree and cellular to equiaxed, Si was refined with grain sizes of about 1-10 μm and distributed dispersedly, even some of them became globular shape, which can reduce stress accumulation effectively. Mechanical properties test indicated that the DH treatment could significantly improve the room-temperature strength and have little effect on the high-temperature strength of LM28-0.3wt.%Nd alloy. | 18 | Tensile and Fracture Behavior of DZ68 Ni-base Superalloy显示文摘The tensile and fracture behavior of DZ68 directionally solidified Ni-base superalloy was studied in the temperature range of room temperature (RT) to 1000°C. The fracture mode was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show the tensile strength and yield strength of DZ68 alloy increase slightly with increasing temperature, so that at 760°C its reach maxima value: 1214 and 1019 MPa, respectively. When the experimental temperature is higher than 760°C, the tensile and yield strengths decrease evidently and the ductility increases remarkably. The fractograph of fracture surface for the tensile specimen at room temperature shows a dimple-ductile fracture mode. The fractograph from 760 to 850°C shows a slide fracture mode.
