2Bi-directional Selection in Upland Rice Leads to Its Adaptive Differentiation from Lowland Rice in Drought Resistance and Productivity显示文摘Drought resistance is required in rice breeding to address the challenge of frequent droughts . However, the evolutionary mechanism of rice drought resistance is not fully understood. We investigated the genetic differentiation between upland and lowland rice domesticated in agro-ecosystems with contrasting water-soil conditions using genome-wide SNPs. We estimated morphological differences among upland and lowland rice in drought resistance and productivity through common garden experiments. Upland rice had better drought resistance but poorer productivity. The negative correlations between traits of drought resistance and productivity are attributed to the underlying genetic trade-offs through tight linkages (e.g., DCA1 and OsCesA7) or pleiotropic effects (e.g., LAX1). The genetic trade-offs are comm on and greatly shape the evolutio n of drought resista nee in upland rice . In genomic regions associated with both productivity and drought resistance, signs of balancing selection were detected in upland rice, while signs of directional selection were detected in lowland rice, potentially contributing to their adaptive differentiation. Signs of balancing selection in upland rice resulted from bi-directional selection during its domestication in drought-prone upland agro-ecosystems.Using genome-wide association analysis, we ide ntified several valuable quantitative trait loci associated with drought resista nee, for which highly differentiated genes should be considered candidates. 3Target-enclosing affine formation control of two-layer networked spacecraft with collision avoidance显示文摘This paper addresses a target-enclosing problem for multiple spacecraft systems by proposing a two-layer affine formation control strategy. Compared with the existing methods,the adopted two-layer network structure in this paper is generally directed, which is suitable for practical space missions. Firstly, distributed finite-time sliding-mode estimators and formation controllers in both layers are designed separately to improve the flexibility of the formation control system. By introducing the properties of affine transformation into formation control protocol design,the controllers can be used to track different time-varying target formation patterns. Besides, multilayer time-varying encirclements can be achieved with particular shapes to surround the moving target. In the sequel, by integrating adaptive neural networks and specialized artificial potential functions into backstepping controllers, the problems of uncertain Euler-Lagrange models, collision avoidance as well as formation reconfiguration are solved simultaneously. The stability of the proposed controllers is verified by the Lyapunov direct method. 4Study on the deactivation and regeneration of the ZSM-5 catalyst used in methanol to olefins显示文摘ZSM-5 zeolite catalyst modified by a trace of metal cations shows high activity and high selectivity for the reaction of methanol to olefins (MTO), but it inclines to deactivate during the reaction. In this paper, the mechanism of the catalyst deactivation and the regeneration method were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption-desorption, infrared spectra (IR), and infrared spectra coupled with NH3 molecular probes (IR-NH3). These characterizations indicated that coke formation was the main reason for the catalyst deactivation. To regenerate the deactivated catalyst, two methods, i.e., calcination and methanol leaching, were used. N2 adsorption-desorption, IR and IR-NH3 characteriza-tions showed that both methods can eliminate coke deposited on the catalyst and make the catalyst reactivated. XRD showed that the structure of the catalyst did not change after regeneration. Interestingly, the regenerated catalyst even showed better catalytic performance of the MTO reaction than the fresh one. 6A method of multichannel chaotic phase modulation spread spectrum and its application in underwater acoustic communication显示文摘Direct-sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) communication possesses low probability of detection and has been widely used in confidential communications.However,pseudo-noise(PN) sequences,used as spreading code in conventional DSSS communications,possess periodic character and binary value.In hostile environments,these distinct characters may lead to some important parameters of signals being estimated accurately,and then lead to the leakage of transmitted information.To solve the problem,we propose the chaotic phase modulation(CPM) sequence alternating the PN sequences.CPM sequence has complex values and constant envelope,and also possesses large quantity and good correlation characteristics.Moreover,it has more hidden features than conventional sequences by modulating its phases using chaotic sequence.To improve the data rate,we apply it into the technique of multichannel communication.Simulation results show this scheme's superior bit error ratio(BER) performance,which demonstrates its feasibility in underwater acoustic communications.SHU Xiujun WANG Haibin WANG Jun YANG Xiaoxia 2017Chinese Journal of Acoustics2017,36,1:7
