| 1 | Property and performance amelioration of pelagic clay from the East Pacific显示文摘To make use of the pelagic clay as polymer filling,the properties of clay sediments from the ocean investigation zone of China in the East Pacific were studied by the SSA,XRF,ICP/MAS,FTIR,XRD,SEM,DTA/TG and granularity distributing etc.,and experiments were settled to improve the whiteness and activation of the clay based on these data.Compared with land clay,pelagic clay holds many particular features,such as fine particles and incompact accumulation,worse crystallization and more defects,high activity,complex mineral and chemical components,and low whiteness etc.Processing the purified pelagic clay with acids and zinc,then baked it at different temperatures,the whiteness of clay can be increased from 23.8% to 73.1%,and the optimized conditions is:consistency of vitriol 25%,ratio of clay to water 4∶1,reaction time 4h,reaction temperature 90℃,dosage of zinc 2.0 g/L,and baking temperature 700℃.And the SSA of whited clay is increased too.Using the dry milling method to modify the pelagic clay with organic reagents,the optimized technique is KH550,concentration 1.5%,reaction time 20 min.XRD,FTIR and SEM testing indicate that the mechanism of organic activation was mainly surface absorbing and chemical combination secondly. | Peiping ZHANG Shufeng LIU Xuefa SHI Huahua LU Juanjuan LIU Xiaoguo CHI | 2008 | Global Geology2008,11,2: | 1 |

| 4 | A preliminary study on thermoluminescence characteristics of sediments from the North Pacific显示文摘Thirty-eight surficial deposit samples were collected from the equatorial North Pacific, and the natural thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics of both bulk and clay fraction samples (<2 μm fractions) were studied by the FJ427-A1 automatic TL Dosimeter for the first time. With the measurements of clay mineral composition, element composition by XRD and ICP, the correlations between TL intensity and sedimentary environment proxies were analyzed, such as water depth, ratio of FeO to Fe2O3 contents, LOI, and major clay mineral concentration, and it was found the bulk sample’s TL signal was stronger than the clay ones. Usually, increase in the clay components may result in the decrease of TL intensity. From the shape of TL curves, the pelagic sediments can be divided into two groups: the majority group has two glow peaks, in general, the first peak is broad and flat, but the second narrow and sharp; the minority group only has a single peak because the first is absent. The peak centers of TL curves are almost fixed, falling in the temperature sections 230~260 and 390~405 ℃ respectively. Lorentz model packed in the Origin 7.5 was chosen to deal with the TL curves. From the processing results, three parameters (H, C and A), corresponding to the height, center, and kurtosis of TL curve, were obtained to describe the curve characteristics. The correlations between TL curve parameters and sedimentary environment proxies were also calculated. | 7 | Modification of HDPE filling with pelagic clay显示文摘In order to improve the properties of HDPE, the authors used the method of suspended diffusion for purification the pelagic clay,used silane coupling agent to increase its organic activation, and prepared the composites of organic pelagic clay/HDPE by melting them in different conditions. The affections of process conditions and quantity of pelagic clay to the properties of composites were analyzed by testing their mechanical properties, thermo stability and barrier properties. According to test the structure of composites,it is indicated that pelagic clay has good compatibility with HDPE. | 8 | Discovery of a highly potent and orally available importin-β1 inhibitor that overcomes enzalutamide-resistance in advanced prostate cancer显示文摘Nuclear transporter importin-β1 is emerging as an attractive target by virtue of its prevalence in many cancers.However,the lack of druggable inhibitors restricts its therapeutic proof of concept.In the present work,we optimized a natural importin-β1 inhibitor DD1 to afford an improved analog DD1-Br with better tolerability(>25 folds)and oral bioavailability.DD1-Br inhibited the survival of castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)cells with sub-nanomolar potency and completely prevented tumor growth in resistant CRPC models both in monotherapy(0.5 mg/kg)and in enzalutamidecombination therapy.Mechanistic study revealed that by targeting importin-β1,DD1-Br markedly inhibited the nuclear accumulation of multiple CRPC drivers,particularly AR-V7,a main contributor to enzalutamide resistance,leading to the integral suppression of downstream oncogenic signaling.This study provides a promising lead for CRPC and demonstrates the potential of overcoming drug resistance in advanced CRPC via targeting importin-β1. | Jia-Luo Huang Xue-Long Yan Dong Huang Lu Gan Huahua Gao Run-Zhu Fan Shen Li Fang-Yu Yuan Xinying Zhu Gui-Hua Tang Hong-Wu Chen Junjian Wang Sheng Yin | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,12: | 0 |
