| 1 | The biological content of ballast water in China:A review显示文摘The introduction of species through the release of ballast water has become a major threats to marine biodiversity and ecosystem function worldwide.China is one of the top trading countries,yet little is known about exotic species in the ballast water of ships coming to its ports.Here,we review the biological surveys of ballast water from major Chinese ports.These surveys reveal that 40 species of nonindigenous phytoplankton that,belong to 25 genera and five phyla,have been observed in ballast water.The dominant species are diatoms and dinoflagellates.There were 17 red-tide causing species observed,five of which are noxious algae.Seventeen species of non-indigenous zooplankton have been reported,most of them(11)copepods.There were also 22 species of pathogenic bacteria recorded,including Vibrio alginolyticus,V.carchariae,V.parahaemolyticus,and V.vulnificus.These studies show that species introduction through ballast water potentially a serious threat to the ecology and human health in China.More research,including collaboration with the international community,is urgently needed to address this problem. | Huixian Wu Chen Chen Qiong Wang Junda Lin Junzeng Xue | 2017 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2017,2,6: | 11 |

| 3 | Water,organic matter,nitrogen and phosphorus contents in sediment of a large-scale mariculture area in the Zhelin Bay of eastern Guangdong Province,China显示文摘The Zhelin Bay is one of the most important bays for large-scale mariculture in Guangdong Province, China. Owing to the increasing human population and the expanding mariculture in the last two decades, the ecological environment has greatly changed with frequent harmful algal blooms. A monthly survey of water content, organic matter (TOM), and various forms of nitrogen and phosphorous in sediment from July 2002 to July 2003 in the bay was conducted. The results showed that the water content was correlated significantly with TOM and various forms of nitrogen and phosphorus and can be used as proxy for quick and rough estimate of these factors in the future surveys. TOM was also correlated significantly with various forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, indicating that it was one of the key factors affecting the concentrations and distributions of nitrogen and phosphorus in the investigated waters. Average total Kjeldhal nitrogen (TkN) content was(1 113.1±382.5)μg/g and average total phosphorus (TP) content was(567.2±223.3)μg/g, and both were much higher than those of similar estuaries in China and elsewhere. Average nitrogen and phosphorus tended to be higher inside than outside the bay, higher at aquaculture than non-aquaculture areas, and higher at fish-cage culture than oyster culture areas, suggesting that large-scale mariculture inside the bay played an important role in the eutrophication of the Zhelin Bay. Various forms of nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations were higher during the warm season (July—September), which was due to the increased decomposition and concentration of organic matter resulted from the fast growth and high mortality of the cultured species. Compared with July 2002, TkN and TP contents were much higher in July 2003, in consonance with the eutrophication of the Zhelin Bay. Because exchangeable phosphorus (Ex-P), iron-bounded phosphorus (Fe-P) and organic phosphorus (OP) combined accounted for 34.3% of the TP and authigenic phosphorus (Au-P) accounted for 49.2% of the TP, biological phosphorus (BP) that includes Ex-P, Fe-P, OP, and a portion of Au-P, thus accounted for 34.3% to 83.5% of the TP in the Zhelin Bay, which was within the percentage range, but with a high absolute value among the estuaries. Au-P was the most important species of phosphorus and accounted for 49.2% of the TP during the investigation. | 4 | Polyculture of the lined seahorse,Hippocampus erectus Perry,1810 with two species of macroalgae in aquaria显示文摘A two-month study was conducted to test the effects of macroalgae on the growth and survivorship of juvenile lined seahorse(Hippocampus erectus) in aquaria. Twenty-day old seahorses were cultured in the tanks with green alga Chaetomorpha linum,red alga Gracilaria tikvahiae,green plastic artificial plant(stargrass) ,and black plastic net,respectively. Increases in wet mass and standard length for the seahorses were significantly higher in the