| 2 | Indirect mineral carbonation of titanium-bearing blast furnace slag coupled with recovery of TiO_2 and Al_2O_3显示文摘Large quantities of CO_2 and blast furnace slag are discharged in the iron and steel industry. Mineral carbonation of blast furnace slag can offer substantial CO_2 emission reduction and comprehensive utilization of the solid waste.This paper describes a novel route for indirect mineral carbonation of titanium-bearing blast furnace(TBBF) slag,in which the TBBF slag is roasted with recyclable(NH_4)_2SO_4(AS) at low temperatures and converted into the sulphates of various valuable metals, including calcium, magnesium, aluminium and titanium. High value added Ti-and Al-rich products can be obtained through stepwise precipitation of the leaching solution from the roasted slag. The NH_3 produced during the roasting is used to capture CO_2 from flue gases. The NH_4HCO_3 and(NH_4)_2CO_3 thus obtained are used to carbonate the CaSO_4-containing leaching residue and MgSO_4-rich leaching solution, respectively. In this study, the process parameters and efficiency for the roasting, carbonation and Ti and Al recovery were investigated in detail. The results showed that the sulfation ratios of calcium,magnesium, titanium and aluminium reached 92.6%, 87% and 84.4%, respectively, after roasting at an AS-to-TBBF slag mass ratio of 2:1 and 350 °C for 2 h. The leaching solution was subjected to hydrolysis at 102 °C for 4 h with a Ti hydrolysis ratio of 95.7% and the purity of TiO_2 in the calcined hydrolysate reached 98 wt%.99.7% of aluminium in the Ti-depleted leaching solution was precipitated by using NH_3. The carbonation products of Ca and Mg were CaCO_3 and(NH_4)_2 Mg(CO_3)_2·4H_2O, respectively. The latter can be decomposed into MgCO_3 at 100–200 °C with simultaneous recovery of the NH_3 for reuse. In this process, approximately 82.1% of Ca and 84.2%of Mg in the TBBF slag were transformed into stable carbonates and the total CO_2 sequestration capacity per ton of TBBF slag reached up to 239.7 kg. | 3 | Associations between individual and environmental factors and habitual physical activity among older Chinese adults:A social–ecological perspective显示文摘Purpose: To examine, within a social–ecological framework, associations between multifaceted individual and environmental factors and habitual physical activity(HPA) among older Chinese adults.Methods: Through a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, a survey instrument assessing various factors underlying 3 social–ecological dimensions of intrapersonal, interpersonal, and community and environmental resources was developed. Using a cross-sectional design, older adults(n = 1580, aged 67 ± 7 years) recruited from 10 communities in Shandong province completed the social–ecological survey of HPA. | 4 | Preparation of poly(glutamic acid) shielding micelles self-assembled from polylysine-b-polyphenylalanine for gene and drug codelivery显示文摘A novel amphiphilic cationic block copolymer polylysine-b-polyphenylalanine(PLL-b-PPhe)was synthesized and self-assembled into micelles in aqueous solution,then shielded with poly(glutamic acid)(marked as PG/PLL-b-PPhe)to codeliver gene and drug for combination cancer therapy.Here,doxorubicin(DOX)was selected to be loaded into PLL-b-PPhe micelles and the drug loading efficiency was 8.0%.The drug release studies revealed that the PLL-b-PPhe micelles were pH sensitive and the released DOX could reach to 53.0%,65.0%,72.0%at pH 7.4,6.8 and 5.0,respectively.In order to reduce positive charge and cytotoxicity of PLL-b-PPhe micelles,PG was used as shelding,simultaneously condensed with Bcl2 siRNA to form gene carrier system.Compared with PEI,PG/PLL-b-PPhe had excellent gene transfection efficiency,especially when the molar ratio of PLL to PPhe was 30:60 and the mixed mass ratio of PLL-b-PPhe to gene was 5:1.More importantly,DOX and Bcl2 siRNA gene codelivery system displayed remarkable cytotoxicity against B16 F10 cells.Confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM)and flow cytometry were used to characterize endocytosis of the codelivery system,and confirmed that both DOX and Bcl2 siRNA had been endocytosed into B16 F10 cells.The above results indicated that gene and drug codelivery was a promising strategy in future cancer therapy. | Jing Ma Jingpeng Zhang Lin Chi Chong Liu Yanhui Li Huayu Tian | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6: | 4 |

