2Telomere-to-telomere genome of the allotetraploid legume Sesbania cannabina reveals transposon-driven subgenome divergence and mechanisms of alkaline stress tolerance显示文摘Alkaline soils pose an increasing problem for agriculture worldwide, but using stress-tolerant plants as green manure can improve marginal land. Here,we show that the legume Sesbania cannabina is very tolerant to alkaline conditions and, when used as a green manure, substantially improves alkaline soil.To understand genome evolution and the mechanisms of stress tolerance in this allotetraploid legume,we generated the first telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of S.cannabina spanning~2,087 Mb.The assembly included all centromeric regions, which contain centromeric satellite repeats, and complete chromosome ends with telomeric characteristics.Further genome analysis distinguished A and B subgenomes, which diverged approximately 7.9 million years ago.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the chromosome homoeologs underwent large-scale inversion events(>10 Mb)and a significant,transposon-driven size expansion of the chromosome 5A homoeolog. We further identified four specific alkali-induced phosphate transporter genes in S.cannabina;these may function in alkali tolerance by relieving the deficiency in available phosphorus in alkaline soil. Our work highlights the significance of S.cannabina as a green tool to improve marginal lands and sheds light on subgenome evolution and adaptation to alkaline soils.Haofei Luo Xiaofei Wang Changqing You Xuedan Wu Duofeng Pan Zhiyao Lv Tong Li Dongmei Zhang Zhongbao Shen Xiaodong Zhang Guodao Liu Kaixuan He Qingtong Ye Yajun Jia Qinghua Zhao Xian Deng Xiaofeng Cao Xianwei Song Gai Huang 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,1:0
3Mining and utilization of salinity tolerant legumes in tropical coastal agroecosystems: An overview显示文摘Coastal saline soils are increasing year by year caused by climate change and human activities. Most of the coastal saline soils are idle due to their high salinity level and few crops can grow normally.Salinity tolerant legumes are naturally tolerant to salt, which can ecologically cover the coastal saline soil, enhance soil fertility by symbiotic nitrogen fixation and increase the smallholder farmers’benefits in terms of forage, green manure, food or medicine. However, few reports are available for the systematic evaluation of salinity tolerant legumes. This review summarizes and evaluates currently available salinity tolerant legume species that could potentially be used and discusses their potential for integration into smallholder mixed coastal systems of the Asia-Pacific region.Fourty four salinity tolerant legumes were summarized, six of them showed a high level of salinity tolerance,17 of them showed a moderate level of salinity tolerance and 21 of them showed potential salinity tolerance but need to be further studied. Many gaps such as combined tolerance evaluation, nitrogen fixation efficiency, animal feeding experiments and salinity tolerant rhizobia screening/inoculants exist.Case studies demonstrate legumes could be used to reclaim coastal saline soils, but commitment and support from government and public services are necessary to address both seed system and extension needs, through the provision of adequate incentives, policies and development efforts.Yiming Liu Mary Atieno Juan Andres Cardoso Hubiao Yang Bin Xu Rongshu Dong Linling Yan Chunqiong Huang Hengfu Huan Daogeng Yu Sabine Douxchamps Guodao Liu 2022Grass Research2022,2,1:0
4Diffusion Insighter:Visual Analysis of Traffic Diffusion Flow Patterns显示文摘Traffic jam has become a severe urban problem to most metropolises in the world. How to understand and resolve these traffic problems has become a global issue. In the new era of big data, visualization and analysis with traffic-related data are increasingly appreciated. This paper presents DiffusionI nsighter, a web-based visual traffic analysis system, that allows users to explore the traffic flow and diffusion patterns with different spatial and temporal granularity. The DiffusionI nsighter first applies a visual data cleaning and filtering component to remove dirty data and remain available ones for further analysis. A set of carefully designed interaction and visualization tools including geographical view, pixel map view, chord diagram and network diffusion view is proposed in the DiffusionI nsighter to support level-of-detail exploration of diffusion patterns of the traffic flow. Different views are collaborated together and are integrated into geographic map. A series of real-life case studies are conducted using a large GPS tra jectory dataset of taxis in Hangzhou.SUN Guodao LI Si CAO Dizhou LIU Chunhui JIANG Xiaorui LIANG Ronghua 2018Chinese Journal of Electronics2018,27,5:0
