1Cromakalin pretreatment affects mitochondrial structure and function in a rat model of ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Mitochondrial structural changes and energy dysmetabolism frequently occur subsequent to cerebral ischemia.Adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-sensitive potassium channel openers exhibit protective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.OBJECTIVE:To validate the effects of cromakalin on mitochondrial structure and function in ischemic penumbra brain tissue in a rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The present single-factor analysis of variance,randomized,controlled,animal experiment was performed at the Institute of Brain Science,Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University Medical College between October 2007 and March 2008.MATERIALS:Forty male,Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups,with 10 rats per group:sham-operated,MCAO,MCAO+ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener(cromakalin),and MCAO+cromakalin+ATP-sensitive potassium channel blocking agent(glibenclamide).METHODS:Focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury was induced by MCAO in all groups except the sham-operated group.The MCAO cromakalin group was administered 10 mg/kg cromakalin(i.p.) prior to MCAO induction.The MCAO+cromakalin+glibenclamide group received an injection of 10 mg/kg cromakalin(i.v.),and subsequently an injection of 10 mg/kg cromakalin(i.p.) prior to MCAO induction.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:At 24 hours after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,cellular apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate(dUTP) nick-end labeling technique.Cytochrome C expression was measured by immunohistochemistry.In addition,mitochondrial swelling,membrane fluidity,membrane phospholipid and malonaldehyde(MDA) contents,as well as Na+-K+-ATPase,Ca2 +-ATPase,and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activities were determined.RESULTS:Compared with the sham-operated group,the three ischemia groups exhibited significantly elevated mitochondrial MDA content,reduced membrane phospholipid and ATP contents,down-regulated membrane fluidity,and reduced Na+-K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase,and SOD activities(P < 0.05-0.01).In the MCAO+cromakalin group,the number of apoptotic cells decreased,and cytochrome C expression,as well as MDA content,were reduced.However,ATP content and Na+-K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase,and SOD activities significantly increased compared with the MCAO group(P < 0.05-0.01).Glibenclamide noticeably antagonized cromakalin protection of mitochondria.CONCLUSION:Pretreatment with the ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener cromakalin increased mitochondrial Na+-K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase,and SOD activities,decreased neuronal apoptosis,and inhibited cytochrome C expression following MCAO.Shilei Wang Peng Wang Qingxian Chang Yu Li Yan Jiang Shiduan Wang 2008Neural Regeneration Research2008,3,9:6
2A Modular DC/DC Photovoltic Generation System for HVDC Grid Connection显示文摘A modular DC/DC conversion system with distributed MPPT and centralized step-up converter for photovoltaic energy integrated into HVDC grids is proposed in this paper.The conversion system consists of two power stages,with MPPT converter as the first stage and a step-up converter as the second stage.Both stages are modular structures.For the distributed MPPT stage,interleaved boost topology is utilized to effectively reduce the input and output ripples without adding extra components.For the centralized step-up stage,narrow-switching-frequency-variation LLC topology is employed,with the modules being configured as input-parallel-output-series structure.Full-range soft-switching property is achieved in the LLC stage to minimize switching losses.Theoretical analysis is carried out for the system voltage gain and design principles.Simulation and experimental results of a 3kW prototype system are presented to verify the theoretical analysis of the proposed system.Guoen Cao Kai Sun Siyue Jiang Shilei Lu Yibo Wang 2018Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2018,4,2:5
3Neuroprotective effects of cromakalim on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats Correlation with hippocampal metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 alpha and glutamate transporter 1显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have reported that potassium channel openers exhibit a protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and inhibit glutamate excitotoxicity in rats.However,the effects of the glutamate receptor 1α and glutamate transporter 1 remain poorly understood.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the prophylactic use of the adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium channel opener cromakalim on neurological function and cerebral infarct size,as well as glutamate receptor 1α and glutamate transporter 1 expression,in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury,and to explore action mechanisms underlying reduced glutamate excitotoxicity and neuroprotection in rats.