1Magnetocaloric and magneto-transport properties of Gd_(10)Co_(20)Si_(70) alloy显示文摘We report the results of magnetic, thermodynamic, transport and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) studies of newly synthesized Gd_(10)Co_(20)Si_(70) alloy. These measurements confirm an antiferromagnetic transition at T_N=9 K. Both MCE and magnetoresistance (MR) show quadratic dependence on the applied magnetic field, indicating the presence of spin fluctuations in the alloy. The maximum values of the magnetic entropy change determined from the isothermal magnetization data for magnetic field change of 7 and9 T are found to be 10.5 and 15.6 J/kg·K, respectively. As a consequence of the spin fluctuations effect, the MCE peaks are pulled towards high temperature side as asymmetrically broadened peak. The MR attains a large positive value of 73%at 2 K in 8 T. 2Spectral characteristics of banded iron formations in Singhbhum craton,eastern India:Implications for hematite deposits on Mars显示文摘Banded iron formations(BIFs) are major rock units having hematite layers intermittent with silica rich layers and formed by sedimentary processes during late Archean to mid Proterozoic time. In terrestrial environment, hematite deposits are mainly found associated with banded iron formations. The BIFs in Lake Superior(Canada) and Carajas(Brazil) have been studied by planetary scientists to trace the evolution of hematite deposits on Mars. Hematite deposits are extensively identified in Meridiani region on Mars. Many hypotheses have been proposed to decipher the mechanism for the formation of these deposits. On the basis of geomorphological and mineralogical studies, aqueous environment of deposition is found to be the most supportive mechanism for its secondary iron rich deposits. In the present study, we examined the spectral characteristics of banded iron formations of Joda and Daitari located in Singhbhum craton in eastern India to check its potentiality as an analog to the aqueous/marine environment on Mars. The prominent banding feature of banded iron formations is in the range of few millimeters to few centimeters in thickness. Fe rich bands are darker(gray) in color compared to the light reddish jaspilitic chert bands. Thin quartz veins(<4 mm) are occasionally observed in the handspecimens of banded iron formations. Spectral investigations have been conducted in VIS/NIR region of electromagnetic spectrum in the laboratory conditions. Optimum absorption bands identified include 0.65, 0.86, 1.4 and 1.9 mm, in which 0.56 and 0.86 mm absorption bands are due to ferric iron and 1.4 and1.9 mm bands are due to OH/H_2O. To validate the mineralogical results obtained from VIS/NIR spectral radiometry, laser Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic techniques were utilized and the results were found to be similar. Goethite-hematite association in banded iron formation in Singhbhum craton suggests dehydration activity, which has altered the primary iron oxide phases into the secondary iron oxide phases. 4Optimal Algorithms for Load Balancing in Optical Burst Switching Networks显示文摘Data packet drop can happen in Optical Burst-Switched(OBS)when two data bursts are competing on the same wavelength.Recently,many techniques have been developed to solve this problem but they do not consider the congestion.Also,it is necessary to balance the load system in the OBS network.The Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)technique can be applied to determine the straight and the safest route.However,the ACO technique raises both power utilization as well as the execution time.In this study,Cuckoo Search(CS)and ACO methods based approach is proposed to avoid the congestion and load balancing in the OBS network.This strategy evaluates the intensity of hotspot data and then launches the congestion rate optimization process that depends on their load situations.The congestion rate optimization represents the available bandwidth,data distribution rate,queue size,and access rate,and also these factors are optimized through the CS technique.The fitness utility in the CS technique adjusts the distribution rate in the OBS network,and the proposed ACO technique solves the energy utilization problem.The simulation results proved that the presented strategy evades both the end-to-end delay as well as the possibility of packet drop.K.Arun Kumar V.R.Venkatasubramani S.Rajaram 2022Computer Systems Science & Engineering2022,42,8:0
