1Inhibition and recovery of nitrification in treating real coal gasification wastewater with moving bed biofilm reactor显示文摘Moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) was used to treat real coal gasification wastewater. Nitrification of the MBBR was inhibited almost completely during start-up period. Sudden increase of influent total NH 3 concentration was the main factor inducing nitrification inhibition. Increasing DO concentration in the bulk liquid (from 2 to 3 mg/L) had little effect on nitrification recovery. Nitrification of the MBBR recovered partially by the addition of nitrifying sludge into the reactor and almost ceased within 5 days. Nitrification ratio of the MBBR achieved 65% within 12 days by increasing dilute ratio of the influent wastewater with tap water. 2Enhanced anaerobic biodegradability of real coal gasification wastewater with methanol addition显示文摘Coal gasification effluent is a typical refractory industrial wastewater with a very poor anaerobic biodegradability due to its toxicity.Methanol was introduced to improve anaerobic biodegradability of real coal gasification wastewater,and the effect of methanol addition on the performance was investigated in a mesophilic upflow anaerobic sludge bed reactor with a hydraulic retention time of 24 hr.Experimental results indicated that anaerobic treatment of coal gasification wastewater was feasible with the addition of methanol.The corresponding maximum COD and phenol removal rates were 71% and 75%,respectively,with methanol concentration of 500 mg COD/L for a total organic loading rate of 3.5 kg COD/(m3 ·day) and a phenol loading rate of 0.6 kg/(m3 ·day).The phenol removal rate was not improved with a higher methanol concentration of 1000 mg COD/L.Substrate utilization rate (SUR) tests indicated that the SURs of phenol were 106,132,and 83 mg phenol/(g VSS·day) at methanol concentrations of 250,500,and 1000 mg COD/L,respectively,and only 45 mg phenol/(g VSS·day) in the control reactor.The presence of methanol could reduce the toxicity of coal gasification wastewater and increase the biodegradation of phenolic compounds.Wei Wang,Hongjun Han,Min Yuan,Huiqiang Li State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150090,China 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:25
3Flow Dynamics of a Spiral-groove Dry-gas Seal显示文摘The dry-gas seal has been widely used in different industries.With increased spin speed of the rotator shaft,turbulence occurs in the gas film between the stator and rotor seal faces.For the micro-scale flow in the gas film and grooves,turbulence can change the pressure distribution of the gas film.Hence,the seal performance is influenced.However,turbulence effects and methods for their evaluation are not considered in the existing industrial designs of dry-gas seal.The present paper numerically obtains the turbulent flow fields of a spiral-groove dry-gas seal to analyze turbulence effects on seal performance.The direct numerical simulation(DNS) and Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) methods are utilized to predict the velocity field properties in the grooves and gas film.The key performance parameter,open force,is obtained by integrating the pressure distribution,and the obtained result is in good agreement with the experimental data of other researchers.Very large velocity gradients are found in the sealing gas film because of the geometrical effects of the grooves.Considering turbulence effects,the calculation results show that both the gas film pressure and open force decrease.The RANS method underestimates the performance,compared with the DNS.The solution of the conventional Reynolds lubrication equation without turbulence effects suffers from significant calculation errors and a small application scope.The present study helps elucidate the physical mechanism of the hydrodynamic effects of grooves for improving and optimizing the industrial design or seal face pattern of a dry-gas seal.WANG Bing ZHANG Huiqiang CAO Hongjun 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,1:18