7Nanoparticles carrying neurotrophin-3-modified Schwann cells promote repair of sciatic nerve defects显示文摘Schwann cells and neurotrophin-3 play an important role in neural regeneration,but the secretion of neurotrophin-3 from Schwann cells is limited,and exogenous neurotrophin-3 is inactived easily in vivo.In this study,we have transfected neurotrophin-3 into Schwann cells cultured in vitro using nanoparticle liposomes.Results showed that neurotrophin-3 was successfully transfected into Schwann cells,where it was expressed effectively and steadily.A composite of Schwann cells transfected with neurotrophin-3 and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) biodegradable conduits was transplanted into rats to repair 10-mm sciatic nerve defects.Transplantation of the composite scaffold could restore the myoelectricity and wave amplitude of the sciatic nerve by electrophysiological examination,promote nerve axonal and myelin regeneration,and delay apoptosis of spinal motor neurons.Experimental findings indicate that neurotrophin-3 transfected Schwann cells combined with bridge grafting can promote neural regeneration and functional recovery after nerve injury.Haibin Zong Hongxing Zhao Yilei Zhao Jingling Jia Libin Yang Chao Ma Yang Zhang Yuzhen Dong 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,14:7
8Abrasion Resistance Enhancement of Ultrafine-structured WC-Co Coating Fabricated by using in situ Synthesized Composite Powder显示文摘The ultrafine WC—Co composite powder was synthesized by a newly developed rapid route based on in situ reactions.By using the as-synthesized composite powder,the granulation processing was then carried out to prepare the ultrafine-structured thermal spraying feedstock.The influences of the heat-treatment process on density of the feedstock powder,phase constitution and wear resistance of the resultant WC—Co coatings fabricated by high velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF) were investigated.The results showed that increasing the heating temperature and extending the holding time leaded to remarkable increase in the density and flowability of the feedstock powder.As a result,the decarburization of the in-flight particles could be decreased and the wear resistance of coating was significantly enhanced.The present study demonstrated that the developed techniques for the ultrafine powder and its thermal-sprayed coatings had very promising applications in scaling up to produce ultrafine-structured cermet coatings with excellent performance.Haibin Wang Xiaoyan Song Chongbin Wei Yang Gao Guangsheng Guo 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,11:7
9Sedimentary and geochemical evidence of Eocene climate change in the Xining Basin, northeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The northeastern Tibetan Plateau began to grow during the Eocene and it is important to understand the climatic history of Asia during this period of so-called ‘doubthouse' conditions. However, despite major advances in the last few decades,the evolutionary history and possible mechanisms of Eocene climate change in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau remain unclear.The Xining Basin in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau contains a continuous sequence of Early to Late Eocene non-marine sediments which provides the opportunity to resolve long-term climate changes during this period. In this study, we report the results of analyses of lithofacies, sediment color and geochemistry of bulk samples collected from the Xijigou section of the Xining Basin. An abrupt lithofacies change between the Early(~52–40 Ma) and Late Eocene(~40–34 Ma) indicates a change in the depositional environment from a shallow lake to a playa lake in response to a significant climatic shift. During ~52–40 Ma,higher values of sediment redness(a*), redness/lightness(a*/L*) and higher modified Chemical Index of Weathering(CIW′)indicate a relatively warm and humid climate, while from ~40–34 Ma the lower values of a*, a*/L*and lower CIW′ imply subhumid to semi-arid climatic conditions. The paleoclimatic records indicate a long-term(~52–34 Ma) trend of decreasing chemical weathering, consistent with global climate change. An abrupt sharp excursion of the proxy records during ~42–40 Ma suggests a relatively brief warm interval, corresponding to the Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum(MECO). 