| 1 | Fine mapping of cisc(t),a gene for cold-induced seedling chlorosis, and identification of its candidate in rice显示文摘The seedlings of indica rice cultivar Dular are susceptible to chlorosis under low temperature conditions. Our previous studies indicated that low temperature-induced seedling chlorosis is controlled by a recessive gene, located between SSR markers RM257 and RM242,on the long arm of chromosome 9.We temporarily named the gene cisc(t).Using a large F2 population derived from a cross between Dular and the japonica cultivar Lemont, which displays a normal green color at low temperatures, cisc(t)was fine mapped to within a 12-kb interval. There is only one annotated gene in this interval, which encodes a pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR)protein.Sequence analysis indicated that 8 bases were deleted at the 60th base in the Dular allele, resulting in a frame-shift mutation and loss of function of the gene. This is consistent with the chlorosis mutant phenotype of Dular. In addition, previous studies have shown that many chlorosis mutants of seedlings are related to PPR proteins.Hence,we presume that the PPR gene is the candidate for cisc(t). | LAN Tao WANG Bin LING QiuPing XU ChunHua TONG ZhiJun LIANG KangJing DUAN YuanLin JIN Jing WU WeiRen | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,27: | 5 |
| 2 | Chromosome-level genome assemblies of five Prunus species and genome-wide association studies for key agronomic traits in peach显示文摘Prunus species include many important perennial fruit crops, such as peach, plum, apricot, and related wild species. Here,we report de novo genome assemblies for five species, including the cultivated species peach(Prunus persica),plum(Prunus salicina),and apricot(Prunus armeniaca),and the wild peach species Tibetan peach(Prunus mira)and Chinese wild peach(Prunus davidiana). The genomes ranged from 240 to 276 Mb in size, with contig N50 values of 2.27−8.30Mb and 25,333−27,826 protein-coding gene models. As the phylogenetic tree shows, plum diverged from its common ancestor with peach, wild peach species, and apricot~7 million years ago(MYA).We analyzed whole-genome resequencing data of 417 peach accessions, called 3,749,618 high-quality SNPs,577,154 small indels,31,800 deletions, duplications, and inversions, and 32,338 insertions, and performed a structural variant-based genome-wide association study(GWAS)of key agricultural traits. From our GWAS data,we identified a locus associated with a fruit shape corresponding to the OVATE transcription factor, where a large inversion event correlates with higher OVATE expression in flat-shaped accessions.Furthermore,a GWAS revealed a NAC transcription factor associated with fruit developmental timing that is linked to a tandem repeat variant and elevated NAC expression in early-ripening accessions. We also identified a locus encoding microRNA172d,where insertion of a transposable element into its promoter was found in double-flower accessions. Thus, our efforts have suggested roles for OVATE,a NAC transcription factor, and microRNA172d in fruit shape, fruit development period, and floral morphology, respectively, that can be connected to traits in other crops, thereby demonstrating the importance of parallel evolution in the diversification of several commercially important domesticated species. In general, these genomic resources will facilitate functional genomics, evolutionary research, and agronomic improvement of these five and other Prunus species. We believe that structural variant-based GWASs can also be used in other plants, animal species, and humans and be combined with deep sequencing GWASs to precisely identify candidate genes and genetic architecture components. | Qiuping Tan Sen Li Yuzheng Zhang Min Chen Binbin Wen Shan Jiang Xiude Chen Xiling Fu Dongmei Li Hongyu Wu Yong Wang Wei Xiao Ling Li | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |
| 3 | Optical coherence tomography of the pulmonary arteries in children with congenital heart diseases:A systematic review显示文摘Importance:Optical coherence tomography(OCT)is a high-resolution intravascular imaging tool and has shown promise for providing real-time quantitative and qualitative descriptions of pulmonary vascular structures in vivo in adult pulmonary hypertension(PH),while not popular in pediatric patients with congenital heart diseases(CHD).Objective:The aim of this review is to summarize all the available evidence on the use of OCT for imaging pulmonary vascular remodeling in pediatric patients. Methods:We conducted the systematic literature resources(Cochran Library database,Medline via PubMed,EMBASE,and Web of Knowledge)from January 2010 to December 2021 and the search terms were“PH”,“child”,“children”,“pediatric”,“OCT”,“CHD”,“pulmonary vessels”,“pulmonary artery wall”.Studies in which OCT was used to image the pulmonary vessels in pediatric patients with CHD were considered for inclusion. Results:Five studies met the inclusion criteria. These five papers discussed the study of OCT in the pulmonary vasculature of different types of CHD,including common simple CHD,complex cyanotic CHD,and Williams-Beuren syndrome. In biventricular anatomy, pulmonary vascular remodeling was primarily reflected by pulmonary intima thickening from two-dimensional OCT.In single-ventricle anatomy, due to the state of hypoxia, the morphology of pulmonary vessels was indirectly reflected by the number and shape of nourishing vessels from three-dimensional OCT.Interpretation:OCT may be an adequate imaging procedure for the demonstration of pulmonary vascular structures and provide additional information in pediatric patients. | Ling Sun Qiuping Jiang Yumei Xie Shushui Wang Zhiwei Zhang | 2022 | Pediatric Investigation2022,6,4: | 0 |
| 4 | Cytotoxic sesquiterpene aryl esters from Armillaria gallica 012m显示文摘Objective:To study the chemical constituents of the EtOAc extract of Armillaria gallica 012m.Methods:The chemical constituents of the EtOAc extract of A.gallica 012m were isolated and purified by various column chromatography and their structures were elucidated on the basis of the 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic and HRESIMS data.Cytotoxicity of all isolates against A549,HCT-116,M231 and W256 human tumor cells was determined by the MTT method. Results:A new sesquiterpene aryl ester, armimelleolide C(1),and eight known ones including armillarivin(2),melleolide F(3),6'-chloromelleolide F(4),melleolide(5),melleolide K(6),melledonol(7),13-hydroxydihydromelleolide(8),and armillane(9),were isolated from the EtOAc extract of A.gallica 012m.All isolates showed potential cytotoxic activities against at least one of the human cancer cell lines with IC_(50) values ranging from(3.17±0.54)to(17.57±0.47)μmol/L.Compound 1 showed significant inhibitory activity against M231 with an IC_(50) value of(7.54±0.24)μmol/L compared with paclitaxel as the positive control.Compounds 2,3,and 7,9 showed obvious inhibitory activity against HCT-116 and were better than that of the positive control. Conclusion:The chemical constituents including a new sesquiterpene aryl ester armimelleolide C(1)from the EtOAc extract of A.gallica 012m have a variety of structures and potential antitumor activities. | Yanping Li Shuizhu Lou Run Yang Ling Zhang Qiuping Zou Shanzhai Shang Lu Gao Weiguang Wang | 2023 | Chinese Herbal Medicines2023,15,2: | 0 |
