1MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SiC_W/BAS (BaAl_2Si _2O_8) GLASS-CERAMIC COMPOSITE显示文摘BAS (BaAl 2Si 2O 8) glass ceramic was prepared by a sol gel process and the SiC W/BAS composites were fabricated by hot pressing. The transformation from hexacelsian to celsian, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites was investigated. The results show that the transformation promoted by adding celsian seeds is retarded in the composite by the presence of SiC whisker. SiC whisker has a good effect of improving the mechanical properties of BAS glass ceramic matrix. The toughening mechanisms are crack deflection and whisker fracture. The strengthening mechanism is loading transition. 2Hot Deformation Behavior and Processing Maps of a High Al-low Si Transformation-Induced Plasticity Steel: Microstructural Evolution and Flow Stress Behavior显示文摘Hot deformation behavior of a high Al-low Si transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP) steel was studied by an MMS-300 thermo-simulation machine at the temperature range of 1050–1200℃ and strain rate range of 0.01–10s^(-1). The constitutive equations of the TRIP steel were established at high temperature by fitting the strain factor with a sixth-order polynomial. The instability during hot rolling was discussed using processing maps. The results reveal that two types of flow stress curves(dynamic recrystallization and dynamic recovery) were observed during the hot compression of the high Al-low Si TRIP steel. Flow stress decreased with increasing deformation temperature and decreasing strain rate. The predicted flow stress of experimental TRIP steel is in agreement with the experimental values with an average absolute relative error of 4.49% and a coefficient of determination of 0.9952. 5On the mechanism of Si-promoted destabilization of TiC_(x)particles in Al alloys显示文摘TiC_(x)is an excellent composite strengthening particle and grain refiner for Al alloys.However,the stability of TiC_(x)is poor when solute Si exists in Al alloy melts,which significantly depresses its strengthening and grain refining effects.In this work,the destabilization mechanisms of the TiC_(x)particles in Al-Si alloy melt with a composition of Al-7Si-7.5TiC were explored via experiments,first-principles calculations and thermodynamic calculations.The experimental results show that Si atoms diffuse into TiC_(x)and Ti atoms are released into the Al melt to form a Ti-rich transition zone during the insulation of TiC_(x)in Al-Si melt,and the TiAlySiz and Al_(4)C_(3)phases are solidified in the Ti-rich zone and at Ti-rich zone/TiC_(x)interface,respectively.The first principles calculations show that the low formation energy of C vacancies facilitates the rapid diffusion of Si atoms in TiC_(x),while the doping of Si atoms reduces the energy barrier of diffusion of Ti atoms in TiC_(x)and promotes the formation of Ti-rich zones.The thermodynamic calculations show that the wide crystallization temperature range of the destabilized product TiAlySiz phase is the key to continuous decomposition of TiC_(x)particles.In addition,the driving force of the main destabilization reaction of TiC_(x)in the Al-Si alloys is about 44 times higher than that in the Al alloys without Si addition.This indicates that the presence of solute Si remarkably promotes the subsequent decomposition process of TiC_(x)in the Al-Si alloy melts.H.Dong Y.C.Guo Y.Z.Chen F.Xia Q.Q.Guo Q.Chen G.L.Li J.Y.Zhao Y.Zhong J.P.Li 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,34:0