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Randomized,controlled,animal experiment was performed at the Brain Institute,Qingdao University Medical College,Between July 2008 and April 2009.MATERIALS:Cromakalim was purchased from Sigma,USA;rabbit anti-glutamate receptor 1α polyclonal antibody was offered by Wuhan Boster,China;rabbit anti-glutamate transporter 1 polyclonal antibody was offered by Santa Cruz Biotechnology,USA.METHODS:Sixty male,Wistar rats,aged 6 months,were randomly assigned to three groups (n= 20):sham-surgery,model,and cromakalim.Intraluminal thread methods were used to establish middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats from the model and cromakalim groups.Rats from the sham-surgery group were subjected to exposed common carotid artery,external carotid artery,and internal carotid artery,without occlusion.Cromakalim (10 mg/kg) was administered 30 minutes prior to middle cerebral artery occlusion,but there was no intervention in the model and sham-surgery groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:At 24 hours post-surgery,neurological behavioral functions were evaluated using Bederson's test,cerebral infarction volume was determined following tetrazolium chloride staining,and glutamate receptor 1α and glutamate transporter 1 expressions were detected using immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:Following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury,neurological behavioral malfunctions were obvious in all mice.Focal cerebral infarction was detected in ischemic hemispheres,glutamate receptor 1α expression increased,and glutamate transporter 1 expression decreased in the ischemic hemisphere (P < 0.05).Compared with the model group,neurological behavioral functions significantly improved,cerebral infarction volume was significantly reduced (P < 0.05),glutamate receptor 1α expression was significantly decreased,and glutamate transporter 1 expression was increased in the cromakalim group (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Improved neurological function and reduced cerebral infarction volume in rats through the preventive use of cromakalim could be related to decreased glutamate receptor 1α expression and enhanced glutamate transporter 1 expression.Shilei Wang Junchao Liu Qingxian Chang Yu Li, Yan Jiang Shiduan Wang 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,9:2

7The fate of carbon resulting from pore water exchange in a mangrove and Spartina alterniflora ecozone显示文摘Mangrove and salt-marsh wetlands are important coastal carbon sinks.In order to quantify carbon export via pore water exchange and to evaluate subsequent fate of the exported carbon,we carried out continuous observations in a mangrove-Spartina alterniflora ecozone in the Zhangjiang River Estuary,China.The carbon fluxes via pore water exchange were estimated using^(222)Rn and^(228)Ra as tracers to be(2.15±0.63)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)and(-0.008±0.07)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for dissolved organic carbon(DOC)in the wet season and(3.02±0.65)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for DIC and(-0.15±0.007)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for DOC in the dry season in the mangrove-dominated creek(M-creek),while(2.52±0.82)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for DIC and(0.02±0.09)mol/(m^(2)∙d)for DOC in the dry season in the S.alterniflora-dominated creek(SA-creek).The negative value means that pore water was a sink of DOC in the creek.The total carbon via pore water exchange in the tidal creeks in the mangroves accounted for 41%-55%of the net carbon fixed by mangrove vegetation and was 3-4 times as much as the soil carbon accretion in the mangroves.The exported carbon in the form of DIC contributed all of the carbon outwelling from the M-creek and 79%of the carbon outwelling from the SA-creek,implying effective fixation of carbon by the wetland ecosystem.Moreover,it resulted in 54%in the dry season,75%in the wet season of the carbon dioxide released from the M-creek to the atmosphere,and 84%of the release from the SA-creek.Therefore,quantification of pore water exchange and related soil carbon loss is essential to trace the fate of carbon fixed in intertidal wetlands.Weizhen Jiang Guizhi Wang Qing Li Manab Kumar Dutta Shilei Jin Guiyuan Dai Yi Xu 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,8:0
