| 1 | GEOEssential–mainstreaming workflows from data sources to environment policy indicators with essential variables显示文摘When defining indicators on the environment,the use of existing initiatives should be a priority rather than redefining indicators each time.From an Information,Communication and Technology perspective,data interoperability and standardization are critical to improve data access and exchange as promoted by the Group on Earth Observations.GEOEssential is following an end-user driven approach by defining Essential Variables(EVs),as an intermediate value between environmental policy indicators and their appropriate data sources.From international to local scales,environmental policies and indicators are increasingly percolating down from the global to the local agendas.The scientific business processes for the generation of EVs and related indicators can be formalized in workflows specifying the necessary logical steps.To this aim,GEOEssential is developing a Virtual Laboratory the main objective of which is to instantiate conceptual workflows,which are stored in a dedicated knowledge base,generating executable workflows.To interpret and present the relevant outputs/results carried out by the different thematic workflows considered in GEOEssential(i.e.biodiversity,ecosystems,extractives,night light,and food-water-energy nexus),a Dashboard is built as a visual front-end.This is a valuable instrument to track progresses towards environmental policies. | Anthony Lehmann Stefano Nativi Paolo Mazzetti Joan Maso Ivette Serral Daniel Spengler Aidin Niamir Ian McCallum Pierre Lacroix Petros Patias Denisa Rodila Nicolas Ray Grégory Giuliani | 2020 | International Journal of Digital Earth2020，13，2： | 1 |

| 11 | HCV-specific immune responses induced by CIGB-230 in combination with IFN-α plus ribavirin显示文摘AIM:To analyze hepatitis C virus(HCV)-specific immune responses in chronically infected patients under triple therapy with interferon-α(IFN-α)plus ribavirin and CIGB-230.METHODS:CIGB-230 was administered in different schedules with respect to IFN-αplus ribavirin therapy.Paired serum and peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC)samples from baseline and end of treatment were analyzed.The HCV-specific humoral response was tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,neutralizing antibodies were evaluated by cell culture HCV neutralization assays,PBMC proliferation was assayed by carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester staining and IFN-γsecretion was assessed by enzyme-linked immunospot.Data on virological and histological response and their association with immune variables are also provided.RESULTS:From week 12 to week 48,all groups of patients showed a significant reduction in mean leukocyte counts.Statistically significant reductions in antibody titers were frequent,but only individuals immunized with CIGB-230 as early add-on treatment sustained the core-IgG response,and the neutralizing antibody response was enhanced only in patients receiving CIGB-230.Cell-mediated immune responses also tended to decline,but significant reductions in IFN-γsecretion and total absence of core-specific lymphoproliferation were exclusive of the control group.Only CIGB-230-immunized individuals showed de novo induced lymphoproliferative responses against the structural antigens.Importantly,it was demonstrated that thequality of the CIGB-230-induced immune response depended on the number of doses and timing of administration in relation to the antiviral therapy.Specifically,the administration of 6 doses of CIGB-230 as late addon to therapy increased the neutralizing antibody activity and the de novo core-specific IFN-γsecretion,both of which were associated with the sustained virological response.CONCLUSION:CIGB-230,combined with IFN-α-based therapy,modifies the immune response in chronic patients.The study provides evidence for the design of more effective therapeutic vaccine interventions against HCV. | Yalena Amador-Caizares Gillian Martínez-Donato Liz lvarez-Lajonchere Claudia Vasallo Mariacarla Dausá Daylen Aguilar-Noriega Carmen Valenzuela Ivette Raíces Jean Dubuisson Czeslaw Wychowski Zurina Cinza-Estévez Marlén Castellanos Magdalys Núez Anny Armas Yaimé González Ismariley Revé Ivis Guerra ngel Pérez Aguiar Santiago Dueas-Carrera | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，1： | 1 |
