1Transplantation of neurotrophin-3-transfected bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells for the repair of spinal cord injury显示文摘Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation has been shown to be therapeutic in the repair of spinal cord injury. However, the low survival rate of transplanted bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in vivo remains a problem. Neurotrophin-3 promotes motor neuron survival and it is hypothesized that its transfection can enhance the therapeutic effect. We show that in vitro transfection of neurotrophin-3 gene increases the number of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the region of spinal cord injury. 2CFD Study of NO_x Emissions in a Model Commercial Aircraft Engine Combustor显示文摘Air worthiness requirements of the aircraft engine emission bring new challenges to the combustor research and design. With the motivation to design high performance and clean combustor, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is utilized as the powerful design approach. In this paper, Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations of reactive two-phase flow in an experimental low emission combustor is performed. The numerical approach uses an implicit compressible gas solver together with a Lagrangian liquid-phase tracking method and the extended coherent flamelet model for turbulence-combustion interaction. The NOx formation is modeled by the concept of post-processing, which resolves the NOx transport equation with the assumption of frozen temperature distribution. Both turbulence-combustion interaction model and NOx formation model are firstly evaluated by the comparison of experimental data published in open literature of a lean direct injection (LDI) combustor. The test rig studied in this paper is called low emission stirred swirl (LESS) combustor, which is a two-stage model combustor, fueled with liquid kerosene (RP-3) and designed by Beihang University (BUAA). The main stage of LESS combustor employs the principle of lean prevaporized and premixed (LPP) concept to reduce pollutant, and the pilot stage depends on a diffusion flame for flame stabili-zation. Detailed numerical results including species distribution, turbulence performance and burning performance are qualita-tively and quantitatively evaluated. Numerical prediction of NOx emission shows a good agreement with test data at both idle condition and full power condition of LESS combustor. Preliminary results of the flame structure are shown in this paper. 3Experimental and numerical studies of a lean-burn internally-staged combustor显示文摘A lean-burn internally-staged combustor for low emissions that can be used in civil aviation gas turbines is introduced in this paper. The main stage is designed and optimized in terms of fuel evaporation ratio, fuel/air pre-mixture uniformity, and particle residence time using commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD) software. A single-module rectangular combustor is adopted in performance tests including lean ignition, lean blowout, combustion efficiency, emissions, and combustion oscillation using aviation kerosene. Furthermore, nitrogen oxides(NOx)emission is also predicted using CFD simulation to compare with test results. Under normal inlet temperature, this combustor can be ignited easily with normal and negative inlet pressures. The lean blowout fuel/air ratio(LBO FAR) at the idle condition is 0.0049. The fuel split proportions between the pilot and main stages are determined through balancing emissions, combustion efficiency, and combustion oscillation. Within the landing and take-off(LTO) cycle, this combustor enables 42%NOxreduction of the standard set by the 6th Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection(CAEP/6) with high combustion efficiency. 4Detection and characterization of diverse alpha-and betacoronaviruses from bats in China显示文摘Bats have been implicated as important reservoir hosts of alpha- and betacoronaviruses. In this study, diverse coronaviruses(CoVs) were detected in 50 of 951(positive rate 5.3%) intestinal specimens of eight bat species collected in four provinces and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China by pan-coronavirus RT-PCR screening. Based on 400-nt RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(Rd RP) sequence analysis, eight belonged to genus Alphacoronavirus and 42 to Betacoronavirus.Among the 50 positive specimens, thirteen gave rise to CoV full-length Rd RP gene amplification for further sequence comparison, of which three divergent sequences(two from a unreported province) were subjected to full genome sequencing. Two complete genomes of betacoronaviruses(JTMC15 and JPDB144) and one nearly-complete genome of alphacoronavirus(JTAC2) were sequenced and their genomic organization predicted. The present study has identified additional numbers of genetically diverse bat-borne coronaviruses with a wide distribution in China. 