1The compositions,sources,and size distribution of the dust storm from China in spring of 2000 and its impact on the global environment显示文摘The average mass concentration of the aerosols in Beijing during the dust storm in the spring of 2000 was -6000 μg · m-3, -30 times as high as that in the non-dust storm days. The enrichment factors of the pollution elements As, Sb and Se were higher than those in the non-dust storm days. This indicated that As, Sb and Se resulted from the pollution sources of those areas, through which the dust storm passed during their long-range transport, in addition to the local pollution sources in Beijing. The enrichment factors of the Pb, Zn, Cd and Cu were much less than those in the non-dust storm days, suggesting that the local pollution sources in Beijing area contributed to them mostly. The enrichment factors of elements Al, Fe, Sc, Mn, Na, Ni, Cr, V and Co were close to 1, showing that these elements originated from crust. The concentration of S in the dust storm was -10 μg · m-3,4 times as high as that in non-dust storm. 4Source apportionment for urban PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) in the Beijing area显示文摘Airborne particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) samples were collected at the Beijing Normal University sampling site in the urban area of Beijing, China in dry and wet seasons during 2001―2004. Concen-trations of 23 elements and 14 ions in particulate samples were determined by ICP-AES and IC, re-spectively. Source apportionment results derived from both Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) and Chemical Mass Balance (CMB) models indicate that the major contributors of PM2.5 and PM10 in Beijing are: soil dust, fossil fuel combustion, vehicle exhausts, secondary particulate, biomass burning and some industrial sources. 5Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor Kinases Control Root Development Mainly via Brassinosteroid-Independent Actions in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Brassinosteroids(BRs),a group of plant steroidal hormones,play critical roles in many aspects of plant growth and development.Previous studies showed that BRI1-mediated BR signaling regulates cell division and differentiation during Arabidopsis root development via interplaying with auxin and other phytohormones.Arabidopsis somatic embryogenesis receptor-like kinases(SERKs),as co-receptors of BRI1,were found to play a fundamental role in an early activation step of BR signaling pathway.Here we report a novel function of SERKs in regulating Arabidopsis root development.Genetic analyses indicated that SERKs control root growth mainly via a BR-independent pathway.Although BR signaling pathway is completely disrupted in the serk1 bak1 bkk1 triple mutant,the root growth of the triple mutant is much severely damaged than the BR deficiency or signaling null mutants.More detailed analyses indicated that the triple mutant exhibited drastically reduced expression of a number of genes critical to polar auxin transport,cell cycle,endodermis development and root meristem differentiation,which were not observed in null BR biosynthesis mutant cpd and null BR signaling mutant bri1-701.Junbo Du Hongju Yin Shasha Zhang Zhuoyun Wei Baolin Zhao Jinghua Zhang Xiaoping Gou Honghui Lin Jia Li 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,6:22
6Modern stalagmite oxygen isotopic composition and its implications of climatic change from a high-elevation cave in the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau over the past 50 years显示文摘An oxygen isotope record of a stalagmite from Huanglong Cave in the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau dated with 230Th and 210Pb methods provides variations of the Asian monsoon with an average resolu-tion of 1 year over the past 50 years. This study shows that the δ18O of dripwater in the cave represents the annual mean δ18O of local meteoric precipitation and the stalagmites were deposited in isotopic equilibrium. A comparison of the stalagmite δ18O record with instrumentally meteorological data indi-cates that shifts of the δ18O are largely controlled by the amount effect of meteoric precipitation con-veyed through the southwest monsoon(the Indian monsoon) and less affected by temperature. Therefore,the variations of δ18O record reflect the changes in monsoon precipitation on inter-annual time scales under the influence of the southwest monsoon. Like many other stalagmite δ18O records in the Asian monsoon regions,the δ18O record of the stalagmite from Huanglong Cave also reveals a gradually enriched trend during the past 50 years,i.e. relatively enriched in 18O. This trend may indicate the decline of the Asian monsoon intensity which is consistent with the decrease of monsoon indices. 