1The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. 2Pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon derived from bimetal organic frameworks for high capacity zinc ion hybrid capacitors with remarkable rate capability显示文摘Aqueous zinc ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs)hold great potential for large-scale energy storage applications owing to their high safety and low cost,but suffer from low capacity and energy density.Herein,pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon(nPC)was successfully synthesized via the growth,subsequent annealing and acid etching of bimetal organic frameworks for high capacity and safe ZIHCs with exceptional rate capability.Benefiting from the mesopores for easy ion diffusion,high electrical conductivity enabled by in-situ grown carbon nanotubes matrix and residual metal Co nanoparticles for fast electron transfer,sufficient micropores and high N content(8.9 at%)with dominated pyridinic N(54%)for enhanced zinc ion storage,the resulting nPC cathodes for ZIHCs achieved high capacities of 302 and137 m Ah g^(-1) at 1 and 18 A g^(-1),outperforming most reported carbon based cathodes.Theoretical results further disclosed that pyridinic N possessed larger binding energy of-4.99 eV to chemically coordinate with Zn2+than other N species.Moreover,quasi-solid-state ZIHCs with gelatin based gel electrolytes exhibited high energy density of 157.6 Wh kg^(-1) at 0.69 kW kg^(-1),high safety and mechanical flexibility to withstand mechanical deformation and drilling.This strategy of developing pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon will pave a new avenue to construct safe ZIHCs with high energy densities.Yao Li Pengfei Lu Ping Shang Lisha Wu Xiao Wang Yanfeng Dong Ronghuan He Zhong-Shuai Wu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:3

11Integration of Theory and Practice in Chemistry Teaching of Higher Education-Taking Electrochemistry as an Example显示文摘The principles or laws involved in foundation teaching usually have prerequisite conditions or assumptions for their application.In order to help students quickly grasp the knowledge they need to learn and ensure the systematic nature of the teaching content,the completeness of the knowledge points,and the achievement of teaching tasks,the applicability of the principles or laws beyond the boundary conditions or assumptions is usually not extensively discussed.This often leads to deviations between theory and experiment in scientific research and practical applications,and is also a common cause of confusion in the process of connecting theory and practice.To address this weak link in the teaching of chemical principles or laws,we take several examples such as reversible processes in electrochemistry,Nernst equation,battery electrode polarization,etc.,to elaborate the connection between theory and practice as a supplement for teaching.We hope this could help students better understand what they have learned and to deal with problems by flexibly using the chemical laws and principles。WANG Zejun CHEN Shuai HE Ronghuan 2024US-China Education Review(A)2024,14,1:0