5Precessing motion in stratified radial swirl flow显示文摘Vortex/flame interaction is an important mechanism for unsteady combustion in a swirl combustion system. Technology of low emission stirred swirl(Te LESS), which is characterized with stratified swirl flow, has been developed in Beihang University to reduce NOXemission. However,large-scale flow structure would be induced in strong swirl flow. Experiments and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation were carried out to investigate the unsteady flow feature and its mechanism in Te LESS combustor. Hotwire was firstly applied to testing the unsteady flow feature and a distinct mode with 2244 Hz oscillation frequency occurred at the pilot swirl outlet.The flow mode amplitude decayed convectively. Large eddy simulation(LES) was then applied to predicting this flow mode and know about its mechanism. The deviation of mode prediction compared with hotwire test was 0.8%. The spiral isobaric structure in pilot flow passage indicates that precessing vortex core(PVC) existed. The velocity spectrum and phase lag analysis suggest that the periodic movement at the pilot outlet was dominated by precessing movement. Negative tangential momentum gradient reflects that the swirl flow was unstable. 7Effect of Swirl Cup's Secondary Swirler on Flow Field and Ignition Performance显示文摘In a gas turbine engine combustor, highly swirling combustion is usually adopted to stabilize flame and reduce pollutant emissions. Swirl cup, as an air blast atomizer, is widely used to provide a uniform presentation of fuel droplets to the combustor dome. This paper investigated the effect of secondary swirler on the flow field downstream of the swirl cup using particle image velocimetry(PIV). Three swirl cups' non-reacting flow field were studied: case A, B and C with secondary swirler vane angle 53°, 60°and 68° respectively. Detailed mean and transient velocities and vorticity in the center plane were obtained. From the PIV results, a sharp contrast flow field was obtained for case A to other two cases due to the lower secondary swirling intensity. The recirculation zone is collapsed in disorder for the case A. Ignition tests of the three cups were completed in a single cup combustor. In general, the ignition performance increases with the increasing of the secondary swirling intensity. For case A, the ignition performance is very unstable and has much randomness and there is no clear lean ignition boundary can be generated. 8Experimental Investigations of the Flow Field Structure and Interactions between Sectors of a Double-Swirl Low-Emission Combustor:Effects of Main Stage Swirl Intensity and Venturi Angle显示文摘Effect of venturi angle and main stage swirl intensity on flow field and interactions were investigated using PIV.The results showed the difference between the side sector and the middle sector was caused by interactions.The interactions were stronger with the rise of the main stage swirl intensity.When the swirl intensity was 0.7 and 0.9,there was little difference of the width of the recirculation zone.But the flow field had a great difference when the swirl intensity was 0.5 and 0.7,which means that when the swirl intensity was small,the swirl intensity had a great influence on the flow field.Venturi angle had a great influence on the flow field structure and interactions when the venturi angle was big,such as 90°.The venturi angle just had a small influence on the width of the recirculation zone when the venturi angle was relatively small,such as 28°and 52°.The velocity of the center plane between two sectors(plane 3)was small.There was a recirculation zone at upstream of the center plane between two sectors(plane 3)when the swirl intensity was 0.7 and 0.9,whereas not one when the swirl intensity was 0.5.The above was induced by interactions.In addition,the velocity of plane 1,plane 3,and plane 5 when the venturi angle was 52°was smaller than that of 28°and 90°.FAN Xiongjie XU Gang LIU Cunxi ZHANG Chi WANG Jianchen LIN Yuzhen 2020Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,3:3
9Improvements on physical conditions of bauxite residue following application of organic materials显示文摘Soil formation and ecological rehabilitation is the most promising strategy to eliminate environmental risks of bauxite residue disposal areas. Its poor physical structure is nevertheless a major limitation to plant growth. Organic materials were demonstrated as effective ameliorants to improve the physical conditions of bauxite residue. In this study, three different organic materials including straw(5% W/W), humic acid(5% W/W), and humic acidacrylamide polymer(0.2% and 0.4%, W/W) were selected to evaluate their effects on physical conditions of bauxite residue pretreated by phosphogypsum following a 120-day incubation experiment. The proportion of 2-1 mm macro-aggregates, mean weight diameter(MWD) and geometric mean diameter(GWD) increased following organic materials addition, which indicated that organic materials could enhance aggregate stability. Compared with straw, and humic acid, humic acid-acrylamide polymer application had improved effects on the formation of water-stable aggregates in the residues. Furthermore, organic materials increased the total porosity, total pore volume and average pore diameter, and reduced the micropore content according to nitrogen gas adsorption(NA) and mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP)analysis, whilst enhancing water retention of the residues based on water characteristic curves. Compared with traditional organic wastes, humic acid-acrylamide polymer could be regarded as a candidate according to the comprehensive consideration of the additive amount and the effects on physical conditions of bauxite residue. 