| 1 | Mesozoic tectono-magmatic activities in South China:Retrospect and prospect显示文摘The South China Block was formed through the collisional orogeny between the Cathaysia Block and the Yangtze Block in the Early Neoproterozoic.The northern,western and southern sides of the South China Block were affected by disappearance of the Paleo-Tethyan Ocean during the Paleozoic.The southern and northern sides of the South China Block were respectively collided with the Indo-China Block and North China Block in the latest Paleozoic to form the basic framework of the Eastern China.The Eastern China has been affected by the westward subduction of the Pacific Plate since the Mesozoic.Therefore,the South China Block was influenced by the three major tectonic systems,leading to a superposed compound tectonics.The comparative study of the Mesozoic geology between the South China Block and its surrounding areas suggests that although the Mesozoic South China Block was adjacent to the subduction zone of the western Pacific,no juvenile arc-type crust has been found in the eastern margin.The main Mesozoic geology in South China is characterized by reworking of ancient continental margins to intracontinental tectonics,lacking oceanic arc basalts and continental arc andesites.Therefore,a key to understanding of the Mesozoic geology in South China is to determine the temporal-spatial distribution and tectonic evolution of Mesozoic magmatic rocks in this region.This paper presents a review on the tectonic evolution of the South China Block through summarizing the magmatic rock records from the compressional to extensional tectonic process with the transition at the three juncture zones and using the deformation and geophysic data from the deep part of the South China continental lithosphere.Our attempt is to promote the study of South China’s geology and to make it as a typical target for development of plate tectonic theory. | MAO JianRen LI ZiLong YE HaiMin | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12: | 64 |
| 2 | Tectonic evolution of the Western Kunlun orogenic belt in northern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau:Evidence from zircon SHRIMP and LA-ICP-MS U-Pb geochronology显示文摘The Western Kunlun Range in northern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is composed of the North Kunlun Terrane,the South Kunlun Terrane and the Karakorum-Tianshuihai Terrane. Here we report zircon SHRIMP and LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages of some metamorphic and igneous rocks and field observations in order to pro-vide a better understanding of their Precambrian and Palaeozoic-early Mesozoic tectonic evolution. Based on these data we draw the following conclusions: (1) The paragneisses in the North Kunlun Terrane are likely of late Mesoproterozoic age rather than Palaeoproterozoic age as previously thought,representing tectonothermal episodes at 1.0―0.9 Ga and ~0.8 Ga. (2) The North Kunlun Terrane was an orogenic belt accreted to the southern margin of Tarim during late Mesoproterozoic to early Neopro-terozoic,the two episodes of metamorphisms correspond to the assemblage and breakup of Rodinia respectively. (3) The Bulunkuole Group in western South Kunlun Terrane,which was considered to be the Palaeoproterozoic basement of the South Kunlun Terrane by previous studies,is now subdivided into the late Neoproterzoic to early Palaeozoic paragneisses (khondalite) and the early Mesozoic metamorphic volcano-sedimentary series; the paragneisses were thrust onto the metamorphic vol-cano-sedimentary series from south to north,with two main teconothermal episodes (i.e.,Caledonian,460―400 Ma,and Hercynian-Indosinian,340―200 Ma),and have been documented by zircon U-Pb ages. (4) In the eastern part of the South Kunlun Terrane,a gneissic granodiorite pluton,which intruded the khondalite,was crystallized at ca. 505 Ma and metamorphosed at ca. 240 Ma. | 4 | The critical role of carbon in marrying silicon and graphite anodes for high-energy lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Increasing the energy density of conventional lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is important for satisfying the demands of electric vehicles and advanced electronics.Silicon is considered as one of the most-promising anodes to replace the traditional graphite anode for the realization of high-energy LIBs due to its extremely high