10The use of fire at Zhoukoudian:evidence from magnetic susceptibility and color measurements显示文摘In order to provide direct evidence for the use of fire by humans at Locality 1,Zhoukoudian,we examine the burnt and unburnt sediments of newly excavated area in Layer 4 by detailed measurements of magnetic susceptibility,color,and diffuse reflectance spectrum.Results show that the magnetic susceptibility and redness of the burnt sediments are remarkably higher than those of other areas on the same level:up to*22 times for magnetic susceptibility and*3 times for redness of those of the adjacent unburnt sediments.Fine-grained(superparamagnetic/stable single-domain)magnetite and hematite grains make dominant contributions to the distinctly high values of magnetic susceptibility and redness in the burnt sediments.Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy results show that the burnt sediments contain more hematite than those of other areas and localities 2 and 3.High-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements demonstrate that the burnt sediments have been heated above 700°C.Those changes in low-frequency magnetic susceptibility and redness are impossibly resulted from natural fires,thus most likely signaling the human activities of controlled use of fire.However,further work is needed to confirm whether or not these heat-affected sediments were produced in situ.Yan Zhang Zhengtang Guo Chenglong Deng Shuangquan Zhang Haibin Wu Chunxia Zhang Junyi Ge Deai Zhao Qin Li Yang Song Rixiang Zhu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,10:6
11Effect of Carbon Addition on Microstructure and Properties of WC-Co Cemented Carbides显示文摘Based on a unique method to synthesize WC-Co composite powder by insitu reactions of metal oxides and carbon, the effects of the carbon addition in the initial powders on the phase constitution, microstructure and mechanical properties of the cemented carbides were investigated. It is found that with a suitable carbon addition the pure phase constitution can be obtained in the sintered bulk from the composite powder. The mechanical properties of the cemented carbides depend on the phase constitution and the WC grain structure. 13Live-fly experimentation for pigeon-inspired obstacle avoidance of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles显示文摘In this paper, we applied a pigeon-inspired obstacle-avoidance model to the flight of quadrotor UAVs through environments with obstacles. Pigeons bias their flight direction by considering the largest gap and minimum required steering. Owing to the similarities between pigeon flocks and UAV swarms in terms of mission requirements, the pigeon-inspired obstacle-avoidance model is used to control a UAV swarm so that it can fly through a complex environment with multiple obstacles. 15Different oxidation routes for lattice oxygen recovery of double-perovskite type oxides LaSrFeCoO6 as oxygen carriers for chemical looping steam methane reforming显示文摘Double-perovskite type oxide LaSrFeCoO_6(LSFCO) was used as oxygen carrier for chemical looping steam methane reforming(CL-SMR) due to its unique structure and reactivity. Two different oxidation routes,steam-oxidation and steam-air-stepwise-oxidation, were applied to investigate the recovery behaviors of the lattice oxygen in the oxygen carrier. The characterizations of the oxide were determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction(H_2-TPR) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The fresh sample LSFCO exhibits a monocrystalline perovskite structure with cubic symmetry and high crystallinity, except for a little impurity phase due to the antisite defect of Fe/Co disorder. The deconvolution distribution of XPS patterns indicated that Co,and Fe are predominantly in an oxidized state(Fe^(3+) and Fe^(2+)) and(Co^(2+) and Co^(3+)), while O 1s exists at three species of lattice oxygen, chemisorbed oxygen and physical adsorbed oxygen. The double perovskite structure and chemical composition recover to the original state after the steam and air oxidation, while the Co ion cannot incorporate into the double perovskite structure and thus form the CoO just via individual steam oxidation. 16Face Super-resolution Reconstruction and Recognition Using Non-local Similarity Dictionary Learning Based Algorithm显示文摘One of the challenges of face recognition in surveillance is the low resolution of face region. Therefore many superresolution(SR) face reconstruction methods are proposed to produce a high-resolution face image from one or a set of low-resolution face images. However, existing dictionary learning based algorithms are sensitive to noise and very time-consuming.In this paper, we define and prove the multi-scale linear combination consistency. In order to improve the performance of SR, we propose a novel SR face reconstruction method based on nonlocal similarity and multi-scale linear combination consistency(NLS-MLC). We further proposed a new recognition approach for very low resolution face images based on resolution scale invariant feature(RSIF). A series of experiments are conducted on two public face image databases to test feasibility of our proposed methods. 