| 1 | Effect of KBr on the micellar properties of CTAB显示文摘The effect of KBr on the size, shape and microviscosity of CTAB micelles has been investigated by means of laser light scattering (LLS), 1H NMR measurements and fluorescence probe. The data obtained from the various techniques are quantitatively in agreement. The Rh of micelles in 0.01 mol ·L-1 CTAB solution increases from 3.5 nm to 43 nm and Rg increases to 89 nm with addition of KBr salt. In this process, both the microviscosity and molecular weight of micelles Mw have noticeable increases, too. | 2 | Research on colored lyotropic liquid crystals显示文摘Splendidly colored lyotropic liquid crystals formed in the ternary system of a novel cationic surfactant, 3-p-nonylphenoxy-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (NPTAB)-n-butanol-water system, had been ob-served under polarized light microscope. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), 2H (deuterium) quadrupolar splitting (2H NMR) were employed to confirm the structures of these liq-uid crystals. The structural transformation of these special lyotropic liquid crystals had been confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The influences of liquid crystal film thickness, temperature and conserving time on the color of liquid crystals have been investigated. | 3 | Formation of wormlike mi-celles in anionic surfactant AES aqueous solutions显示文摘The growth and structure of anionic micelles of sodium dodecyl trioxyethylene sulfate (AES) in the presence of multivalent counterion Al3+ were investigated by means of dynamic rheological methods. It has been obtained by themeasurements of shear viscosity, complex viscosity anddynamic moduli, as well as the application of Cox-Merz rule and Cole-Cole plot that wormlike micelle and networkstructure could be formed in AES/AlCl3 aqueous solutions. The structure was of a character of nonlinear viscoelasticfluid and departure from the simple Maxwell model.