| 7 | Spatiotemporal distribution and decadal change of the monthly temperature predictability limit in China显示文摘Based on the nonlinear Lyapunov exponent and nonlinear error growth dynamics, the spatiotemporal distribution and decadal change of the monthly temperature predictability limit(MTPL) in China is quantitatively analyzed. Data used are daily temperature of 518 stations from 1960 to 2011 in China. The results are summarized as follows:(1) The spatial distribution of MTPL varies regionally. MTPL is higher in most areas of Northeast China, southwest Yunnan Province, and the eastern part of Northwest China. MTPL is lower in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Huang-huai Basin.(2)The spatial distribution of MTPL varies distinctly with seasons. MTPL is higher in boreal summer than in boreal winter.(3) MTPL has had distinct decadal changes in China, with increase since the 1970 s and decrease since2000. Especially in the northeast part of the country, MTPL has significantly increased since 1986. Decadal change of MTPL in Northwest China, Northeast China and the Huang-huai Basin may have a close relationship with the persistence of temperature anomaly. Since the beginning of the 21 st century, MTPL has decreased slowly in most of the country, except for the south. | 10 | Effects of arginine replacement with L-citrulline on the arginine/nitric oxide metabolism in chickens:An animal model without urea cycle显示文摘Background This study examined the efficacy of L-citrulline supplementation on the arginine/nitric oxide metabolism,and intestinal functions of broilers during arginine deficiency.A total of 288 day-old Arbor Acre broilers were randomly assigned to either an arginine deficient basal diet(NC diet),NC diet+0.50%L-arginine(PC diet),or NC diet+0.50%L-citrulline(NCL diet).Production performance was recorded,and at 21 days old,chickens were euthanized for tissue collection.Results The dietary treatments did not affect the growth performance of broilers(P>0.05),although NC diet increased the plasma alanine aminotransferase,urate,and several amino acids,except arginine(P<0.05).In contrast,NCL diet elevated the arginine and ornithine concentration higher than NC diet,and it increased the plasma citrulline greater than the PC diet(P<0.05).The nitric oxide concentration in the kidney and liver tissues,along with the plasma and liver e NOS activities were promoted by NCL diet higher than PC diet(P<0.05).In the liver,the activities of arginase 1,ASS,and ASL,as well as,the gene expression of i NOS and OTC were induced by PC diet greater than NC diet(P<0.05).In the kidney,the arginase 1,ASS and ASL enzymes were also increased by PC diet significantly higher than the NC and NCL diets.Comparatively,the kidney had higher abundance of n NOS,ASS,ARG2,and OTC genes than the liver tissue(P<0.05).In addition,NCL diet upregulated(P<0.05)the m RNA expression of intestinal nutrient transporters(EAAT3 and PEPT1),tight junction proteins(Claudin 1 and Occludin),and intestinal mucosal defense(MUC2 and p Ig R).The intestinal morphology revealed that both PC and NCL diets improved(P<0.05)the ileal VH/CD ratio and the jejunal VH and VH/CD ratio compared to the NC fed broilers.Conclusion This study revealed that NCL diet supported arginine metabolism,nitric oxide synthesis,and promoted the intestinal function of broilers.Thus,L-citrulline may serve as a partial arginine replacement in broiler’s diet without detrimental impacts on the performance,arginine metabolism and gut health of chickens. | Victoria Anthony Uyanga Lijing Sun Yu Liu Meiming Zhang Jingpeng Zhao Xiaojuan Wang Hongchao Jiao Okanlawon M.Onagbesan Hai Lin | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,3: | 1 |