10Chlorination pattern effect on thermodynamic parameters and environmental degradability for C_(10)-SCCPs: Quantum chemical calculation based on virtual combinational library显示文摘Short-chain chlorinated paraffins(SCCPs) are still controversial candidates for inclusion in the Stockholm Convention.The inherent mixture nature of SCCPs makes it rather difficult to explore their environmental behaviors.A virtual molecule library of 42,720 C_(10)-SCCP congeners covering the full structure spectrum was constructed.We explored the structural effects on the thermodynamic parameters and environmental degradability of C_(10)-SCCPs through semi-empirical quantum chemical calculations.The thermodynamic properties were acquired using the AM1 method,and frontier molecular orbital analysis was carried out to obtain the E_(HOMO),E_(LUMO) and E_(LUMO)-E_(HOMO) for degradability exploration at the same level.The influence of the chlorination degree(N_(Cl) on the relative stability and environmental degradation was elucidated.A novel structural descriptor,μ,was proposed to measure the dispersion of the chlorine atoms within a molecule.There were significant correlations between thermodynamic values and N_(Cl),while the reported N_(Cl)-dependent pollution profile of C_(10)-SCCPs in environmental samples was basically consistent with the predicted order of formation stability of C_(10)-SCCP congeners.In addition,isomers with largeμ showed higher relative stability than those with small μ.This could be further verified by the relationship between μ and the reactivity of nucleophilic substitution and · OH attack respectively.The C_(10)-SCCP congeners with less Cl substitution and lower dispersion degree are susceptible to environmental degradation via nucleophilic substitution and hydroxyl radical attack,while direct photolysis of C_(10)-SCCP congeners cannot readily occur due to the large E_(LUMO)-E_(HOMO) values.The chlorination effect and the conclusions were further checked with appropriate density functional theory(DFT) calculations.Yuzhen Sun Wenxiao Pan Yuan Lin Jianjie Fu Aiqian Zhang 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,1:2
11奥曲肽持续皮下泵入治疗恶性肠梗阻的临床观察(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of the study was to observe the effectiveness of continuously subcutaneous-pumped octreotide infusion in palliative treatment of malignant bowel obstruction (MBO).Methods: Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in 26 carcinoma patients complicated with MBO,in the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,China,from March 2007 to April 2009.All 26 carcinoma patients with MBO were divided into two groups: the controlling group (CG,routine therapy,15 patients) and the octreotide group (OG,11 patients).The octreotide group received routine therapy combined with octreotide (0.3 mg/d) by 24 hours continuously subcutaneous octreotide infusion.The changes of curative effectiveness related to symptoms,the times of recovering exsufflation and defecation,the average drain of gastrointestinal drainage tube,the duration of gastrointestinal drainage tube and the rate of extubation,were observed and compared between the two groups.Results: After treatment,remarkable changing rates of MBO related symptoms were 81.8% (9/11) in OG,and 46.7% (7/15) in CG (P < 0.05).The 78% of SG and 30% of CG recovered the exsufflation and defecation,and the mean times they needed were 3.2 d and 5.8 d,respectively (P < 0.05).The durations of gastrointestinal drainage tube of OG and CG were (5 ± 1.2) d and (10 ± 2.3) d,respectively,and the rates of extubation were 54.5% and 20%,respectively.The improvement rate in the octreotide group was better than that in the controlling group and the difference was significant (72.7% and 26.7%,P < 0.05).Conclusion: The administration of octreotide in combination with routine treatment can be very effective in the treatment of MBO.It can relieve the symptoms of MBO effectively and improve the quality of life of the end-stage patients.It has provided one kind of new treating thought and method for treatment of malignant bowel obstruction.Dongfeng Yin Yin Zhu Yuqing Xing Hong Gao Yuzhen Pan Lin Pan Guangyi Tang Xiangrong Xing Lijiang Zhou 2011The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2011,10,1:2
