1Effect of Base Material on Microstructure and Texture Evolution of a Ti–6Al–4V Electron-Beam Welded Joint显示文摘The effect of base material(BM) on microstructure and crystallographic orientation evolution of a Ti–6Al–4V electron-beam welded joint was investigated. Meanwhile, the crystallographic orientation of prior b grains was studied by advanced electron backscattered diffraction data processing. The inhomogeneity of microstructure within welded joint was formed due to the different microstructures of BM. 4Nonlinear Transient Response of Functionally Graded Material Sandwich Doubly Curved Shallow Shell Using New Displacement Field显示文摘In this paper, the nonlinear transient dynamic response of functionally graded material(FGM) sandwich doubly curved shell with homogenous isotropic material core and functionally graded face sheet is analyzed using a new displacement field on the basis of Reddy's third-order shear theory for the first time. The equivalent material properties for the FGM face sheet are assumed to obey the rule of simple power law function in the thickness direction.Based on Reddy'stheory of higher shear deformation, a new displacement field is developed by introducing the secant function into transverse displacement. Four coupled nonlinear differential equations are obtained by applying Hamilton's principle and Galerkin method. It is assumed that the FGM sandwich doubly curved shell is subjected to step loading, air-blast loading,triangular loading, and sinusoidal loading, respectively. On the basis of double-precision variablecoefficient ordinary differential equation solver, a new program code in FORTRAN software is developed to solve the nonlinear transient dynamics of the system. 5Microstructural Characterization of the Shear Bands in Fe-Cr-Ni Single Crystal by EBSD显示文摘An investigation has been made into the microstructural characterization of the shear bands generated under high-strain rate (≈10~4 s^(-1)) deformation in Fe-15%Cr-15%Ni single crystal by EBSD-SEM (electron backscat- ter diffraction-scanning electron microscopy),TEM (transmission electron in microscopy) and HREM (high- resolution electron microscopy).The results reveal that the propagation of the shear band exhibits an asymmet- rical behavior arising from inhomogenous distribution in plasticity in the bands because of different resistance to the collapse in different crystallographic directions;Theγ-ω-α′phase transformations may take place inside and outside the bands,and these martensitic phases currently nucleate at intersections either between the twins and deformation bands or between the twins andε-sheet.Investigation by EBSD shows that recrystallization can occur in the bands with a grain size of an average of 0.2μm in diameter.These nano-grains are proposed to attribute to the results of either dynamic or static recrystallization,which can be described by the rotational recrystallization mechanism.Calculation and analysis indicate that the strain rate inside the shear band can reach 2.50×10~6 s^(-1),which is higher,by two or three orders of magnitude,than that exerted dynamically on the specimen tested.Huajie YANG J.H.Zhang Yongbo XU Marc Andre' Meyers 2008Journal of Materials Science & Technology2008,24,6:0
