| 1 | Role of in-situ formed free carbon on electromagnetic absorption properties of polymer-derived SiC ceramics显示文摘In order to enhance dielectric properties of polymer-derived SiC ceramics,a novel single-source-precursor was synthesized by the reaction of an allylhydrido polycarbosilane(AHPCS)and divinyl benzene(DVB)to form carbon-rich SiC.As expected,the free carbon contents of resultant SiC ceramics annealed at 1600℃are significantly enhanced from 6.62 wt%to 44.67 wt%.After annealing at 900-1600℃,the obtained carbon-rich SiC ceramics undergo phase separation from amorphous to crystalline feature where superfine SiC nanocrystals and turbostratic carbon networks are dispersed in an amorphous SiC(O)matrix.The dielectric properties and electromagnetic(EM)absorption performance of as-synthesized carbon-rich SiC ceramics are significantly improved by increasing the structural order and content of free carbon.For the 1600℃ ceramics mixed with paraffin wax,the minimum reflection coefficient(RCmin)reaches-56.8 dB at 15.2 GHz with the thickness of 1.51 mm and a relatively broad effective bandwidth(the bandwidth of RC values lower than-10 dB)of 4.43 GHz,indicating the excellent EM absorption performance.The carbon-rich SiC ceramics have to be considered as harsh environmental EM absorbers with excellent chemical stability,high temperature,and oxidation and corrosion resistance. | Zhaoju YU Xuan LV Kangwei MAO Yujing YANG Anhua LIU | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,5: | 5 |

| 3 | Transcriptomic Analysis of Differentially Expressed Genes and Alternative Splicing Events Associated with Crassulacean Acid Metabolism in Orchids显示文摘Phalaenopsis equestris is an obligate crassulacean acid metabolism(CAM) plant with high ornamental and economic value. CAM photosynthesis is associated with drought tolerance and efficient water utilization, which enhances the survival rate of CAM plants in arid environments.The identification and analysis of CAM-related genes will be helpful to improve our understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of CAM metabolism. In this study, we analyzed RNA-Seq data to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs) between circadian day and night in P.equestris leaves then performed GO and KEGG functional enrichment analysis. The pathways that were significantly enriched among these DEGs included carbon fixation, circadian clock regulation, glucose metabolism, photosynthesis, and plant hormone signaling. We also used Pac Bio long-read Iso-Seq technology, which identified many alternative splicing events for key genes in CAM-related pathways, including carbon fixation, circadian clock regulation, and stomatal movement. These findings suggested that alternative splicing events might be involved in CAM metabolism. Many unknown or uncharacterized genes were also found to be potentially involved in CAM metabolism. For example, the Peq000162 gene encodes a protein belonging to the Ldp A(light-dependent period) iron-sulfur protein family, and it was found to generate many alternatively spliced products. These findings shed light on CAM metabolic mechanisms in P. equestris along with the molecular functions of key CAM genes. | 4 | Organic salt-assisted liquid-phase shear exfoliation of expanded graphite into graphene nanosheets显示文摘How to improve the efficiency of liquid-phase shear exfoliation(LPSE)for mass production of large-size graphene nanosheets still remains an ongoing challenge.In this work,we have developed a LPSE method using a rotor-stator mixer.It is quite simple and efficient by exfoliation of expanded graphite(EG)in Nmethyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP)with the assistance of organic salts including sodium citrate,potassium citrate and sodium tartrate.The LPSE of EG in NMP can provide improved yields,up to 6 times as high as values from exfoliation of natural flake graphite(NFG).The additive of organic salts in NMP can make a further improvement in graphene yields,1.5 times higher than that obtained only in NMP.Remarkably,the yields of the as-exfoliated graphene are as high as 10%under optimal conditions,and up to 50%after multiple-cycle exfoliation.Organic salts in LPSE act as analogue grinding aids enhancing the applied shear forces and thus contributing to the improved efficiency of LPSE,but they do not intercalate into the interplanar spaces of graphite.This facile LPSE method should have excellent potential in the large scale production of graphene nanosheets for numerous applications. | Bin Liang Kangwei Liu Peng Liu Long Qian Guangyao Zhao Weisheng Pan Chaojie Chen | 2021 | Journal of Materiomics2021,7,6: | 1 |