18Affine transformation based formation maneuvering for discrete-time directed networked systems显示文摘For the tracking control problems of affine formation maneuvers with discrete leader-following multi-agent systems, various distributed control schemes based on the directed graphs are designed in this paper. Consider the single and double-integrator models, different types of formation maneuvers can be achieved subject to the states of leaders with the novel characteristic of affine localizability. Meanwhile, the properties of affine transformation and signed Laplacian are introduced, which simplify the structures of controllers with distinct constraints to a great extent. Moreover, the convergence analysis of proposed protocols is proven. Static, constant and time-varying target formations can be tracked successfully. 19Understanding enhancing mechanism of Pr_(6)O_(11) and Pr(OH)_(3) in methanol electrooxidation显示文摘The presence of oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups are both favorable for the methanol electrooxidation on Pt-based catalysts.Understanding and differentiating the enhancing mechanism between oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups for high activity of Pt catalysts in methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)is essential but still challenging.Herein,we developed two kinds of co-catalyst for Pt/CNTs,Pr_(6)O_(11)is rich in oxygen vacancies but contains substantially no hydroxyl groups,while Pr(OH)_(3) possesses abundant hydroxyl groups without oxygen vacancies.After a seque nce of designed experiments,it can be found that both oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups can improve the performance of Pt/CNTs electrocatalysts,but the enhancing mechanism and improving degree of oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups for the MOR are different.Since the oxygen vacancies are more conducive to increasing the intrinsic activity of the Pt catalyst,and the hydroxyl groups play a decisive role in dehydrogenation and deproto nation of methanol,the co-catalysts with both oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups mixed with Pt/CNTs have higher catalytic performance.Therefore,hydroxyl-rich Pr_(6)O_(11)·xH_(2)O was prepared and used as MOR electrocatalyst after mixed with Pt/CNTs.Benefiting from the synergistic effect of oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups,the Pr_(6)O_(11)·xH_(2)O/Pt/CNTs shows a high peak current density of 741 mA/mg,which is three times higher than that of Pt/CNTs.These new discoveries serve as a promising strategy for the rational design of MOR catalysts with low cost and high activity.Yang Yang Zhenyu Li Ying Yu Xueqiong Zhang Hang Wei Haibin Chu 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,1:3
20Water level variation characteristics under the impacts of extreme drought and the operation of the Three Gorges Dam显示文摘Under the influence of a climate of extreme drought and the Three Gorges Dam (TGD) operation, the water levels in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in 2006 and 2011 changed significantly compared with those in the extreme drought years of 1978 and 1986. To quantitatively analyze the characteristics of water level variations in 2006 and 2011, a new calculation method was proposed, and the daily water level and discharge from 1955-2016 were collected in this study. The findings are as follows: in 2006 and 2011, the water level in the dry season significantly increased, but that in the flood season obviously decreased compared with the levels in 1978 and 1986. Here, we described this phenomenon as “no low-water-level in dry season, no high-water-level in flood season”. Based on the calculation method, the contributions of climate variability and the Three Gorges Dam operation to water level variations in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River were calculated, and the contributions indicated that climate variability was the main reason for the phenomenon of “no low-water-level in diy season, no high-water-level in flood season” instead of flood peak reduction in the flood season and drought runoff implementation in the dry season, which are both induced by TGD.Yuanfang CHAI Yitian LI Yunping YANG Sixuan LI Wei ZHANG Jinqiu REN Haibin XIONG 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,3:3