6Recent Progress on Functional Genomics Research of Enterovirus 71显示文摘Enterovirus 71(EV71) is one of the main pathogens that causes hand-foot-and-mouth disease(HFMD). HFMD caused by EV71 infection is mostly self-limited; however, some infections can cause severe neurological diseases, such as aseptic meningitis, brain stem encephalitis, and even death. There are still no effective clinical drugs used for the prevention and treatment of HFMD. Studying EV71 protein function is essential for elucidating the EV71 replication process and developing anti-EV71 drugs and vaccines. In this review, we summarized the recent progress in the studies of EV71 noncoding regions(50 UTR and 30 UTR) and all structural and nonstructural proteins, especially the key motifs involving in viral infection, replication, and immune regulation. 7Numerical Analysis of a Spiral-groove Dry-gas Seal Considering Micro-scale Effects显示文摘A dry-gas seal system is a non-contact seal technology that is widely used in different industrial applications.Spiral-groove dry-gas seal utilizes fluid dynamic pressure effects to realize the seal and lubrication processes,while forming a high pressure gas film between two sealing faces due to the deceleration of the gas pumped in or out.There is little research into the effects and the influence on seal performance,if the grooves and the gas film are at the micro-scale.This paper investigates the micro-scale effects on spiral-groove dry-gas seal performance in a numerical solution of a corrected Reynolds equation.The Reynolds equation is discretized by means of the finite difference method with the second order scheme and solved by the successive-over-relaxation(SOR) iterative method.The Knudsen number of the flow in the sealing gas film is changed from 0.005 to 0.120 with a variation of film depth and sealing pressure.The numerical results show that the average pressure in the gas film and the sealed gas leakage increase due to micro-scale effects.The open force is enlarged,while the gas film stiffness is significantly decreased due to micro-scale effects.The friction torque and power consumption remain constant,even in low sealing pressure and spin speed conditions.In this paper,the seal performance at different rotor face spin speeds is also described.The proposed research clarifies the micro-scale effects in a spiral-groove dry-gas seal and their influence on seal performance,which is expected to be useful for the improvement of the design of dry-gas seal systems operating in the slip flow regime.WANG Bing ZHANG Huiqiang 2011Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,1:12

10Liraglutide alleviates cardiac fibrosis through inhibiting P4hα-1 expression in STZ-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy is an important contributor to morbidity and mortality of diabetic patients by causing heart failure.Interstitial and perivascular fibrosis plays a crucial role in diabetic cardiomyopathy.However,there is a lack of effective specific treatments available for diabetic cardiomyopathy.In the present study,we aim to explore the effects of Liraglutide,a GLP-1 analogue,on diabetic cardiomyopathy in STZ-induced diabetic rats fed with high-fat diet.A total of 60 male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups,i.e.normal group,model group,and Liraglutide group,with 20 rats in each group.Serum levels of TC,TG,LDL-C,NEFA,and hydroxyproline were measured using commercial kits.Cardiac function was evaluated by QRS waves,LVEDd,LVESd,and LVEF.Myocardial fibrosis was measured by immunohistochemistry.Our results demonstrated that chronic administration of Liraglutide decreased the level of blood glucose and significantly alleviated lipid metabolic disturbance compared with the model group.Furthermore,Liraglutide was found to improve the damaged cardiac function.In line with this,we also found that the alleviation of cardiac dysfunction was associated with the decreased fibrosis in diabetic myocardial tissues,which was reflected by the decreased expressions of P4hα-1,COL-1,COL-3,MMP-1,and MMP-9.Our results thus suggest that Liraglutide might have a myocardial protective effect by inhibiting P4hα-1-mediated myocardial fibrosis.Tong Zhao Huiqiang Chen Fei Xu Juan Wang Yusheng Liu Xiaowei Xing Linlin Guo Mingxiang Zhang Qinghua Lu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3:9
11Analysis of combustion instability via constant volume combustion in a LOX/RP-1 bipropellant liquid rocket engine显示文摘Turbulent two-phase reacting flow in the chamber of LOX/RP-1 bipropellant liquid rocket engine is numerically investigated in this paper. The predicted pressure and mean axial velocity are qualitatively consistent with the experimental measurements. The self-excited pressure oscillations are obtained without any disturbance introduced through the initial and boundary conditions. It is found that amount of abrupt pressure peaks appear frequently and stochastically in the head regions of the chamber, which are the important sources to drive and strengthen combustion instability. Such abrupt pressures are induced by local constant volume combustion, because local combustible gas mixtures with high temperature are formed and burnt out suddenly due to some fuel droplets reaching their critical state in a rich oxygen surrounding. A third Damkhler number is defined as the ratio of the characteristic time of a chemical reaction to the characteristic time of a pressure wave expansion to measure the relative intensity of acoustic propagation and combustion process in thrusters. The analysis of the third Damkhler number distributions in the whole thrust chamber shows that local constant volume combustion happens in the head regions, while constant pressure combustion presents in the downstream regions. 