2Orthogonal arrays obtained by generalized difference matrices with g levels显示文摘Nowadays orthogonal arrays play important roles in statistics, computer science, coding theory and cryptography. The usual difference matrices are essential for the construction for many mixed orthogonal arrays. But there are also orthogonal arrays which cannot be obtained by the usual difference matrices, such as mixed orthogonal arrays of run size 60. In order to construct these mixed orthogonal arrays, a class of special so-called generalized difference matrices were discovered by Zhang (1989,1990,1993,2006) from the orthogonal decompositions of projection matrices. In this article, an interesting equivalent relationship between orthogonal arrays and the generalized difference matrices is presented and proved. 3Aerodynamic performance enhancement of a flying wing using nanosecond pulsed DBD plasma actuator显示文摘Experimental investigation of aerodynamic control on a 35 swept flying wing by means of nanosecond dielectric barrier discharge(NS-DBD) plasma was carried out at subsonic flow speed of 20–40 m/s, corresponding to Reynolds number of 3.1 · 105–6.2 · 105. In control condition, the plasma actuator was installed symmetrically on the leading edge of the wing. Lift coefficient, drag coefficient, lift-to-drag ratio and pitching moment coefficient were tested with and without control for a range of angles of attack. The tested results indicate that an increase of 14.5% in maximum lift coefficient, a decrease of 34.2% in drag coefficient, an increase of 22.4% in maximum lift-to-drag ratio and an increase of 2 at stall angle of attack could be achieved compared with the baseline case. The effects of pulsed frequency, amplitude and chord Reynolds number were also investigated.And the results revealed that control efficiency demonstrated strong dependence on pulsed frequency. 4Effect of total aluminum concentration on the formation and transformation of nanosized Al_(13) and Al_(30) in hydrolytic polymeric aluminum aqueous solutions显示文摘Influence of total aluminum concentration (CAlT) on the generation and transformation of nanosized Al13 and Al30 in hydrolytic polyaluminum aqueous solutions was in-vestigated using high field 27Al NMR and time-developed Al-Ferron complex colorimetry. When prepared at the opti-mal basicity (B) of Al13 generation and 80℃, the Al13 species in polyaluminum solution tends to further polymerize and convert to Al30 and higher polymers when CAlT >0.2 mol·L?1, but Al13 does not convert to Al30 quantificationally, as the formation of Alu from Al13 and Al30 is accelerated in the same way. The conversion rate of Al13 is accelerated by the in-crease in CAlT. When CAlT >0.75 mol·L?1, Al13 content de-creases rapidly, and Al30 content increases continuously and becomes the dominant nanometer polynuclear aluminum species. Alm is one of prerequisites of Al13 conversion to Al30. When CAlT increases and B reduces, the polymerization rate between Al13 and Alm increases, and at the same time, the dissociation reaction rate of Al13 and Al30 by H+ also increases. The latter becomes the dominant reaction in polyaluminum solution with low B value, so Al30 decreases with the increas-ing CAlT. 5Brain-derived neurotrophic factor induces neuron-like cellular differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells derived from human umbilical cord blood cells in vitro显示文摘Human umbilical cord blood was collected from full-term deliveries scheduled for cesarean section.Mononuclear cells were isolated,amplified and induced as mesenchymal stem cells.Isolated mesenchymal stem cells tested positive for the marker CD29,CD44 and CD105 and negative for typical hematopoietic and endothelial markers.Following treatment with neural induction medium containing brain-derived neurotrophic factor for 7 days,the adherent cells exhibited neuron-like cellular morphology.Immunohistochemical staining and reverse transcription-PCR revealed that the induced mesenchymal stem cells expressed the markers for neuron-specific enolase and neurofilament.The results demonstrated that human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into neuron-like cells induced by brain-derived neurotrophic factor in vitro.Lei Chen Zhongguo Zhang Bing Chen Xiaozhi Liu Zhenlin Liu Hongliang Liu Gang Li Zhiguo Su Junfei Wang Guozhen Hui 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,13:8

8Retrieval of leaf biochemical properties by inversed PROSPECT model and hyperspectral indices:an application to Populus euphratica polymorphic leaves显示文摘Leaf biochemical properties have been widely assessed using hyperspectral reflectance information by inversion of PROSPECT model or by using hyperspectral indices,but few studies have focused on arid ecosystems.As a dominant species of riparian ecosystems in arid lands,Populus euphratica Oliv.is an unusual tree species with polymorphic leaves along the vertical profile of canopy corresponding to different growth stages.In this study,we evaluated both the inversed PROSPECT model and hyperspectral indices for estimating biochemical properties of P.euphratica leaves.Both the shapes and biochemical properties of P.euphratica leaves were found to change with the heights from ground surface.The results indicated that the model inversion calibrated for each leaf shape performed much better than the model calibrated for all leaf shapes,and also better than hyperspectral indices.Similar results were obtained for estimations of equivalent water thickness (EWT) and leaf mass per area (LMA).Hyperspectral indices identified in this study for estimating these leaf properties had root mean square error (RMSE) and R 2 values between those obtained with the two calibration strategies using the inversed PROSPECT model.Hence,the inversed PROSPECT model can be applied to estimate leaf biochemical properties in arid ecosystems,but the calibration to the model requires special attention.ZhongGuo MA Xi CHEN Quan WANG PingHeng LI Guli Jiapaer 2012Journal of Arid Land2012,4,1:4