theoretical capacity,although its severe volume changes during lithiation/delithiation have led to a big challenge for practical application.In contrast,the co-utilization of Si and graphite has been well recognized as one of the preferred strategies for commercialization in the near future.In this review,we focus on different carbonaceous additives,such as carbon nanotubes,reduced graphene oxide,and pyrolyzed carbon derived from precursors such as pitch,sugars,heteroatom polymers,and so forth,which play an important role in constructing micrometersized hierarchical structures of silicon/graphite/carbon(Si/G/C)composites and tailoring the morphology and surface with good structural stability,good adhesion,high electrical conductivity,high tap density,and good interface chemistry to achieve high capacity and long cycling stability simultaneously.We first discuss the importance and challenge of the co-utilization of Si and graphite.Then,we carefully review and compare the improved effects of various types of carbonaceous materials and their associated structures on the electrochemical performance of Si/G/C composites.We also review the diverse synthesis techniques and treatment methods,which are also significant factors for optimizing Si/G/C composites.Finally,we provide a pertinent evaluation of these forms of carbon according to their suitability for commercialization.We also make far-ranging suggestions with regard to the selection of proper carbonaceous materials and the design of Si/G/C composites for further development. | Jingxing Wu Yinliang Cao Haimin Zhao Jianfeng Mao Zaiping Guo | 2019 | Carbon Energy2019,1,1: | 18 |
| 5 | Wall Sticking of High Water-Cut, Highly Viscous and High Gel-Point Crude Oil Transported at Low Temperatures显示文摘Some crude oils with high water cut have the capability to flow below the oil gel point, while the oil particles adhere to the pipe wall in the form of paste, also called 'wall sticking'. Wall sticking is a serious problem during the pipeline transportation, leading to partial or total blockage of the pipeline and energy wastage. In this paper, a series of laboratory flow loop experiments were conducted to observe the wall sticking characteristics of crude oil with high water cut, high viscosity and high gel point at low transportation temperatures. The effects of shear stress and water cut on the wall sticking rate and occurrence temperature were investigated. Experimental results indicated that the wall sticking rate and occurrence temperature were lower under stronger shear stress and higher water cut conditions. A criterion of wall sticking occurrence temperature(WSOT) and a regression model of wall sticking rate were then established. Finally, the software was developed to calculate the pressure drop along the pipelines of crude oils with high water-cut. It was able to predict the wall sticking thickness of gelled oil and then calculate the pressure drop along the pipelines. | 6 | Geochemical Characteristics and Genesis of the Luxi-Xianrenzhang Diabase Dikes in Xiazhuang Uranium Orefield, Northern Guangdong Province显示文摘The Luxi-Xianrenzhang diabase dikes were emplaced into the eastern part of the Guidong composite granitoids in northern Guangdong Province at the end of the Early Cretaceous. They show tholeiitic features, enrichment in large ion lithophile elements, slight enrichment in light rare earth elements, depletion in Zr and Hf, and basically no depletion in Nb and Ta and no Eu anomaly. They are similar to intraplate basalt in terms of trace element characteristics. They have high εNd(t) values (3.6–4.9), initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70530–0.70641) and δ18O values and Dupal anomaly of Pb isotope compositions. Their Sr-Nd, Pb-Sr, Pb-Nd and Pb-Pb isotopes plot between DMM and EMII, with Pb similar to EMII, Nd relatively close to DMM and Sr in between. China显示文摘The zircon SHRIMP dating of the Zhangtiantang granite gave an age of 159±7 Ma.,which shows that the granite was produced at the early Late Jurassic.The Ar-Ar plateau ages of biotite and K-feldspar from the Zhangtiantang pluton are 153.2±1.1 Ma and 135.8±1.2 Ma,respectively.The Ar-Ar anti-isochrone ages of biotite and K-feldspar are 152.5±1.7Ma and 135.4±2.7Ma,respectively.The ages represent the isotopic closure ages of minerals in the pluton.The Zhangtiantang granites are regarded as peraluminous crust-derived type