1Differential expression of interleukin-1/Toll-like receptor signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis patients.METHODS:Total RNA and microRNA were isolated from fresh frozen colonic biopsies of non-inflamed controls and patients with active or in-remission collagenous colitis(CC),lymphocytic colitis(LC),or ulcerative colitis(UC).We compared expressions of interleukin-1receptor-associated kinase(IRAK)-2,IRAK-M,interleukin(IL)-37,microRNA(miR)-146a,miR-155,and miR-21 using quantitative real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:IRAK-M expression was increased in LC patients with active disease in histopathological remission(LC-HR;P=0.02)and UC patients(P=0.01),but no differences in IRAK-2 expression were detected compared to controls.miR-146a,-155 and-21 expressions were increased in LC-HR(P=0.04,0.07,and 0.004)and UC(P=0.02,0.04 and 0.03)patients.miR-146a and miR-21 expressions were significantly enhanced in UC patients compared to UC remission(UC-R;P=0.01and 0.04).Likewise,active CC patients showed significantly increased expression of miR-155(P=0.003)and miR-21(P=0.006).IL-37 expression was decreased in both CC(P=0.03)and LC(P=0.04)patients with a similar trend in UC patients but not statistically significant,whilst it was increased in UC-R patients compared to controls(P=0.02)and active UC(P=0.001).CONCLUSION:The identification of differentially expressed miRNAs,IL-37,and IRAK-M suggests different pathophysiologic mechanisms in various disease stages in LC,CC,and UC.Sezin Gunaltay Nils Nyhlin Ashok Kumar Kumawat Curt Tysk Johan Bohr Olof Hultgren Elisabeth Hultgren Hornquist 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,34:11
2Potential of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria-plant interactions in mitigating salt stress for sustainable agriculture:A review显示文摘Soil salinization affecting different crops is one of the serious threats to global food security.Soil salinity affects 20%and 33%of the total cultivated and irrigated agricultural lands,respectively,and has been reported to caused a global crop production loss of 27.3 billion USD.The conventional approaches,such as using salt-tolerant varieties,saline soil scrapping,flushing,leaching,and adding supplements (e.g.,gypsum and lime),often fail to alleviate stress.In this context,developing diverse arrays of microbes enhancing crop productivity under saline soil conditions without harming soil health is necessary.Various advanced omics approaches have enabled gaining new insights into the structure and metabolic functions of plant-associated beneficial microbes.Various genera of salt-tolerating rhizobacteria ameliorating biotic and abiotic stresses have been isolated from different legumes,cereals,vegetables,and oil seeds under extreme alkaline and saline soil conditions.Rapid progress in rhizosphere microbiome research has revived the belief that plants may be more benefited from their association with interacting diverse microbial communities as compared with individual members in a community.In the last decade,several salt-tolerating plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) that improve crop production under salt stress have been exploited for the reclamation of saline agrosystems.This review highlights that the interaction of salt-tolerating microbes with plants improves crop productivity under salinity stress along with potential salt tolerance mechanisms involved and will open new avenues for capitalizing on cultivable diverse microbial communities to strengthen plant salt tolerance and,thus,to refine agricultural practices and production under saline conditions.Kailash Chand KUMAWAT Sharon NAGPAL Poonam SHARMA 2022Pedosphere2022,32,2:5
3Fecal stream diversion and mucosal cytokine levels in collagenous colitis:A case report显示文摘In this case report, we examined the levels of cytokines expressed before and during fecal stream diversion and after intestinal continuity was restored in a patient with collagenous colitis. We report the case of a46-year-old woman with chronic, active collagenous colitis who either failed to achieve clinical remission or experienced adverse effects with the following drugs:loperamide, cholestyramine, budesonide, methotrexate and adalimumab. Due to the intractable nature of the disease and because the patient was having up to 15 watery bowel movements per day, she underwent a temporary ileostomy. Colonic biopsies were analyzed for mucosal cytokine protein levels before and during fecal stream diversion and after intestinal continuity was restored. Mucosal protein levels of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-2, IL-6, IL-12, IL-17 A, IL-23, TNF, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5,IL-10 and IL-13 were all higher during active disease and decreased to non-detectable or considerably lower levels during fecal stream diversion. One month after the restoration of bowel continuity, when the patient experienced a relapse of symptoms, IL-2, IL-23 and IL-21 levels were again increased. Our results indicate that fecal stream diversion in this patient suppressed the levels of all cytokines analyzed in colonic biopsies. With the recurrence of clinical symptoms and histological changes after bowel reconstruction,the levels of primarily proinflammatory cytokines increased. 12Source Code Prioritization Using Forward Slicing for Exposing Critical Elements in a Program显示文摘Even after thorough testing,a few bugs still remain in a program with moderate complexity.These residual bugs are randomly distributed throughout the code.We have noticed that bugs in some parts of a program cause frequent and severe failures compared to those in other parts.Then,it is necessary to take a decision about what to test more and what to test less within the testing budget.It is possible to prioritize the methods and classes of an object-oriented program according to their potential to cause failures.For this,we propose a program metric called influence metric to find the influence of a program element on the source code.First,we represent the source code into an intermediate graph called extended system dependence graph.Then,forward slicing is applied on a node of the graph to get the influence of that node.The influence metric for a method m in a program shows the number of statements of the program which directly or indirectly use the result produced by method m.We compute the influence metric for a class c based on the influence metric of all its methods.As influence metric is computed statically,it does not show the expected behavior of a class at run time.It is already known that faults in highly executed parts tend to more failures.Therefore,we have considered operational profile to find the average execution time of a class in a system.Then,classes are prioritized in the source code based on influence metric and average execution time.The priority of an element indicates the potential of the element to cause failures.Once all program elements have been prioritized,the testing effort can be apportioned so that the elements causing frequent failures will be tested thoroughly.We have conducted experiments for two well-known case studies - Library Management System and Trading Automation System - and successfully identified critical elements in the source code of each case study.We have also conducted experiments to compare our scheme with a related scheme.The experimental studies justify that our approach is more accurate than the existing ones in exposing critical elements at the implementation level.Mitrabinda Ray Kanhaiya lal Kumawat Durga Prasad Mohapatra 2011Journal of Computer Science & Technology2011,26,2:1