9Hydrolysis of polyaluminum chloride prior to coagulation:Effects on coagulation behavior and implications for improving coagulation performance显示文摘The effects of polyaluminum chloride(PACl) hydrolysis prior to coagulation on both the coagulation zone and coagulation performance of a kaolin suspension were investigated by a novel jar test named the 'reversed coagulation test'.The tests showed that PACl hydrolysis prior to coagulation decreased the performance of charge neutralization coagulation in the case of short-time slow mixing(10 min;G = 15 sec-1) and increased the optimal dosage for charge neutralization and sweep coagulation.Moreover,the hydrolysis time had insignificant effects on the size and zeta potential of PACl precipitates and the residual turbidity of the raw water.However,PACl hydrolysis prior to coagulation and the size of PACl precipitates had a negligible effect on the performance of sweep coagulation.The results imply that,in practice,preparing a PACl solution with deionized water,rather than tap water or the outlet water from a wastewater treatment unit,can significantly save PACl consumption and improve the performance of charge neutralization coagulation,while preparing the PACl solution with tap or outlet water would not affect the performance of sweep coagulation.In addition,the optimal rapid mixing intensity appears to be determined by a balance between the degree of coagulant hydrolysis before contacting the primary particles and the average size of flocs in the rapid mixing period.These results provide new insights into the role of PACl hydrolysis and will be useful for improving coagulation efficiency.Zhongguo Zhang Jun Wang Dan Liu Jiuyi Li Xiaolin Wang Boyu Song Bing Yue Kehui Zhao Yun Song 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7:4
10Simplified full-depth precast concrete deck panel systems for accelerated bridge construction显示文摘A simplified full-depth precast concrete deck panel system for accelerating bridge construction(ABC) is introduced and a finite element analysis(FEA) is conducted to investigate the static and dynamic responses of this conceptual deck system. The FEA results are compared to those of the traditional full-depth precast concrete deck panel system. The comparison results show that the mechanical behavior of the new deck system is different from that of the traditional deck system. The concrete decks in the new system act as two-way slabs, instead of the one-way slab in the traditional system. Meanwhile, the connections in both the longitudinal and transverse directions may need to accommodate the negative moments.Compared to those in the traditional system, the longitudinal nominal stress at middle span increases a lot in the new deck system and the effective flange width varies significantly. 11Drinking water treatment using a submerged internal-circulation membrane coagulation reactor coupled with permanganate oxidation显示文摘A submerged internal circulating membrane coagulation reactor(MCR) was used to treat surface water to produce drinking water. Polyaluminum chloride(PACl) was used as coagulant,and a hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) submerged hollow fiber microfiltration membrane was employed. The influences of trans-membrane pressure(TMP), zeta potential(ZP) of the suspended particles in raw water, and KMnO_4 dosing on water flux and the removal of turbidity and organic matter were systematically investigated. Continuous bench-scale experiments showed that the permeate quality of the MCR satisfied the requirement for a centralized water supply, according to the Standards for Drinking Water Quality of China(GB 5749-2006), as evaluated by turbidity(<1 NTU) and total organic carbon(TOC)(<5 mg/L)measurements. Besides water flux, the removal of turbidity, TOC and dissolved organic carbon(DOC) in the raw water also increased with increasing TMP in the range of 0.01–0.05 MPa. High ZP induced by PACl, such as 5–9 mV, led to an increase in the number of fine and total particles in the MCR, and consequently caused serious membrane fouling and high permeate turbidity.However, the removal of TOC and DOC increased with increasing ZP. A slightly positive ZP, such as 1–2 mV, corresponding to charge neutralization coagulation, was favorable for membrane fouling control. Moreover, dosing with KMnO_4 could further improve the removal of turbidity and DOC, thereby mitigating membrane fouling. 12Investigation of calcium phosphate (CaP) tribofilms from commercial automatic transmission fluids (ATFs) and their correlation with antishudder performance显示文摘The friction properties of wet clutches are highly dependent on the surface tribofilms formed by automatic transmission fluids (ATFs). Here, four commercial ATFs were evaluated with a disc-on-disc tribometer to study tribofilm formation on steel surfaces and the effects of tribofilms on the friction properties. The chemical composition, stoichiometry, structure, and thickness of the tribofilms were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Calcium phosphate (CaP) tribofilms form on the friction surface with all ATFs, which contributes to their antishudder characteristics. 17Encryption/decryption and microtarget capturing by pH-driven Janus microstructures fabricated by the same femtosecond laser printing parameters显示文摘Several natural organism can change shape under external stimuli. These natural phenomena have inspired a vast amount of research on exploration and implementation of reconfigurable shape transformation. The Janus structure is a promising approach to achieve shape transformation based on its heterogeneous chemical or physical properties on opposite sides.However, the heterogeneity is generally realized by multi-step processing, different materials,and/or different processing parameters. Here, we present a simple and flexible method of producing p H-sensitive Janus microactuators from a single material, using the same laser printing parameters. These microactuators exhibit reversible structural deformations with large bending angles of ~31°and fast response(~0.2 s) by changing the p H value of the aqueous environment. Benefited from the high flexibility of the laser printing technique and the spatial arrangements, pillar heights, and bending directions of microactuators are readily controlled,enabling a variety of switchable ordered patterns and complex petal-like structures on flat surfaces and inside microchannels.