7Design and fabrication of broadband ultralow reflectivity black Si surfaces by laser micro/nanoprocessing显示文摘Light collection efficiency is an important factor that affects the performance of many optical and optoelectronic devices.In these devices,the high reflectivity of interfaces can hinder efficient light collection.To minimize unwanted reflection,anti-reflection surfaces can be fabricated by micro/nanopatterning.In this paper,we investigate the fabrication of broadband anti-reflection Si surfaces by laser micro/nanoprocessing.Laser direct writing is applied to create microstructures on Si surfaces that reduce light reflection by light trapping.In addition,laser interference lithography and metal assisted chemical etching are adopted to fabricate the Si nanowire arrays.The anti-reflection performance is greatly improved by the high aspect ratio subwavelength structures,which create gradients of refractive index from the ambient air to the substrate.Furthermore,by decoration of the Si nanowires with metallic nanoparticles,surface plasmon resonance can be used to further control the broadband reflections,reducing the reflection to below 1.0%across from 300 to 1200 nm.An average reflection of 0.8%is achieved.Jing Yang Fangfang Luo Tsung Sheng Kao Xiong Li Ghim Wei Ho Jinghua Teng Xiangang Luo Minghui Hong 2014Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1:17
8Application of near infrared spectroscopy to the analysis and fast quality assessment of traditional Chinese medicinal products显示文摘Near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)has been widely applied in both qualitative and quantitative analysis.There is growing interest in its application to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and a review of recent developments in the field is timely.To present an overview of recent applications of NIRS to the identification,classification and analysis of TCM products,studies describing the application of NIRS to TCM products are classified into those involving qualitative and quantitative analysis.In addition,the application of NIRS to the detection of illegal additives and the rapid assessment of quality of TCMs by fast inspection are also described.This review covers over 100 studies emphasizing the application of NIRS in different fields.Furthermore,basic analytical principles and specific examples are used to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of NIRS in pattern identification.NIRS provides an effective and powerful tool for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of TCM products.Chao Zhang Jinghua Su 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,3:16

11A Scenario-Based Robust Transmission Network Expansion Planning Method for Consideration of Wind Power Uncertainties显示文摘This paper uses a novel scenario generation method for tackling the uncertainties of wind power in the transmission network expansion planning(TNEP)problem.A heuristic moment matching(HMM)method is first applied to generate the typical scenarios for capturing the stochastic features of wind power,including expectation,standard deviation,skewness,kurtosis,and correlation of multiple wind farms.Then,based on the typical scenarios,a robust TNEP problem is presented and formulated.The solution of the problem is robust against all the scenarios that represent the stochastic features of wind power.Three test systems are used to verify the HMM method and is compared against Taguchi’s Orthogonal Array(OA)method.The simulation results show that the HMM method has better performance than the OA method in terms of the trade-off between robustness and economy.Additionally,the main factors influencing the planning scheme are studied,including the number of scenarios,wind farm capacity,and penalty factors,which provide a reference for system operators choosing parameters.Jinghua Li Liu Ye Yan Zeng Hua Wei 2016CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,1:15

14Rice MtN3/saliva/SWEET gene family: Evolution,expression profiling, and sugar transport显示文摘The rice MtN3/saliva/SWEET gene family consists of21 paralogs. However, their functions in physiological processes are largely unknown, although at least three of the 21 paralogs are used by pathogenic bacteria to infect rice.Here, we report the evolutionary features, transcriptional characteristics, and putative functions in sugar transport of this gene family. The wild rice accessions in this study included those with AA, BB, CC, BBCC, CCDD, EE, and GG genomes,which appeared approximately 0.58–14.6 million years ago.The structures, chromosomal locations, phylogenetic relationships, and homologous distribution among the accessions suggest that the number of rice MtN3/saliva/SWEET paralogs gradually increased as the Oryza genus evolved, and one third of the paralogs may have originated recently. These paralogs are differentially expressed in vegetative and reproductive tissues, in the leaf senescence process, and in signaling dependent on gibberellic acid, cytokinin, or 1-naphthalene acetic acid(an analog of auxin), suggesting that they may be associated