| 1 | Comparative Study on the Protease Inhibitors from Fish Eggs显示文摘The protease inhibitor was purified from five different fish eggs. The molecular weights of Pacific herring, chumsalmon, pond smelt, glassfish, and Alaska pollock egg protease inhibitors were 120, 89, 84.5, 17, and 16.8 kDa, respective-ly. The specific inhibitory activity of glassfish egg protease inhibitor was the highest followed by those of Pacific herring andAlaska pollock in order. The specific inhibitory activity and purity of glassfish egg protease inhibitor were 19.70 U mg -1 pro-tein and 164.70 folds of purification, respectively. Glassfish egg protease inhibitor was reasonably stable at 50 - 65 °C and pH 8,which was more stable at high temperature and pH than protease inhibitors from the other fish species. | 2 | Photoluminescence enhancement of red-emitting GdVO_4:Eu and YVO_4:Eu phosphors by adding zinc显示文摘We synthesized the rare-earth activated R0.94-xEu0.06ZnxVO4 (R: Gd and Y; 0≤x≤0.08) phosphors with a spherical morphology and a smooth surface by the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The annealed R0.94-xEu0.06ZnxVO4 crystallized in the tetragonal zircon type structure, belonging to the space group of I41/amd. The incorporation of a small amount of Zn to R0.94Eu0.06VO4 improved the emission characteristics. The emission intensities of the Gd0.88Eu0.06Zn0.06VO4 and Y0.9Eu0.06Zn0.04VO4 phosphors at 619 nm were 72% and 21% stronger than those of the Gd0.94Eu0.06VO4 and Y0.94Eu0.06VO4 phosphors, respectively. | 5 | Influence of magnetic field and thermal radiation by natural convection past vertical cone subjected to variable surface heat flux显示文摘A numerical study is performed to examine the heat transfer characteristics of natural convection past a vertical cone under the combined effects of magnetic field and thermal radiation.The surface of the cone is subjected to a variable surface heat flux.The fluid considered is a gray,absorbing-emitting radiation but a non-scattering medium.With approximate transformations,the boundary layer equations governing the flow are reduced to non-dimensional equations valid in the free convection regime.The dimensionless governing equations are solved by an implicit finite difference method of Crank-Nicolson type which is fast convergent,accurate,and unconditionally stable.Numerical results are obtained and presented for velocity,temperature,local and average wall shear stress,and local and average Nusselt number in air and water.The present results are compared with the previous published work and are found to be in excellent agreement. | G.PALANI K.Y.KIM | 2012 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2012,33,5: | 1 |
