| 1 | PIV measurements of turbulent jets issuing from triangular and circular orifice plates显示文摘The present study experimentally investigated the near-field flow mixing characteristics of two turbulent jets issuing from equilateral triangular and circular orifice plates into effectively unbounded surroundings,respectively.Planar particle image velocimetry(PIV) was applied to measure the velocity field at the same Reynolds number of Re=50,000,where Re = UeDe /with Ue being the exit bulk velocity and the kinematic viscosity of fluid,D e the equivalent diameters.The instantaneous velocity,mean velocity,Reynolds stresses were obtained.From the mean velocity field,the centreline velocity decay rate and half-velocity width were derived.Comparing the mixing characteristics of the two jets,it is found that the triangular jet has a faster mixing rate than the circular counterpart.The triangular jet entrainments with the ambient fluid at a higher rate in the near field.This is evidenced by a shorter unmixed core,faster Reynolds stress and centreline turbulence intensity growth.The primary coherent structures in the near field are found to break down more rapidly in the triangular jet as compared to the circular jet.Over the entire measurement region,the triangular jet maintained a higher rate of decay and spread.Moreover,all components of Reynolds stress of the triangular jet appear to reach their peaks earlier,and then decay more rapidly than those of the circular jet.In addition,the axis-switching phenomenon is observed in the triangular jet. | XU MinYi ZHANG JianPeng MI JianChun NATHAN G J KALT P A M | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013，56，6： | 7 |
| 2 | Advanced topics on RF amplitude and phase detection for low-level RF systems显示文摘Low-level radio frequency(LLRF)systems stabilize the electromagnetic field in the RF cavities used for beam acceleration in particle accelerators.Reliable,accurate,and precise detection of RF amplitude and phase is particularly important to achieve high field stability for pulsed accelerators of free-electron lasers(FEL).The digital LLRF systems employ analog-to-digital converters to sample the frequency down-converted RF signal and use digital demodulation algorithms to calculate the RF amplitude and phase.Different sampling strategies and demodulation algorithms have been developed for these purposes and are introduced in this paper.This article focuses on advanced topics concerning RF detection,including accurate RF transient measurement,wideband RF detection,and RF detection with an asynchronous trigger,local oscillator,or clock.The analysis is based on the SwissFEL measurements,but the algorithms introduced are general for RF signal detection in particle accelerators. | Zhe-Qiao Geng Roger Kalt | 2019 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2019，30，10： | 2 |
| 3 | Mean and fluctuating velocity fields of a diamond turbulent jet显示文摘The present paper reports the first investigation on a turbulent jet issuing from a diamond orifice(hereafter termed a 'diamond jet') with an aspect ratio of 1.7.Velocity measurements were conducted in the transitional region,and the exit Reynolds number of the jet was 50000.For comparison,a round jet with identical normalized boundary conditions was also measured.It is shown that the diamond jet decays and spreads faster than the round jet does over the measured flow region.The axis-switching phenomenon is observed in the diamond jet.Although both jets display primary coherent structures in the near field,these structures are found to break down more rapidly in the diamond jet,due to the higher three-dimensionality of the flow.Moreover,the streamwise components of the Reynolds normal stress and all the shear stresses reach their maxima around the location of the maximal mean shear while the maxima of the lateral components of the Reynolds normal stresses occur around the centreline of the jet. | 徐敏义 张健鹏 米建春 Nathan G.J. | 15 | Polymeric photonic molecule super-mode lasers on silicon显示文摘Optically coupled microcavities have emerged as photonic structures with promising properties for investigation of fundamental science as well as for applications.We report on the fabrication and spatially resolved spectroscopy of on-chip photonic molecule(PM)lasers consisting of two coupled,dye-doped polymeric microdisks on a silicon substrate.We investigate the fundamental lasing properties with focus on the spatial distribution of modes,the coupling dependent suppression of lasing modes,and in particular the application-oriented operation of these devices in aqueous environments.By depositing an additional polymer layer onto the lithographically structured cavities made of dye-doped poly(methyl methacrylate),coupling-gap widths below 150 nm with aspect ratios of the micro-/nanostructure exceeding 9:1 are achieved.This enables strong optical coupling at visible wavelengths despite relatively small resonator radii of 25 μm.The lasing properties of dye-doped PMs are investigated using spatially resolved micro-photoluminescence(μ-PL)spectroscopy.This technique allows for the direct imaging of whispering-gallery modes(WGMs)in the photonics molecules.For subwavelength coupling gaps,we observe lasing from delocalized eigenstates of the PMs(termed in the following as super-modes).Using size-mismatched cavities,the lasing mode suppression for different coupling-gap widths is investigated.We further demonstrate single-mode lasing operation in aqueous environments with PMs,which are realized on a low-cost,polymer-on-silicon platform. | Tobias Grossmann Tobias Wienhold Uwe Bog Torsten Beck Christian Friedmann Heinz Kalt Timo Mappes | 2013 | Light(Science & Applications)2013，2，1： | 1 |