with multiple physiological processes. Four paral ogs could transport galactose in yeast, which suggests tha they may have a similar function in rice. 17Distribution of Aluminum and Fluoride in Tea Plant and Soil of Tea Garden in Central and Southwest China显示文摘The distribution of Al and F contents and the relationship between Al and F in tea plants and soils of 12 tea gardens in Central and Southwest China were investigated from October 31 to November 14, 2006. The results show that there were differences in pH, CEC, the contents of organic matter (OM), Al and F in the different soils of the tea gardens. The Al content ranged from 1196 to 7976mg/kg for old leaf, 370 to 2681mg/kg for young leaf and 285 to 525mg/kg for stem, whereas the content of F ranged from 221 to 1504mg/kg for old leaf, 49 to 602mg/kg for young leaf and 13.5 to 77.5mg/kg for stem. The concentrations of labile Al varied obviously in the different soils, but the distribution law of labile Al content for the same garden was Alexchangeable≈AlFe-Mn oxide>Alorganic>Alwater-soluble. The contents of different labile F fractions varied slightly in the different soils and the different soil layers, though the exchangeable F content was lowest among the labile F in the soils. The concentrations of Al and F in tea plants increased with increasing amount of water-soluble Al or F, especially the amount of water-soluble fractions in the soil layer of 0-20cm.The correlation between Al content and F content in the tea leaf was more significant than that in the tea stem. Furthermore, the correlation between Al content and F content in whole tea plant was strongly significant (r=0.8763, p<0.01, n=36). There were evident tendency that Al concentration increased with the increase of F concentration in different soil layers. The correlation of water-soluble Al with water-soluble F in all soils was also strongly significant (r=0.7029, p<0.01, n=34). 18Separation and analysis of lignite bioconversion products显示文摘The bioconversion of coal at ambient conditions is a promising technology for coal processing,although the mechanisms of coal degradation are still not understood fully.In this work,the bioconversion of lignite was studied using a fungus isolated from decaying wood.The lignite samples were oxidized with nitric acid under moderate conditions and then the oxidized samples were placed on a potato medium with isolated fungus for lignite bioconversion.Lignite,oxidized lignite and residual products after bioconversion of lignite were sequentially extracted with petroleum ether,CS 2,methanol,acetone and tetrahydrofuran(THF),and then each extract was characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC/MS).The differences in composition and structure among the samples were inferred by comparing the differences between the extracts.The results show that aromatics with one or several benzene rings and their derivatives;and some long-chain alkanes containing oxygen decreased in the methanol-,acetone-,and THF-soluble fraction from residual lignite,whereas long chain or a few branched alkanes and small quantities of aromatic compounds increased in petroleum ether and CS 2 soluble fractions.Yao Jinghua Xiao Lei Wang Liqiang 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4:13
19Asian summer monsoon precipitation recorded by stalagmite oxygen isotopic composition in the western Loess Plateau during AD1875―2003 and its linkage with ocean-atmosphere system显示文摘Based on 5 high-precision 230Th dates and 103 stable oxygen isotope ratios (δ18O) obtained from the top 16 mm of a stalagmite collected from Wanxiang Cave,Wudu,Gansu,variation of monsoonal precipita-tion in the modern Asian Monsoon (AM) marginal zone over the past 100 years was reconstructed. Comparison of the speleothem δ18O record with instrumental precipitation data at Wudu in the past 50 years indicates a high parallelism between the two curves,suggesting that the speleothem δ18O is a good proxy for the AM strength and associated precipitation,controlled by 'amount effect' of the pre-cipitation. Variation of the monsoonal precipitation during the past 100 years can be divided into three stages,increasing from AD 1875 to 1900,then decreasing from AD 1901 to 1946,and increasing again thereafter. This variation is quite similar to that of the Drought/Flooding index archived from Chinese historical documents. This speleothem-derived AM record shows a close association with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) between AD 1875 and 1977,with higher monsoonal precipitation corre-sponding to cold PDO phase and vice versa at decadal timescale. The monsoonal precipitation varia-tion is out of phase with the PDO after AD 1977,probably resulting from the decadal climate jump in the north Pacific occurring at around AD 1976/77. These results demonstrate a strong linkage between the AM and associated precipitation and the Pacific Ocean via ocean/atmosphere interaction.
