| 1 | STUDY OF THE X70 PIPELINE STEEL CORRODING IN 3.0wt% NaCl SOLUTION USING ELECTROCHEMICAL IMPEDANCE SPECTROSCOPY TECHNIQUE显示文摘The corrosion process of the X70 pipeline steel in 3.0wt% NaCl solution were studied using polarization method, and the chronological characteristics during the entire polarization plot were investigated in detail using EIS technique. In the active region of X70 steel, such as 20mV potential bias applied on open circuit potential (OCP), the impedance spectra was comprised of three parts: a high-frequency capacitive loop, a middle-frequency capacitive loop and a low-frequency inductive component. When positive polarization potential increased, the capacitive loops at high and middle frequency range merged, and the inductive component at low frequency shrunk. At high positive polarization potential bias (500-800mV vs. OCP), the high-frequency capacitive loop and the low-frequency inductive loop exhibited as disheveled points due to the synergism of the inhomogeneity of the corroding material and the localized corrosion. | 2 | ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE FEATURES OF PURE ALUMINUM DURING PITTING CORROSION IN NEUTRAL NaCl SOLUTION显示文摘Spontaneous electrochemical noise (EN) can be a rich source of information concern-ing the processes simultaneously occurring at a corroding interface. Potential noisefluctuations during the free corrosion of pure aluminum in different concentration ofneutral sodium chloride solution are investigated, and the breakdown and restorationof passive metal's film are studied using potentiodynamic scanning (PDS) measure-ments and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique. Two capacitanceloops are observed in the Nyquist plots in two kinds of concentration, and the corro-sion process is under activation control at first, then become diffusion control withinthe oxide film and corrosion products of (Al(OH)p-m Cl-m) accumulated on the surfaceof the corroding electrode. | 3 | First-principles Study of Point Defects in Stoichiometric and Non-stoichiometric Y_4Al_2O_9显示文摘By using the first-principles calculation,we studied the mechanisms of point defects in Y4Al2O9(YAM),a promising ternary oxide with excellent optical and thermal properties.It is found that the predominant native defect species is closely dependent on the chemical potentials of each constituent.In the case of O-rich condition,the oxygen interstitial has the very low defect formation energy,followed by the anti-site defects and Al vacancy;in the case of Al-rich condition,the oxygen vacancy yields the lowest defect formation energy,followed by the anti-site defects and Al interstitial.The present result shows that in all the possible chemical potential ranges,anti-site defects have relatively low defect formation energy and might exist in high concentration in YAM.Furthermore,AlY anti-site has relatively lower defect formation energy than the YAl antisite throughout.The behaviors of defect complexes under non-stoichiometric condition,such as the Al2O3or Y2O3excess,are also investigated.The results provide helpful guide to optimize the experimental synthesizing of YAM. | Z.Li B.Liu J.M.Wang L.C.Sun J.Y.Wang Y.C.Zhou Z.J.Hu | 2013 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,12: | 2 |

| 9 | INFLUENCE OF SO_4^(2-) AND Cl-ON THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF COPPER TUBE IN AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM显示文摘The influence of chloride or sulphur dioxide on the corrosion behavior of copper tube in the air-conditioning system was studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM),energy dispersion spectrometer (EDS) and cyclic polarization techniques.The results showed that the corrosion of copper tube are mainly caused by the SO4^2- and Cl^- ions in the circulating water,and the former is mainly responsible for the general corrosion of the copper tube whilst the latter for the pitting corrosion.The different influences of SO4^2- and Cl^- ions on the corrosion type of copper tube may be attributed to that the radius of SO4^2- ion is much larger than that of Cl^- ion.