granites to possess the typical geochemical characteristics of calc-alkaline rocks on continental margin,with enriched Si,K,Al(average value of A/CNK as 1.18),HREE,Rb,U,and Th,heavily depleted V,Cr,Co,Ni,Ti,Nb-Ta,Zr,Sr,P,and Ba,strongly negative Eu and common corundum normative(average value of C as 1.84).The εNd(t) values of the Zhangtiantang granite are-5.84 to-7.79,and t2DM values are 1.69 to 1.83 Ga,which indicates partial melting of continental-crust metamorphic sedimentary rocks during the Middle Proterozoic.The cooling history of the Zhangtiantang granitic pluton indicates that the cooling velocity of pluton was faster(about 67℃ /Ma) from zircon(158 Ma) to biotite(152 Ma),and was slower(about12℃ /Ma) from biotite(152.5 Ma) to K-feldspar(135.8 Ma).It can be deduced that the temporal gap(about 10 Ma) between the granite formmation and W-Sn mineralization in South China may be related to ordinary magma-hydrothermal processes by the variational cooling curve of the pluton.The Zhangtiantang pluton was formed in a compressive setting,with differentiation evolution and mineralization occurring in a relative relaxation setting. | MAO Jianren LI Zilong ZHAO Xilin ZHOU Jie YE Haimin ZENG Qitao | 2010 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2010,29,1: | 11 |

| 9 | Meaningful comparison of photocatalytic properties of {001} and {101} faceted anatase TiO2 nanocrystals显示文摘The facet-dependent photocatalytic performance of TiO_2 nanocrystals has been extensively investigated due to their promising applications in renewable energy and environmental fields. However, the intrinsic distinction in the photocatalytic oxidation activities between the {001}and {101} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals is still unclear and under debate. In this work, a simple photoelectrochemical method was employed to meaningfully quantify the intrinsic photocatalytic activities of {001} and{101} faceted TiO_2 nanocrystal photoanodes. The effective surface areas of photoanodes with different facets were measured based on the monolayer adsorption of phthalic acid on TiO_2 photoanode surface by an ex situ photoelectrochemical method, which were used to normalize the photocurrents obtained from different faceted photoanodes for meaningful comparison of their photocatalytic activities. The results demonstrated that the {001} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals exhibited much better photocatalytic activity than that of {101} facets of anatase TiO_2 nanocrystals toward photocatalytic oxidation of water and organic compounds with different functional groups(e.g.,–OH, –CHO, –COOH). | 12 | Baicalin and rutin are major constituents in Shuanghuanglian injection involving anaphylactoid reaction显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To identify the constituents in Shuanghuanglian injection(SHLI) that correlate with anaphylactoid reaction.METHODS: Chemical fingerprints of 10 batches SHLI samples were determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC), and further investigated by similarity analysis. Combined with optical microscopy, both anaphylactoid experiments and confirmatory assay were displayed in Rat basophil leukemia cells(RBL-2H3) to obtain the histamine release inducing by SHLI. The content of histamine was tested by Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent As-say method. Partial least squares regression(PLSR)method and HPLC-DAD-ESI-MSntechnology were conducted to analyze constituents in SHLI involving anaphylactoid reaction.RESULTS: The results of spectrum and effect relationships showed that the eight constituents were positively correlated with anaphylactoid reaction.Among which, nearly 90% of them were identified as baicalin and rutin with PLSR and HPLC-DAD-ESI-MSn. | 15 | Sulfonate group modified Ni catalyst for highly efficient liquid-phase selective hydrogenation of bio-derived furfural显示文摘The liquid-phase furfural(FAL) hydrogenation to furfuryl alcohol(FOL) and tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol(THFOL) was investigated using sulfonate group(-SO3 H) grafted activated carbon(AC) supported Ni catalyst, which was prepared and activated simultaneously by liquid phase reduction method. This functionalized nickel catalyst demonstrated an enhanced catalytic performance for selective hydrogenation of FAL, in which almost 100% FOL(<80℃) and THFOL(>100℃) selectivity with