| 1 | An Important Spreading Event of the Neo-Tethys Ocean during the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous: Evidence from Zircon U-Pb SHRIMP Dating on Diabase in Nagarze, Southern Tibet显示文摘Widely distributed in Gyangze-Chigu area, southern Tibet, NW- and nearly E-W-trending diabase(gabbro)-gabbro diorite dykes are regarded as the product of the large-scale spreading of the late Neo-Tethys Ocean. In order to constrain the emplacement age of these dykes, zircons of two samples from diabases in Nagarze were dated by using the U-Pb SHRIMP method. Two nearly the same weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages were obtained in this paper, which are 134.9±1.8 Ma (MSWD= 0.65) and 135.5±2.1 Ma (MSWD=1.40), respectively. They not only represent the crystallization age of the diabase, but also documented an important spreading event of the Neo-Tethys Ocean during the late Jurassic and early Cretaceous. | 2 | Hypoplastic constitutive modelling of the wetting induced creep of rockfill materials显示文摘Discrete element simulations of one-dimensional compression of breakable granular assemblies were performed to investigate the capability of the exponential compression equation suggested by Bauer.The relationship between the so-called solid hardness and the particle strength was studied so as to provide a physical background for the introduction of a time-dependent solid hardness.A hyperbolic flow rule,describing the relationship between the inclination of the strain path and the stress ratio during wetting,was proposed based on typical triaxial wetting experiments on two different rockfill materials.The flow rule was then extended and incorporated into the transformed stress based hypoplastic model to capture the direction of creep strains.Meanwhile,a new density factor was introduced to the extended model to take into account the dependence of the magnitude of creep strains on the packing density.The stiffness tensor given by the extended model was discussed and the flowchart for the integration of the constitutive equation was designed.The extended model was then embedded into a finite element program and used to simulate the triaxial compression and wetting experiments performed on the aforementioned rockfill materials.Good agreement between the model predictions and the measured results lends sufficient credibility to the extended model in reproducing the stress-stain behaviour under loading and the creep behaviour during wetting.The extended model and the finite element program were also used to investigate the deformation behaviour of an earth-rock dam at the end of construction and during first impounding.The familiar phenomena such as the wetting induced settlement of the upstream shell and the movement of the dam crest towards the upstream were successfully captured by the numerical model,which confirms the feasibility of applying the extended model to dam engineering in the future. | FU ZhongZhi CHEN ShengShui LIU SiHong | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,7: | 6 |
| 3 | The First Global Carbon Dioxide Flux Map Derived from TanSat Measurements显示文摘Space-borne measurements of atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations provide global observation constraints for top-down estimates of surface carbon flux.Here,the first estimates of the global distribution of carbon surface fluxes inferred from dry-air CO_2 column (XCO_2) measurements by the Chinese Global Carbon Dioxide Monitoring Scientific Experimental Satellite (Tan Sat) are presented.An ensemble transform Kalman filter (ETKF) data assimilation system coupled with the GEOS-Chem global chemistry transport model is used to optimally fit model simulations with the Tan Sat XCO_2 observations,which were retrieved using the Institute of Atmospheric Physics Carbon dioxide retrieval Algorithm for Satellite remote sensing (IAPCAS).High posterior error reduction (30%–50%) compared with a priori fluxes indicates that assimilating satellite XCO_2 measurements provides highly effective constraints on global carbon flux estimation.Their impacts are also highlighted by significant spatiotemporal shifts in flux patterns over regions critical to the global carbon budget,such as tropical South America and China.An integrated global land carbon net flux of 6.71±0.76 Gt C yr^(-1) over12 months (May 2017–April 2018) is estimated from the Tan Sat XCO_2 data,which is generally consistent with other inversions based on satellite data,such as the JAXA GOSAT and NASA OCO-2 XCO_2 retrievals.However,discrepancies were found in some regional flux estimates,particularly over the Southern Hemisphere,where there may still be uncorrected bias between satellite measurements due to the lack of independent reference observations.The results of this study provide the groundwork for further studies using current or future Tan Sat XCO_2 data together with other surfacebased and space-borne measurements to quantify biosphere–atmosphere carbon exchange. | Dongxu YANG Yi LIU Liang FENG Jing WANG Lu YAO Zhaonan CAI Sihong ZHU Naimeng LU Daren LYU | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,9: | 5 |