12Numerical evaluation of acoustic characteristics and their damping of a thrust chamber using a constant-volume bomb model显示文摘In order to numerically evaluate the acoustic characteristics of liquid rocket engine thrust chambers by means of a computational fluid dynamics method, a mathematical model of an artificial constant-volume bomb is proposed in this paper. A localized pressure pulse with a very high amplitude can be imposed on specified regions in a combustion chamber, the numerical procedure of which is described. Pressure oscillations actuated by the released constant-volume bomb can then be analyzed via Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT), and their modes can be identified according to the theoretical acoustic eigenfrequencies of the thrust chamber. The damping performances of the corresponding acoustic modes are evaluated by the half-power bandwidth method. The predicted acoustic characteristics and their damping for a special engine combustor agree well with the experimental data, validating the mathematical model and its numerical procedures. A small-thrust liquid rocket engine chamber is then analyzed by the present model. The First Longitudinal(1L) acoustic mode can be excited easily and is hard to be damped. The axial position of the central constantvolume bomb has little influence on the amplitude and damping capacity of the First Radial(1R) and 1L acoustic modes. Tangential acoustic modes can only be triggered by an off-centered constant-volume bomb, among which the First Tangential(1T) mode is the strongest and regarded as the most harmful one. The amplitude of the 1L acoustic mode is smaller, but its damping factor is larger, as a constant-volume bomb is imposed approaching the injector face. 13Ignition, flame propagation and extinction in the supersonic mixing layer flow显示文摘The supersonic mixing layer flow,consisting of a relatively cold,slow diluted hydrogen stream and a hot,faster air stream,is numerically simulated with detailed transport properties and chemical reaction mechanisms.The evolution of the combustion process in the supersonic reacting mixing layer is observed and unsteady phenomena of ignition,flame propagation and extinction are successfully captured.The ignition usually takes place at the air stream side of braid regions between two vortexes due to much higher temperature of premixed gases.After ignition,the flame propagates towards two vortexes respectively located on the upstream and downstream of the ignition position.The apparent flame speed is 1569.97 m/s,which is much higher than the laminar flame speed,resulting from the effects of expansion,turbulence,vortex stretching and consecutive ignition.After the flame arrives at the former vortex,the flame propagates along the outer region of the vortex in two branches.Then the upper flame branch close to fuel streamside distinguishes gradually due to too fuel-riched premixed mixtures in the front of the flame and the strong cooling effect of the adjacent cool fuel flow,while the lower flame branch continues to propagate in the vortex.ZHANG YunLong WANG Bing ZHANG HuiQiang 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11:7
14SERK Receptor-like Kinases Control Division Patterns of Vascular Precursors and Ground Tissue Stem Cells during Embryo Development in Arabidopsis显示文摘During embryo development, the vascular precursors and ground tissue stem cells divide to renew them-selves and produce the vascular tissue, endodermal cells, and cortical cells. However, the molecular mech-anisms regulating division of these stem cells have remained largely elusive. In this study, we show that loss of function of SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS RECEPTOR-UKE KINASE (SERK) genes results in aberrant em-bryo development. Fewer cortical, endodermal, and vascular cells are generated in the embryos of serk1 serk2bak1 triple mutants. WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMBOBOX5 (WOXS) is ectopically expressed in vascular cells of serkl serk2 bak1 embryos. The first transverse division of vascular precursors in mid-globular em-bryos and second asymmetric division of ground tissue stem cells in early-heart embryos are abnormally altered to a longitudinal division. The embryo defects can be partially rescued by constitutively activated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase kinase YODA (YDA) and MAPK kinase MKK5. 