complete conversion was obtained, respectively. More importantly, the conversion of transfer hydrogenation of FAL to FOL also can reach almost 100% under optimal conditions(140℃, 4.0 h). The effect of-SO3 H was evaluated and systematically analyzed by the combination of reaction performance and physico-chemical characterizations. | 17 | Photoelectrocatalytic activity of an ordered and vertically aligned TiO2 nanorod array/BDD heterojunction electrode显示文摘Rutile TiO_2 nanorod(TiNR) arrays were fabricated on a boron-doped diamond(BDD) substrate by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method. A fluorine-doped tin oxide(FTO) electrode grown with TiNR arrays was also prepared using the same technology for comparison. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy results show that oriented TiNR arrays can grow vertically on the surface of BDD and FTO electrodes. TiNR arrays grown on both electrodes had the same length(3 μm). In comparison with the TiNR/FTO electrode, the TiNR/BDD electrode demonstrated a higher photoelectrocatalytic activity for the degradation of water and organic compounds, which is mostly attributed to the formation of a p-n heterojunction between the TiNR arrays and BDD at high potential, apart from the density of TiNR. A linear relationship between the photoelectrocatalytic current and the organic concentration can be observed on both electrodes. | 18 | The correlation between expansion speed and magnetic field in solar flare ribbons显示文摘In this paper, we study the correlation between the expansion speed of two-ribbon flares and the magnetic field measured in the ribbon location, and compare such correlation for two events with different magnetic configurations. These two events are: an M1.0 flare in the quiet sun on September 12, 2000 and an X2.3 flare in Active Region NOAA 9415 on April 10, 2001. The magnetic configuration of the M1.0 flare is simple, while that of X2.3 event is complex. We have derived a power-law correlation between the ribbon expansion speed (V r) and the longitudinal magnetic field (Bz) with an empirical relationship V r = A×Bz-δ, where A is a constant and δ is the index of the power-law correlation. TLJN has been shown to protect primary cultured hippocampal neurons. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. In the present study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons treated with Aβ1–42(10 μmol/L) significantly increased the release of lactate dehydrogenase, which was markedly reduced by TLJN(2 μL/mL), specifically by the component geniposide(26 μmol/L), but not ginsenoside Rg1(2.5 μmol/L). The estrogen receptor inhibitor, ICI182780(1 μmol/L), did not block TLJN- or geniposide-mediated decrease of lactate dehydrogenase under Aβ1–42-exposed conditions. However, the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase or mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway inhibitor, LY294002(50 μmol/L) or U0126(10 μmol/L), respectively blo cked the decrease of lactate dehydrogenase mediated by TLJN or geniposide. | 20 | Effects of functionally graded materials on dynamics of molecular bond clusters显示文摘Unlike nonspecific adhesion of conventional hard materials in engineering commonly described by JKR and DMT type models,the molecular adhesion via specific receptor-ligand bonds is stochastic by nature and has the feature that its strength strongly depends on the medium stiffness surrounding the adhesion.In this paper,we demonstrate in a stochastic-elasticity framework that a type of materials with linearly graded elastic modulus can be designed to achieve 'equal load sharing' and enhanced cooperative rebinding among interfacial molecular bonds.Upon modulus gradation,multiple molecular bonds can be elastically decoupled but statistically cooperative.In general,uniform molecular adhesion can be accomplished by two strategies:homogeneous materials with sufficient stiffness higher than a threshold or heterogeneous materials satisfying the criterion on modulus gradation.These results not only provide a theoretical principle for possible applications of functionally graded materials in quantitatively controlling cell-matrix adhesion,but also have general implications on adhesion between soft materials mediated by specific molecular binding. | ZHANG WenLiang QIAN Jin YAO HaiMin CHEN WeiQiu GAO HuaJian | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,6: | 3 |
