| 1 | New index of ferromanganese crusts reflecting oceanic environmental oxidation显示文摘Ferromanganese crusts (hereinafter crusts) form in aerobic environment and the environmental oxida-tion degree is recorded by the redox sensitive element Co in the crusts. The ages of the layers from the surface to bottom of the crusts are determined, and main element contents at high resolution along the depth sections of three crusts from the Pacific Ocean are analyzed by an electron microprobe. Thus the variations of Co/(Fe+Mn) and Co/(Ni+Cu) with age/depth of the crust layers are obtained. By comparing the ratios of Co/(Fe+Mn) and Co/(Ni+Cu) with the δ 18O curves of the Pacific benthic foraminifera, we find that these two ratios can reflect the variation of the environmental oxidation state under which the crust layers deposit. The evolution of the oxidation degree reflected by the two indexes resembles the evo-lution of temperature since the Oligocene reflected by the δ 18O curves of the Pacific benthic foraminif-era. This suggests that the crust-forming environment after the Oligocene is controlled mainly by the oxygen-rich bottom water originated from the Antarctic bottom water (AABW). However it is not the case prior to the Oligocene. Furthermore it suggests that the environmental oxidation degree controls the formation of the crusts and the Co contents in the crusts. This explains why the Co contents in the crusts increase with time up to now. | WU GuangHai ZHOU HuaiYang ZHANG HaiSheng LING HongFei MA WeiLin ZHAO HongQiao CHEN JianLin LIU JieHong | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,3: | 7 |
| 2 | Efficacy and safety of high-dose esomeprazole–amoxicillin dual therapy for Helicobacter pylori rescue treatment:a multicenter, prospective, randomized, controlled trial显示文摘Background:High-dose dual therapy(HDDT)with proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)and amoxicillin has attracted widespread attention due to its favorable efficacy in eradicating Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori).This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of high-dose PPI-amoxicillin dual therapy and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy for H.pylori rescue treatment. Methods:This was a prospective,randomized,multicenter,non-inferiority trial.Patients recruited from eight centers who had failed previous treatment were randomly(1:1)allocated to two eradication groups:HDDT(esomeprazole 40 mg and amoxicillin 1000 mg three times daily;theHDDTgroup)and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy(esomeprazole 40 mg,bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg,and furazolidone 100 mg twice daily, combined with tetracycline 500 mg three times daily;the tetracycline, furazolidone, esomeprazole, and bismuth[TFEB]group)for 14 days. The primary endpoint was the H.pylori eradication rate. The secondary endpoints were adverse effects, symptom improvement rates, and patient compliance. Results:A total of 658 patients who met the criteria were enrolled in this study. The HDDT group achieved eradication rates of 75.4%(248/329),81.0%(248/306),and 81.3%(248/305)asdetermined by the intention-to-treat(ITT),modified intention-totreat(MITT),and per-protocol(PP)analyses,respectively.The eradication rates were similar to those in the TFEB group:78.1%(257/329),84.2%(257/305),and 85.1%(257/302).The lower 95%confidence interval boundary(9.19%in the ITT analysis,9.21%in the MITT analysis,and9.73%in the PP analysis)was greater than the predefined non-inferiority margin of10%,establishing a non-inferiority of the HDDT group vs.the TFEB group. The incidence of adverse events in the HDDT group was significantly lower than that in the TFEB group(11.1%vs.26.8%,P<0.001).Symptom improvement rates and patients’compliance were similar between the two groups.Conclusions:Fourteen-day HDDT is non-inferior to bismuth-containing quadruple therapy, with fewer adverse effects and good treatment compliance, suggesting HDDT as an alternative for H.pylori rescue treatment in the local region.Trial registration:Clinicaltrials.gov,NCT04678492. | Hanxin Bi Xingxing Chen Yuxin Chen Xin Zhao Shasha Wang Jiehong Wang Ting Lyu Shuang Han Tao Lin Mingquan Li Donghong Yuan Junye Liu Yongquan Shi | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14: | 3 |

| 4 | Transportation of citrinin is regulated by the CtnC gene in the medicinal fungus Monascus purpureus显示文摘Monascus is one of the most essential microbial resources in China, with thousands of years of history.Modern science has proved that Monascus can produce pigment, ergosterol, monacolin K,-aminobutyric acid, and other functionally active substances.Currently,Monascus is used to produce a variety of foods, health products, and pharmaceuticals, and its pigments are widely used as food additives. However,Monascus also makes a harmful polyketide component called citrinin in the fermentation process;citrinin has toxic effects on the kidneys such as teratogenicity, carcinogenicity, and mutagenicity(Gong et al.,2019).The presence of citrinin renders Monascus and its products potentially hazardous, which has led many countries to set limits and standards on citrinin content. | Yanling GUI Guangfu TANG Haiqiao MAN Jiao WANG Jie HAN Jiehong ZHAO | 2023 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,6: | 0 |
| 5 | Predictor Selection for CNN-based Statistical Downscaling of Monthly Precipitation显示文摘Convolutional neural networks(CNNs) have been widely studied and found to obtain favorable results in statistical downscaling to derive high-resolution climate variables from large-scale coarse general circulation models(GCMs).However, there is a lack of research exploring the predictor selection for CNN modeling. This paper presents an effective and efficient greedy elimination algorithm to address this problem. The algorithm has three main steps: predictor importance attribution, predictor removal, and CNN retraining, which are performed sequentially and iteratively. The importance of individual predictors is measured by a gradient-based importance metric computed by a CNN backpropagation technique, which was initially proposed for CNN interpretation. The algorithm is tested on the CNN-based statistical downscaling of monthly precipitation with 20 candidate predictors and compared with a correlation analysisbased approach. Linear models are implemented as benchmarks. The experiments illustrate that the predictor selection solution can reduce the number of input predictors by more than half, improve the accuracy of both linear and CNN models, and outperform the correlation analysis method. Although the RMSE(root-mean-square error) is reduced by only 0.8%,only 9 out of 20 predictors are used to build the CNN, and the FLOPs(Floating Point Operations) decrease by 20.4%. The results imply that the algorithm can find subset predictors that correlate more to the monthly precipitation of the target area and seasons in a nonlinear way. It is worth mentioning that the algorithm is compatible with other CNN models with stacked variables as input and has the potential for nonlinear correlation predictor selection. | Dangfu YANG Shengjun LIU Yamin HU Xinru LIU Jiehong XIE Liang ZHAO | 2023 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,6: | 0 |
