| 1 | An overview of transmission theory and techniques of large-scale antenna systems for 5G wireless communications显示文摘To meet the future demand for huge traffic volume of wireless data service, the research on the fifth generation(5G) mobile communication systems has been undertaken in recent years. It is expected that the spectral and energy efficiencies in 5G mobile communication systems should be ten-fold higher than the ones in the fourth generation(4G) mobile communication systems. Therefore, it is important to further exploit the potential of spatial multiplexing of multiple antennas. In the last twenty years, multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) antenna techniques have been considered as the key techniques to increase the capacity of wireless communication systems. When a large-scale antenna array(which is also called massive MIMO) is equipped in a base-station, or a large number of distributed antennas(which is also called large-scale distributed MIMO)are deployed, the spectral and energy efficiencies can be further improved by using spatial domain multiple access. | 2 | Cross-layer packet scheduling for downlink multiuser OFDM systems显示文摘This paper proposes a channel and queue aware fair (CQAF) packet scheduling scheme for the downlink packet transmission in multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. By making use of the information on the channel conditions and the queue lengths, the proposed CQAF packet scheduling scheme efficiently allocates the subcarriers, transmission power and modulation level to users under the constraints of total transmission power, the number of subcarriers, bit-error-rate (BER) requirement and generalized processor sharing (GPS)-based fairness requirement. | 3 | Impact of RF mismatches on the performance of massive MIMO systems with ZF precoding显示文摘Thanks to the channel reciprocity, the time division duplex(TDD) operation is more preferred in massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems. Avoiding the heavy feedback of downlink channel state information(CSI) from the user equipment(UE) to the base station(BS), the uplink CSI can be exploited for the downlink precoding. However, due to the mismatches of the radio frequency(RF) circuits at both sides of the link, the whole communication channels are usually not symmetric in practical systems. This paper is focused on the RF mismatches at the UEs and the BS for the multi-user massive MIMO systems with zero forcing(ZF) precoding. The closed-form expressions of the ergodic sum-rates are derived for evaluating the impact of RF mismatches on the system performance. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the RF mismatches at the UEs only lead to a negligible performance loss. | 4 | Machine-learning-based high-resolution DOA measurement and robust directional modulation for hybrid analog-digital massive MIMO transceiver显示文摘At hybrid analog-digital(HAD)transceiver,an improved HAD estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques(ESPRIT),called I-HAD-ESPRIT,is proposed to measure the direction of arrival(DOA)of a desired user,where the phase ambiguity due to HAD structure is dealt with successfully.Subsequently,a machine-learning(ML)framework is proposed to improve the precision of measuring DOA.Meanwhile,we find that the probability density function(PDF)of DOA measurement error(DOAME)can be approximated as a Gaussian distribution by the histogram method in ML.Then,a slightly large training data set(TDS)and a relatively small real-time set(RTS)of DOA are formed to predict the mean and variance of DOA/DOAME in the training stage and real-time stage,respectively.To improve the precisions of DOA/DOAME,three weight combiners are proposed to combine the-maximum-likelihood-learning outputs of TDS and RTS.Using the mean and variance of DOA/DOAME,their PDFs can be given directly,and we propose a robust beamformer for directional modulation(DM)transmitter with HAD by fully exploiting the PDF of DOA/DOAME,especially a robust analog beamformer on RF chain.Simulation results show that:(1)the proposed I-HAD-ESPRIT can achieve the HAD Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB);(2)the proposed ML framework performs much better than the corresponding real-time one without training stage;(3)the proposed robust DM transmitter can perform better than the corresponding non-robust ones in terms of secrecy rate. | Zhihong ZHUANG Ling XU Jiayu LI Jinsong HU Linlin SUN Feng SHU Jiangzhou WANG | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,8: | 5 |

| 8 | TDD reciprocity calibration for multi-user massive MIMO systems with iterative coordinate descent显示文摘For massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) antenna systems, time division duplexing(TDD) is preferred since the downlink precoding matrix can be obtained through the uplink channel estimation,thanks to the channel reciprocity. However, the mismatches of the transceiver radio frequency(RF) circuits at both sides of the link make the whole communication channel non-symmetric. This paper extends the total least square(TLS) method to the case of self-calibration, where only the antennas of the access points(APs) are involved to exchange the calibration signals with each other and the feedback from the user equipments(UEs)is not required. Then, the proof of the equivalence between the TLS method and the least square(LS) method is presented.