| 5 | Mantle Branch Structure in the South-Central Segment of the Da Hinggan Mts.,Inner Mongolia and Its Ore-controlling Role显示文摘Mantle branch structure is the third tectonic unit of multiple evolution of a mantle branch. It is not only the main mechanism of intercontinental orogeny, but also an important ore-forming and ore-control structure. Studies on geotectonic evolution, regional geological characteristics and ore-forming and ore-control structures have shown that since the Mesozoic the Da Hinggan Mts. region has entered a typical intercontinental orogenic stage, and it is closely related to mantle branch activities. The south-central segment of the Da Hinggan Mts. is a typical mantle branch structure and possesses obvious magmatic-metamorphic complexes in the core, detachment slip beds in the periphery and overlapped fault depression basins. Moreover, all of these are the principal factors leading to ore formation and ore control in the region. | 7 | The impact of sample processing on the rapid antigen detection test for SARS-CoV-2: Virus inactivation, VTM selection, and sample preservation显示文摘Many factors have been identified as having the ability to affect the sensitivity of rapid antigen detection(RAD)tests for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).This study aimed to identify the impact of sample processing on the sensitivity of the RAD tests.We explored the effect of different inactivation methods,viral transport media(VTM)solutions,and sample preservation on the sensitivity of four RAD kits based on two SARS-CoV-2 strains.Compared with non-inactivation,heat inactivation significantly impacted the sensitivity of most RAD kits;however,β-propiolactone inactivation only had a minor effect.Some of the VTM solutions(VTM2,MANTACC)had a significant influence on the sensitivity of the RAD kits,especially for low viral-loads samples.The detection value of RAD kits was slightly decreased,while most of them were still in the detection range with the extension of preservation time and the increase of freeze–thaw cycles.Our results showed that selecting the appropriate inactivation methods and VTM solutions is necessary during reagent development,performance evaluation,and clinical application。 | Haiwei Zhou Conghui Wang Jian Rao Lan Chen Tingting Ma Donglai Liu Lili Ren Sihong Xu | 2021 | Biosafety and Health2021,3,5: | 3 |

| 10 | Cracking in an expansive soil under freeze–thaw cycles显示文摘Expansive soils located in cold regions can easily endure the action of frost heaving and cyclic freezing–thawing. Cracking can also occur in expansive clayey soils under freeze–thaw cycles, of which little attention has been paid on this issue.In this study, laboratory experiment and cracking analysis were performed on an expansive soil. Crack patterns were quantitatively analyzed using the fractal concept. The relationships among crack pattern, water loss, number of freeze–thaw cycles, and fractal dimension were discussed. It was found that crack patterns on the surface exhibit a hierarchical network structure that is fractal at a statistical level. | 18 | Study on the Spatial Coupling between Expressway Networks and Tourist Attractions: A Case Study of Guizhou Province显示文摘Transportation is the most basic element in the development of tourism,with expressways being the main channel for tourism transportation in the era of driving tours.The relationship between transportation and tourism development has always been one of the hot topics in tourism geography study.Since the expressway service area is the main node of tourist service facilities in the expressway transportation network,we conducted a field research on 125 service areas and 177 tourist attractions in Guizhou Province,and obtained relevant data.By using the centrality measures for social network analysis,and combining the kernel density analysis with bivariate spatial autocorrelation analysis,this paper explores the centrality characteristics of expressway transportation network,the spatial distribution regularity of tourist attractions,and the spatial coupling between them.The main study conclusions are as follows:(1)The expressway service areas in Guizhou Province gradually decrease from a single core to the periphery.(2)The spatial distribution of tourist attractions presents a weak circular structure with multiple cores in a scattered manner,and the regional differences are apparent.(3)There is positive spatial correlation between the expressway networks and tourist attractions.The spatial coupling between the expressway transportation network and tourist attractions can be divided into four types of clusters:high–high cluster,high–low cluster,low–high cluster,and low–low cluster,with high–high and low–low clusters as the main types.The high–high cluster is the area with the best coupling effect and the most mature tourism.The high–low and low–high clusters have a mismatch between transportation and tourism resources.For such clusters,the spatial coupling can be realized by changing the functions of the service area or improving the quality of the tourist attraction.They have great development potential.The low–low cluster is far away from tourist attractions and markets,thus it has a small value of tourism development,and it is the critical area for future improvement.The conclusion of this study can provide a theoretical basis and scientific suggestions for promoting integrated and coordinated sustainable development of transportation and tourism. | CHEN Sihong XI Jianchao LIU Menghao | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Urban and Environmental Studies2020,8,1: | 1 |