| 11 | Design of core-shell nickel oxide/silicon carbide whiskers towards excellent microwave absorption property显示文摘Toward the increasingly serious problem of electromagnetic wave pollution,the development of absorbing material with the properties of the light,thin,wide,strong,and multiple applications scenarios is still a huge challenge.Herein,the core-shell nickel oxide/silicon carbide whiskers(NiO/SiCw)with variational NiO morphologies(tulle-,flower,and rod-like)were designed and fabricated via a facile prehydrothermal method and post-annealing process.For the NiO shell morphology,it can effectively be controlled by the proportion of Ni(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O,NH_(4)Cl,and CO(NH_(2))_(2).The structure of NiO/SiCw samples was investigated by XRD,SEM,XPS,TEM,and N2 absorption-desorption.Compared to other morphologies of NiO,the flower-like NiO/SiCw possess a porous structure and large surface area that can benefit from the multiple reflections and attenuation of the microwave.As an absorber,the composite with the flower-like NiO/SiCw filler loading of 50%manifests a superior microwave attenuation capability due to its special porous structure,good impedance matching,and large dielectric loss induced from heterojunction interfacial polarization.The minimum reflection loss of flower-like NiO/SiCw is up to-56.8 dB with a thickness of 1.9 mm,and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)reaches 5.17 GHz.The as-prepared flower-like NiO/SiCw with strong absorption,thin thickness,and width EAB can meet the potential requirements for microwave absorption materials under oxidation environments. | Jingpeng Chen Ge Song Zhuo Liu Lijing Xie Shoushun Zhang Chengmeng Chen | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9: | 0 |
| 12 | Predictability and Risk of Extreme Winter PM_(2.5)Concentration in Beijing显示文摘Air pollution remains a serious environmental and social problem in many big cities in the world.How to predict and estimate the risk of extreme air pollution is unsettled yet.This study tries to provide a solution to this challenge by examining the winter PM_(2.5)concentration in Beijing based on the UNprecedented Simulation of Extremes with ENsembles(UNSEEN)method.The PM_(2.5)concentration observations in Beijing,Japanese 55-yr reanalysis data,and the Met Office near term climate prediction system(DePreSys3a)large ensemble simulations are used,and 10,000proxy series are generated with the model fidelity test.It is found that in Beijing,the main meteorological driver of PM_(2.5)concentration is monthly 850-hPa meridional wind(V850).Although the skill in prediction of V850 is low on seasonal and longer timescales,based on the UNSEEN,we use large ensemble of initialized climate simulations of V850 to estimate the current chance and risk of unprecedented PM_(2.5)concentration in Beijing.We unravel that there is a 3%(2.1%–3.9%)chance of unprecedented low monthly V850 corresponding to high PM_(2.5)in each winter,within the 95%range,calculated by bootstrap resampling of the data.Moreover,we use the relationship between air quality and winds to remove the meridional wind influence from the observed record,and find that anthropogenic intervention appears to have reduced the risk of extreme PM_(2.5)in Beijing in recent years. | Jingpeng LIU Adam A.SCAIFE Nick DUNSTONE Hong-Li REN Doug SMITH Steven CHARDIMAN Bo WU | 2023 | Journal of Meteorological Research2023,37,5: | 0 |

| 14 | The optimal dietary arginine level of laying hens fed with low-protein diets显示文摘Background:Arginine(Arg)is an essential amino acid(EAA)in poultry,an important substrate for protein synthesis and a precursor of several molecules.Supplementation of EAAs with low protein(LP)diet increases the utilization efficiency of dietary crude protein(CP).However,if the EAA requirement is changed in hens fed a LP diet remains to be elucidated.The aim of the present study was to evaluate the optimal level of dietary Arg in the LP diet of hens.A total of 1350 Hy-Line Brown laying hens were randomly allocated to six dietary treatments:a basal diet(16%CP,positive control),or an isoenergetic LP diet(14%CP,0.80%Arg)supplemented 0,0.05%,0.10%,0.15%,and 0.20%L-Arg,corresponding to 0.80%,0.85%,0.90%,0.95%and 1.00%dietary Arg,respectively.Results:The feed efficiency was decreased(P<0.05)by 0.80%and 1.00%Arg-LP diets,compared to control.Within LP diets,dietary Arg level had significant quadratic effects(P<0.05)on laying rate,egg mass,and feed efficiency.Compared to control,the plasma CAT activity or T-AOC content were decreased by 0.80%(P<0.001).However,the hens offered 0.85%and 0.90%Arg-LP diets had higher CAT activity(P<0.001)than 0.80%Arg-LP diet.In contrast,1.00%Arg-LP group had the highest MDA and the lowest T-AOC content in plasma,liver,duodenal and jejunal mucosa(P<0.05).Compared