| 1 | Role of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity in 2,2′,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether sorption onto biochars显示文摘The study provides insight into the combined effect of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity on2,2 ′,4,4 ′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47) sorption onto biochars. A series of biochars prepared underdifferent conditionswere used to test their sorption behaviorswith BDE-47. The extents of sorption behaviorswere parameterized in terms of the single-point adsorption equilibrium constant (Koc ) at three equilibrium concentration (C e ) levels (0.001Sw (solubility), 0.005Sw , and 0.05Sw )whichwasdetermined using the Freundlich model. To elucidate the concentration-dependentdominant mechanisms for BDE-47 sorption onto biochars, K ocwas correlatedwith four major parameters using multiple parameter linear analysis accompaniedwith significance testing. The results indicated that at low concentration (Ce = 0.001Sw ), the surface microporosity term,which represented a pore-filling mechanism, contributed significantly to this relationship,while as concentrationwas increased to higher levels, surface functionality related to surface adsorption began to take thedominant role,whichwas further confirmed by the results of Polanyi-based modeling. Given the above results, adual mode model based on Dubinin-Radushkevich andde Boer-Zwikker equationswas adopted to quantitatively assess the changes of significance of surface adsorption aswell as that of pore fillingwith sorption processdevelopment. | 2 | Roles of lncRNAs in Rice: Advances and Challenges显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) larger than 200 nucleotides in length are eukaryotic RNAs, and do not encode proteins. lncRNAs are considered to be important regulators in many biological processes in plants. In this review, the latest advances in the roles of lncRNAs in rice were reviewed, and functions of lncRNAs were further summarized and classified. lncRNAs play crucial roles in tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses such as disease, drought, heat, cold, heavy metal, and starvation of nitrogen and phosphorus in rice. In addition, lncRNAs also regulate various growth and development processes in rice. Finally, the prospect and challenges of rice lncRNA function research in future were proposed. | 5 | Discrimination of brownheart of Korla pear using vibration frequency spectrum technique显示文摘The purpose of this work was to use a nondestructive method for detecting the brownheart of Korla pear to reduce the chance of infection among pears without brownheart.A mechanical impulse method based on vibration testing system was used to excite the fruits.The consistent acquisition signal indicated that the test is repeatable at the same positions of fruit equator(cheek).A remarkable frequency signal was excited at 9-12 N force by a rubber tipped hammer.The dominant frequency was identified at the maximum response magnitude to assess the internal defect,and the result was not influenced by the distances between the defect borders and the excitation points.The sharp increase of defect mass could significantly affect the dominant frequency.Relationship between the dominant response frequency(fd)and the defect mass percentage(ω)was characterized by an equation fd=410.649e-0.0833ω+261.947 with a good correlation coefficient(R2=0.925).A defect mass of 2.281%was determined as a discrimination threshold.Once the threshold exceeded 2.281%,the defective pear could be classified with a high accuracy rate of 96.7%.This finding would provide guidance for determining the optimal detecting time to the brownheart of Korla pears,according to the specific storage conditions when the vibration frequency spectrum method is deployed. | Xu Hubo Wu Jie Wang Zhaopeng Gao Yongmao Wang Zhipeng Zhao Zhengqiang | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2: | 1 |