tanks with macroalgae than those without macroalgae. The seahorse survivorships in the two macroalgal treatments were also significantly higher than those of the two treatments without macroalgae. In the treatments with macroalgae,the DO and pH were higher than those without marcoalgae. During the experiment,the color of seahorses was changed to certain extent. In the green background(the treatments with C. linum and stargrass) ,24.1%-28.4% of black seahorses decreased over time;whereas in the black(plastic net) or brown(G. tikvahiae) background treatments,14.1%-16.3% of yellow seahorses decreased over time,for matching that of the background. Furthermore,the survival rate of seahorse was correlation with DO and pH,and strong correlation with standard length,wet mass and CF. | 5 | Structurally tunable characteristics of ionic liquids for optimizing lithium plating/stripping via electrolyte engineering显示文摘Electrolyte chemistry offers the opportunity to regulate the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) and Li^(+)solvation,which is considered to be crucial to the growth of lithium crystals for safe lithium metal batteries(LMBs).Structurally tunable characteristics of ionic liquids(ILs) from anion type,cationic substituent chain length and cationic substituents,will contribute this field.Here,we explore the influence mechanism of imidazole-based ILs as electrolyte additives on Li+solvation and the formation of SEI.ILs can participate into the formation of efficient SEI,together with cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI).Moreover,ILs can also regulate the sheath structure of Li^(+)solvation,to fasten the kinetics of Li.Furthermore,the imidazole-based cations with long alkyl chain can form an electrostatic shield around newly formed Li nucleus,and suppress further Li plating at this site.Under the optimized condition,the 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([OMIm]TFSI) additive shows the best ability to enhance the electrochemical performance,endowing the Li||Li symmetric cell with a stable life(over800 h) at 0.5 mA cm^(-2) and the Li||LiNi_(0.6)Mn_(0.2)Co_(0.2)O_(2)(NMC622) full cell with a high capacity of 141.7 mAh g^(-1) after 200 cycles at 0.5 C. | Shihan Qi Jiandong Liu Jian He Huaping Wang Mingguang Wu Daxiong Wu Junda Huang Fang Li Xin Li Yurong Ren Jianmin Ma | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12: | 2 |
| 6 | Pseudo-concentrated electrolytes for lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium metal batteries suffer from short lifespans and low Coulombic efficiency (CE) due to the high reactivity of Li and the poor stability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Herein, we propose the concept of a pseudo-concentrated electrolyte (PCE) induced by an electron-deficient additive (4-pyridylboronic acid;4-PBA) to form a robust, LiF-rich SEI, thus addressing the above issues. Molecular dynamics simulations confirm that 4-PBA can increase the coordination number of PF6^(-) anions in the Li+ solvation sheath to achieve pseudo-concentrated LiPF6 in the electrolyte. Moreover, the 4-PBA can scavenge harmful PF5 decomposed from LiPF6 to stabilize the LiF-rich SEI. The resulting robust LiF-rich SEI promotes Li growth along the SEI/Li interface and represses the growth of Li dendrites. Thus, excellent performance is achieved, with a high CE of 97.1% for a Li||Cu cell at 1.0 mA cm^(−2), and over 950 cycles at 0.5 mA cm^(−2) for Li||Li symmetric cells with 1.0 wt% 4-PBA electrolyte. | 9 | Impact of nanoparticle-induced scattering of an azimuthally propagating mode on the resonance of whispering gallery microcavities显示文摘Optical whispering gallery microcavities with high-quality factors have shown great potential toward achieveing ultrahigh-sensitivity sensing up to a single molecule or nanoparticle, which raises a huge demand on a deep theoretical insight into the crucial phenomena such as the mode shift, mode splitting, and mode broadening in sensing experiments. Here we propose an intuitive model to analyze these phenomena from the viewpoint of the nanoparticle-induced multiple scattering of the azimuthally propagating mode(APM). The model unveils explicit relations between these phenomena and the phase change and energy loss of the APM when scattered at the nanoparticle; the model also explains the observed polarization-dependent preservation of one resonance and the particle-dependent redshift or blueshift.