17Combination of anti-PD-1 antibody with P-GEMOX as a potentially effective immunochemotherapy for advanced natural killer/T cell lymphoma显示文摘Advanced natural killer/T cell lymphoma(NKTL)has demonstrated poor prognosis with currently available therapies.Here,we report the efficacy of anti-programmed death 1(PD-1)antibody with the P-GEMOX(pegaspargase,gemcitabine,and oxaliplatin)regimen in advanced NKTL.Nine patients underwent six 21-day cycles of anti-PD-1 antibody(day 1),pegaspargase 2000 U/m^(2)(day 1),gemcitabine 1 g/m^(2)(days 1 and 8)and oxaliplatin 130 mg/m^(2)(day 1),followed by anti-PD-1 antibody maintenance every 3 weeks.Programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)expression and genetic alterations were determined in paraffin-embedded pretreatment tissue samples using immunohistochemistry and next-generation sequencing(NGS)analysis.Responses were assessed using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography(18FDG-PET)and computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.Eight patients exhibited significant responses,comprising of seven complete remissions and one partial remission(overall response rate:88.9%).After a median follow-up of 10.6 months,6/9 patients(66.7%)remained in complete remission.The most common grade 3/4 adverse events were anemia(33.3%),neutropenia(33.3%),and thrombocytopenia(33.3%);all of which were manageable and resolved.Immunochemotherapy produced a high response rate in patients with positive PD-L1 expression(5/6,83.3%).NGS analysis suggested that STAT3/JAK3/PD-L1 alterations and ARID1A mutation were associated with immunochemotherapy efficacy.Mutation in DDX3X and alteration in epigenetic modifiers of KMT2D,TET2,and BCORL1 might indicate a poor response to immunochemotherapy.In conclusion,the anti-PD-1 antibody plus P-GEMOX regimen demonstrated promising efficacy in advanced NKTL.PD-L1 expression combined with specific genetic alterations could be used as potential biomarkers to predict therapeutic responses to immunochemotherapy.Jun Cai Panpan Liu Huiqiang Huang Yajun Li Shuyun Ma Hui Zhou Xiaopeng Tian Yuchen Zhang Yan Gao Yi Xia Xuanye Zhang Hang Yang Lirong Li Qingqing Cai 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:6

19Stability analysis of backflling in subsiding area and optimization of the stoping sequence显示文摘In underground mining by sublevel caving method, the deformation and damage of the surface induced by subsidence are the major challenging issues. The dynamic and soft backflling body increases the safety risks in the subsiding area. In this paper, taking Zhangfushan iron mine as an example, the ore body and the general layout are focused on the safety of backflling of mined-out area. Then, we use the ANSYS software to construct a three-dimensional(3D) model for the mining area in the Zhangfushan iron mine. According to the simulation results of the initial mining stages, the ore body is stoped step by step as suggested in the design. The stability of the backflling is back analyzed based on the monitored displacements, considering the stress distribution to optimize the stoping sequence. 20Biomineralization of phototrophic microbes in silica-enriched hot springs in South China显示文摘Microbial mats in two hot springs in South China were sampled for the research of mineralization of microbes and its mechanism by the methods of geology and modern biology. The results show that hot spring microbes have the key capability for enrichment of Si, Al, Fe, Ca and other elements, and the microbes are also crucial for the formation of SiO2, CaCO3, clay and so on. The extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) play important roles in the process of mineralization of hot spring microbes, which mainly takes place in the layer of EPS outside cell wall or sheath of cyanobacteria. The sheath outside cell wall, which keeps the normal metabolism of cyanobacteria during the process of mineralization on its surface, is also considerable for the biomineralization of cyanobacteria. According to structure and mineralization characteristics of two microbial mats, the process of mineralization can be divided into three stages, namely, early surface mineralization, middle degradation mineralization, and late des- quamation of mineral.
