| 1 | N^6-Methyladenosine modification: a novel pharmacological target for anti-cancer drug development显示文摘N6-Methyladenosine(m6 A) modification is the most pervasive modification of human mRNA molecules. It is reversible via regulation of m6 A modification methyltransferase, demethylase and proteins that preferentially recognize m6 A modification as 'writers', 'erasers' and 'readers', respectively. Altered expression levels of the m6 A modification key regulators substantially affect their function, leading to significant phenotype changes in the cell and organism. Recent studies have proved that the m6 A modification plays significant roles in regulation of metabolism, stem cell self-renewal, and metastasis in a variety of human cancers. In this review, we describe the potential roles of m6 A modification in human cancers and summarize their underlying molecular mechanisms. | 2 | Incorporating Equity Concerns into Transportation Planning and Policies in Urban China: The Status Quo of Practice and Implications显示文摘Transportation equity is one of the most recent concerns toward sustainable urban development, which aims to help municipalities or local planning authorities incorporate equity issues into transportation planning and policies, avoiding multifaceted potential inequity outcomes. As for the urbanizing China, do the mainstream planning approaches fail to take equity issues into account? What are outcomes and the potential countermeasures based on Chinese cities' spatial and policy contexts? From the perspective of transportation equity, this article aims to examine the multidimensional effects related to equity concerns of urban transportation planning and policies in China. It suggests that the municipal government should enhance the service level of public transit and efficiently address the inequity issues of transportation systems. | 3 | From Prosperity to Disappearance:Social and Spatial Transformation of Shuangqiao Village in the City of Ningbo,China显示文摘In the process of gradual transitioning from a planned economy to a market economy, villages in China have experienced dramatic social and spatial transformation. However, among the abundant literature of the formation and regeneration strategies of urban villages, few of them are on the complete life cycle of an urban village. In order to provide a case for better understanding the social and spatial transformation in China's urban villages, with the help of fieldwork and government statistics, this paper examines the social and spatial dynamics of the Shuangqiao Village in China's Ningbo City. The study includes its prosperity, resulting from studentification, and its disappearance, stemming from urban regeneration, both from a perspective of a complete life cycle analysis. | 5 | Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Surface Tidal Currents in the Southwest of Taiwan Strait显示文摘This study was conducted on the spatial distribution characteristics of surface tidal currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait based on the quasi-harmonic analysis of current data obtained by two high frequency surface wave radar(HFSWR) systems. The analysis shows that the tidal current pattern in the southwestern Taiwan Strait is primarily semi-diurnal and influenced significantly by shallow water constituents. The spatial distribution of tidal current ellipses of M2 is probably affected by the interaction between two different systems of tide wave, one from the northern mouth of Taiwan Strait and the other from the Bashi Channel. The directions of the major axes of M2 tidal current ellipses coincide roughly with the axis of the Taiwan Strait. The spatial distribution of the magnitudes of the probable maximum current velocity(PMCS) shows gradual increase of the velocity from northeast to southwest, which is in accordance with the spatial distribution of the measured maximum current velocity(MMCS). The directions of the residual currents are in accordance with the direction of the prevailing monsoon wind at the Taiwan Strait and the direction of the Taiwan warm current during summer.
