1The Formation of Nano-Size SiO_2 Thin Film on an Aluminum Plate with Hexamethyldisilazane (HMDSA) and Hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO)显示文摘This study is using HMDSA(C6H19NSi2)or HMDSO(C6H18OSi2) vapor into C3H8/air premixed flames to form SiO2 thin film on the surface of an aluminum palte.With the addition of HMDSO or HMDS to premixed flames,an orange secondary flame or a flame brush appeared and was contributed to the formation of SiO2 particles.Based upon the EDS,XPS and FTIR analysis ,it is believed that the synthesized products consist of mainly SiO2 and a small amount of SiO,The pure SiO2 crystal structure,was proved by XRD analysis,which may form form the SiO2 amorphous structure after high temperature(1300℃) thermal treatment.The nano-size SIO2 particles,which ranged form 2.5-25nm,are proved by analysis of the BET and TEM.A 2-D CFD-RC code with 12 reduced chemical reaction mechanism.based upon the SIMPLER procedure,was successfully employed to predict the flame temperature and both of the SiO2 and SiO concentration profiles.Compared with the experimental results,the calculated temperature profiles in the post-flame region are in good agreement with the measured data and observation phenomena.H.K.Ma E.Zhao K.M.Chung C.L.Yeh 2003Journal of Thermal Science2003,12,1:3
2The Reduction of Thermal Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) Emission Using Staged Combustion in Furnace显示文摘The experimental study described in this paper is to investigated the control of thermal nitrogen oxides emissions from a 2.28 MW gas-fired test furnace.Tests,including changing axial or radial air flow rate.adding cooling water,and adding staged air,were performed to characterize and opimize the fuel-rich burning zone and the fuel-lean burnout zone independently.Detailed measurements of O2,CO2,CO,NOand NOx were made at the fuel-rich burning zone and furnace exit.The influence of forming CO,NO and NOx was examined.Results indicated that adding staged air in the fuel-rich burning zone(75cm from burner)will reduce the maximum NO and NOx emissions.Adding cooling water in a right position may further lower the NO and NOx emissions.In addition,the least formation of thermal nitrogen oxides in the first stage fuel-rich burning zone will occur at the stoichiometric ratio's inverse value ,(φ1)^-1,0.65 to 0.7.H.K.Ma D.M.Hsieh 1993Journal of Thermal Science1993,2,1:1
3Asymptotic Analysis of Transport Properties and Burning Velocities for Premixed Hydrocarbon Flames显示文摘Based on premixed flame, the theoretical model of transport properties with temperature variation was established inside a preheated zone. Lewis number of the deficient-to- stoichiometric hydrocarbon/air mixture has been theoretically predicted over a wide range of preheated temperature. These predictions are compared with the experimental data on disport properties that exist in the literature. The response of the burning velocity to flame stretch can be parameterized by the laminar flame speed and Markstein length. Therefore, if the laminar flame speed and Markstein number could be accurately simulated by using an analytic expression of characterized temperature, equivalence ratio, and Lewis number, the results are applicable to the prediction of methane, acetylene, ethylene, ethane, and propane flames. Expanding previous studies on the extinction of premixed flames under the influence of stretch and incomplete reaction, the results were further classified and rescaled. 4Mixing and Recirculation Characteristics of A Double Concentric Burner with Bluff-Body显示文摘The concentric bluff-body jet burner is widely used in industrial combustion systems.This kind of burner often generates a considerably complex recirculation zone behind the bluff body.As a result,the fuel often remains in the recirculation zone,achieving stability of flame.This study investigates,by means of experiments,the variations of the aerodynamics as the fluid is injected into a combustion chamber through a doble concentric burner with a bluff-body.The observation and measurement of the aerodynamics in our experiment are conducted under a cold flow.The controlled parameters in our experiment are:variations in the blockage ratio of the center bluff body,the cone angle of the bluff body,and the velocity ratio(Us/Up) of the secondary jet and primary jet;the injection of helium bubbles into the primary and secondary jets to observe the recirculation zone behind the bluff body;using Tufts for obseving the characteristics of corner recirculation zone in a combustion chamber,measuring the average velocity of each point within the aerodynamics by the 5-hole pitot tube;measuring the distribution of static pressure of the combustion chamber walls with a static pressure tap.H.K.Ma C.H.Chiou J.S.Harn 1993Journal of Thermal Science1993,2,4:0
