| 2 | Allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy exhibits promising clinical safety and prolongs the survival of patients with late-stage lung or liver cancer显示文摘Vγ9Vδ2 T cells are promising candidates for cellular tumor immunotherapy.Due to their HLA-independent mode of action,allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells can be considered for clinical application.To apply allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in adoptive immunotherapy,the methodology used to obtain adequate cell numbers with optimal effector function in vitro needs to be optimized,and clinical safety and efficacy also need to be proven.Therefore,we developed a novel formula to improve the expansion of peripheralγδT cells from healthy donors.Then,we used a humanized mouse model to validate the therapeutic efficacy of expandedγδT cells in vivo;furthermore,the expandedγδT cells were adoptively transferred into late-stage liver and lung cancer patients.We found that the expanded cells possessed significantly improved immune effector functions,including proliferation,differentiation,and cancer cell killing,both in vitro and in the humanized mouse model.Furthermore,a phase I clinical trial in 132 late-stage cancer patients with a total of 414 cell infusions unequivocally validated the clinical safety of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T cells.Among these 132 patients,8 liver cancer patients and 10 lung cancer patients who received≥5 cell infusions showed greatly prolonged survival,which preliminarily verified the efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell therapy.Our clinical studies underscore the safety and efficacy of allogeneic Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell immunotherapy,which will inspire further clinical investigations and eventually benefit cancer patients. | Yan Xu Zheng Xiang Mohammed Alnaggar Léonce Kouakanou Jiawei Li Junyi He Jiashuang Yang Yi Hu Yan Chen Li Lin Jianlei Hao Jingxia Li Jibing Chen Man Li Qingling Wu Christian Peters Qinghua Zhou Jianshuang Li Yingqing Liang Xiaohua Wang Baohui Han Meili Ma Dieter Kabelitz Kecheng Xu Wenwei Tu Yangzhe Wu Zhinan Yin | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,2: | 8 |
| 3 | Progress on design and related R&D activities for the water-cooled breeder blanket for CFETR显示文摘The water-cooled ceramic breeder (WCCB) blanket is one of the blanket candidates for Chinese fusion engineering testing reactor (CFETR) and is being developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP). This paper reviews design and evolution of the WCCB blanket for CFETR, and presents a new WCCB blanket design according to the latest CFETR core parameters (major and minor radii are R = 7.2 m and a = 2.2 m, respectively) and missions. This new design is expected to satisfy multiple CFETR operation modes of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 GW fusion power and achieve tritium self-sufficiency. The feasibility of the updated blanket design is evaluated from the aspects of neutronics and thermo-hydraulics. | 8 | Vibrational characteristics of rotating soft cylinders显示文摘Rotating structural components are omnipresent in engineering structures and natural world. This work investigates the effects of the centrifugal and Coriolis forces on the free vibrational characteristics of soft cylinders rotating with respect to the axis of symmetry based on the nonlinear elasticity and linear incremental theories. The formulations indicate that the biasing deformation, instantaneous elastic moduli, and incremental equations of motion strongly depend on the rotating speed. The characteristic equation for the natural frequency is derived using the state-space method and approximate laminate technique.The numerical examples included in this work demonstrate that the centrifugal and Coriolis forces might have significant effects on the vibrational characteristics of the cylinder. | 12 | Cyclic Ether Contaminant Removal from Water Using Nonporous Adaptive Pillararene Crystals via Host-Guest Complexation at the Solid-Solution Interface显示文摘Te removal of soluble cyclic ether contaminants,such as dioxane and THF,produced in industrial chemical processes from water is of great importance for environmental protection and human health.Here we report that nonporous adaptive crystals of perethylated pillar[5]arene(EtP5)and pillar[6]arene(EtP6)work as adsorbents for cyclic ether contaminant removal via hostguest complexation at the solid-solution interface.Nonporous EtP6 crystals have the ability to adsorb dioxane from water with the formation of 1:2 host-guest complex crystals,while EtP5 crystals cannot.However,both guest-free EtP5 and EtP6 crystals remove THF from water with EtP5 having a better capacity.Tis is because EtP5 forms a 1:2 host-guest complex with THF via host-guest complexation at the solid-solution interface while EtP6 forms a 1:1 host-guest complex with THF.EtP6 also shows the ability to selectively remove dioxane from water even in the presence of THF.Moreover,the reversible transitions between nonporous guestfree EtP5 and EtP6 structures and guest-loaded structures make them highly recyclable. | Yujuan Zhou Kecheng Jie Run Zhao Errui Li Feihe Huang | 2019 | Research2019,,1: | 2 |

| 18 | Preparation and Tribological Behavior of Hydrophobic Lanthanum Borate Nanosheets in Rapeseed Oil显示文摘Oleic acid-capped lanthanum borate(abbreviated as OA/La BO_3·H_2O) nanosheets were prepared by the hydrothermal method. The microstructures of as-prepared OA/La BO_3·H_2O were characterized by means of SEM, TEM, EDS, FTIR and XRD, respectively. Moreover, the friction and wear properties of OA/La BO_3·H_2O as a lubricant additive in rapeseed oil were evaluated on a four-ball tribotester. The tribochemical characteristics of worn surfaces were investigated by SEM and XPS. The results showed that the hydrophobic OA/La BO_3·H_2O nanosheets exhibited their morphology with a diameter in the range of 100 nm to 300 nm and a thickness of about 25 nm, and displayed excellent dispersing stability in rapeseed oil. In the meantime, the rapeseed oil doped with OA/La BO_3·H_2O nanosheets markedly decreased the friction and wear of steel balls, and the optimal friction-reducing and antiwear ability of rapeseed oil was obtained at an OA/La BO_3·H_2O content of 1.0%.