8Genomic Epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan显示文摘COVID-19 has swept globally and Pakistan is no exception.To investigate the initial introductions and transmissions of the SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan,we performed the largest genomic epidemiology study of COVID-19 in Pakistan and generated 150 complete SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences from samples collected from March 16 to June 1,2020.We identified a total of 347 mutated positions,31 of which were over-represented in Pakistan.Meanwhile,we found over 1000 intra-host single-nucleotide variants(iSNVs).Several of them occurred concurrently,indicating possible interactions among them or coevolution.Some of the high-frequency iSNVs in Pakistan were not observed in the global population,suggesting strong purifying selections.The genomic epidemiology revealed five distinctive spreading clusters.The largest cluster consisted of 74 viruses which were derived from different geographic locations of Pakistan and formed a deep hierarchical structure,indicating an extensive and persistent nation-wide transmission of the virus that was probably attributed to a signature mutation(G8371T in ORF1ab)of this cluster.Furthermore,28 putative international introductions were identified,several of which are consistent with the epidemiological investigations.In all,this study has inferred the possible pathways of introductions and transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan,which could aid ongoing and future viral surveillance and COVID-19 control.Shuhui Song Cuiping Li Lu Kang Dongmei Tian Nazish Badar Wentai Ma Shilei Zhao Xuan Jiang Chun Wang Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Shuangli Li Qiuhui Qi Aamer Ikram Muhammad Salman Massab Umair Huma Shireen Fatima Batool Bing Zhang Hua Chen Yun-Gui Yang Amir Ali Abbasi Mingkun Li Yongbiao Xue Yiming Bao 2021Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,5:0
9Carbon-coated lithium titanate: effect of carbon precursor addition processes on the electrochemical performance显示文摘In this paper,two carbon-coated lithium titanate(LTO-C1 and LTO-C2)composites were synthesized using the ball-milling-assisted calcination method with different carbon precursor addition processes.The physical and electrochemical properties of the as-synthesized negative electrode materials were characterized to investigate the effects of two carbon-coated LTO synthesis processes on the electrochemical performance of LTO.The results show that the LTO-C2 synthesized by using Li2CO3 and TiO2 as the raw materials and sucrose as the carbon source in a one-pot method has less polarization during lithium insertion and extraction,minimal charge transfer impedance value and the best electrochemical performance among all samples.At the current density of 300 mA·h·g^(-1),the LTO-C2 composite delivers a charge capacity of 126.9 mA·h·g^(-1),and the reversible capacity after 300 cycles exceeds 121.3 mA·h·g^(-1) in the voltage range of 1.0–3.0 V.Furthermore,the electrochemical impedance spectra show that LTO-C2 has higher electronic conductivity and lithium diffusion coefficient,which indicates the advantages in electrode kinetics over LTO and LTO-C1.The results clarify the best electrochemical properties of the carbon-coated LTO-C2 composite prepared by the one-pot method.Shilei Ding Zelong Jiang Jing Gu Hongliang Zhang Jiajia Cai Dongdong Wang 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,1:0
10Strategies toward Highly Efficient Monolithic Perovskite/Organic Tandem Solar Cells显示文摘Constructing monolithic tandem solar cells (TSCs) is an effective method to break the Shockley–Queisser (S–Q) radiative efficiency limit for single-junction solar cells. Employing the wide bandgap perovskite materials and low bandgap organic materials as absorber layers for front and rear subcells, respectively, to construct perovskite/organic TSCs can complementarily absorb sunlight in ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) range by front perovskite and near-infrared (NIR) range by rear organic molecules, thus reducing the thermalization energy losses. Besides the subcells, the interconnection layer (ICL), which physically and electrically connects the front and rear subcells, is also an important tunnel junction to recombine charges. 11The bipolar kicker power supply principle prototype for the booster ring of HIAF显示文摘Background The kicker power supply is one of the key devices to achieve fast extraction for the booster ring(BRing)of high intensity heavy ion accelerator facility.For the expected high beam intensity in the BRing,a beam dump is requested for an emergency case.Therefore,a bipolar kicker power supply is required to extract bunched beams to the regular beamline and the beam dump.Purpose The purpose of this paper is to design and test a bipolar kicker power supply principle prototype.Methods For this purpose,a solid-state Marx generator circuit based on pulse forming network with insulated gate bipolar transistors is applied to the bipolar kicker power supply principle prototype.Results The experimental results show that the principle prototype has the ability to produce a bipolar extraction current,and the polarity can be arbitrarily selected.Besides,a flat-top duration of the extraction current adjusting from 0 to 1.23μs has been accomplished.Conclusions The output performance of the principle prototype satisfies the design requirements and verifies the feasibility of the design.Jie Gao Mingrui Li Anhui Feng Daqing Gao Jingbin Shangguan Xuejian Jin Jiang Zhao Shilei Zhang Yan Liu 2019Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2019,3,3:0