to control,the villus height was decreased by 0.80%,0.95%and 1.00%Arg-LP diets,while the villus height to crypt depth(V/C)ratio was reduced by 0.95%and 1.00%Arg-LP diets in duodenum.Conclusion:The result demonstrates that LP diet(14%CP)deficient in Arg(0.80%Arg)result in augmented oxidative damage and impaired development of intestinal mucosa.According to the quadratic broken-line regression model,the optimal dietary arginine levels for Hy-Line Brown laying hens fed with low protein diet(14%CP)aged 33 to 40 weeks are 0.85%,0.86%,and 0.86%to obtained the maximum laying rate,egg mass,and feed efficiency,respectively. | Mingfa Sun Ning Ma Hui Liu Yu Liu Yunlei Zhou Jingpeng Zhao Xiaojuan Wang Haifang Li Baishun Ma Hongchao Jiao Hai Lin | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6: | 0 |
| 15 | Prevotella and succinate treatments altered gut microbiota,increased laying performance,and suppressed hepatic lipid accumulation in laying hens显示文摘Background This work aimed to investigate the potential benefits of administering Prevotella and its primary metabolite succinate on performance,hepatic lipid accumulation and gut microbiota in laying hens.Results One hundred and fifty 58-week-old Hyline Brown laying hens,with laying rate below 80%and plasma triglyceride(TG)exceeding 5 mmol/L,were used in this study.The hens were randomly allocated into 5 groups and subjected to one of the following treatments:fed with a basal diet(negative control,NC),oral gavage of 3 mL/hen saline every other day(positive control,PC),gavage of 3 mL/hen Prevotella melaninogenica(10^(7)CFU/mL,PM)or 3 mL/hen Prevotella copri(10^(7)CFU/mL,P.copri)every other day,and basal diet supplemented with 0.25%sodium succinate(Succinate).The results showed that PM and P.copri treatments significantly improved laying rate compared to the PC(P<0.05).The amount of lipid droplet was notably decreased by PM,P.copri,and Succinate treatments at week 4 and decreased by P.copri at week 8(P<0.05).Correspondingly,the plasma TG level in Succinate group was lower than that of PC(P<0.05).Hepatic TG content,however,was not significantly influenced at week 4 and 8(P>0.05).PM treatment increased(P<0.05)the mRNA levels of genes PGC-1βand APB-5B at week 4,and ACC and CPT-1 at week 8.The results indicated enhanced antioxidant activities at week 8,as evidenced by reduced hepatic malondialdehyde(MDA)level and improved antioxidant enzymes activities in PM and Succinate groups(P<0.05).Supplementing with Prevotella or succinate can alter the cecal microbiota.Specifically,the abundance of Prevotella in the Succinate group was significantly higher than that in the other 4 groups at the family and genus levels(P<0.05).Conclusions Oral intake of Prevotella and dietary supplementation of succinate can ameliorate lipid metabolism of laying hens.The beneficial effect of Prevotella is consistent across different species.The finding highlights that succinate,the primary metabolite of Prevotella,represents a more feasible feed additive for alleviating fatty liver in laying hens. | Min Liu Zeyue Kang Xikang Cao Hongchao Jiao Xiaojuan Wang Jingpeng Zhao Hai Lin | 2024 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2024,15,2: | 0 |
| 16 | Effect of dexamethasone on hypothalamic expression of appetite-related genes in chickens under different diet and feeding conditions显示文摘Background: Glucocorticoids(GCs) are involved in the control of appetite in birds and mammals. The effect of GCs on feed intake in birds depends on their dietary energy level. But the regulation mechanism of GCs on appetite is still unclear in chickens facing to different energy level. An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of dexamethasone(DEX) on hypothalamic expression of appetite-related peptides in chickens fed high/low fat diet and under fasting/feeding condition.Results: An interaction between DEX injection and dietary energy level was found on hypothalamic corticotropinreleasing hormone(CRH) gene expression in fasted chickens(P < 0.05). The chickens, given a DEX injection and a low fat diet treatment, had the highest CRH m RNA levels than any of the fasted chickens given treatments(P < 0.05).Under fasting conditions, the DEX treatment significantly increased hypothalamic neuropeptide Y(NPY) and GC receptors m RNA levels(P < 0.05).