12Experimental Investigations of the Flow Field Structure and Interactions between Sectors of a Double-Swirl Low-Emission Combustor显示文摘In this paper,the flow field characteristics of a double-swirl low-emission combustor were analyzed by using Particle Imaging Velocimetry(PIV)technology in an optical three-sector combustor test rig.The interactions between sectors and the flow field structure were explained.The results illustrated that there was a big difference between the flow field structures of the middle sector and the side sector under the same pressure drop,which was mainly induced by the interactions between sectors.The interactions made the swirl intensity of the middle sector weaker than that of the side sector,which made the recirculation zone of the middle sector be smaller than that of the side sector.With the increase of swirler pressure drop,the jet velocity at the exit of the swirler,the jet expansion angle,the width of the recirculation zone and the recirculating speed of the central axis became larger,enhancing the interactions between air streams from middle sector and side sector.The flow velocity in the central plane between sectors was small,especially the radial velocity,mainly because of the loss of the swirl intensity by the interactions between flow field of adjacent sectors.The expansion angle determined the position of the vortex in the primary recirculation zone;the axial and radial position of the vortex move downstream and radial outward with the increase of the jet expansion angle.The results of the mechanism of flow field organization in this study can be used to support the design of new low-emission combustor.FAN Xiongjie XU Gang LIU Cunxi WANG Jianchen LIN Yuzhen ZHANG Chi 2020Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,1:2
13A Simplified Numerical Approach for the Prediction of Rainfall-Induced Retrogressive Landslides显示文摘Retrogressive landslides are common geological phenomena in mountainous areas and on onshore and offshore slopes. The impact of retrogressive landslides is different from that of other landslide types due to the phenomenon of retrogression. The hazards caused by retrogressive landslides may be increased because retrogressive landslides usually affect housing, facilities, and infrastructure located far from the original slopes. Additionally, substantial geomorphic evidence shows that the abundant supply of loose sediment in the source area of a debris flow is usually provided by retrogressive landslides that are triggered by the undercutting of water. Moreover, according to historic case studies, some large landslides are the evolution result of retrogressive landslides. Hence the ability to understand and predict the evolution of retrogressive landslides is crucial for the purpose of hazard mitigation. This paper discusses the phenomenon of a retrogressive landslide by using a model experiment and suggests a reasonably simplified numerical approach for the prediction of rainfall-induced retrogressive landslides. The simplified numerical approach, which combines the finite element method for seepage analysis, the shear strength reduction finite element method, and the analysis criterion for the retrogression and accumulation effect, is presented and used to predict the characteristics of a retrogressive landslide. The results show that this numerical approach is capable of reasonably predicting the characteristics of retrogressive landslides under rainfall infiltration, particularly the magnitude of each landslide, the position of the slip surface, and the development processes of the retrogressive landslide. 14Extracellular-superoxide dismutase DNA methylation promotes oxidative stress in homocysteine-induced atherosclerosis显示文摘In the present study,we investigate the effect of homocysteine(Hcy)on extracellular-superoxide dismutase(ECSOD)DNA methylation in the aorta of mice,and explore the underlying mechanism in macrophages,trying to identify the key targets of Hcy-induced EC-SOD methylation changes.ApoE--mice are fed different diets for 15 weeks,EC-SODand DNAmethyltransferase1(DNMT1)expression levels aredetected byRT-PCRandwestern blot analysis.EC-SOD methylation levels are assessed by ntMS-PCR.After EC-SOD overexpression or knockdown in macrophages,following the transfection of macrophages with pEGFP-N1-DNMT1,the methylation levels of ECSOD are detected.Our data show that the concentrations of Hcy and the area of atherogenic lesions are significantly increased in ApoE--mice fed with a high-methionine diet,and have a positive correlation with the levels of superoxide anions,which indicates that Hcy-activated superoxide anions enhance the development of atherogenic lesions.EC-SOD expression is suppressed by Hcy,and the content of superoxide anion is increased when EC-SOD is silenced by RNAi in macrophages,suggesting that EC-SOD plays a major part in oxidative stress induced by Hcy.Furthermore,the promoter activity of EC-SOD is increased following transfection with the-1/-110o fragment,and EC-SOD methylation level is significantly suppressed by Hcy,and more significantly decreased upon DNMT1 overexpression.In conclusion,Hcy may alter the DNA methylation status and DNMT1 acts as the essential enzyme in the methyl transfer process to disturb the status of EC-SOD DNA methylation,leading to decreased expression of Ec-sODandincreasedoxidativestressandatherosclerosis.Shengchao Ma Guanjun Lu Qing Zhang Ning Ding Yuzhen Jie Hui Zhang Lingbo Xu Lin Xie Xiaoling Yang Huiping Zhang Yideng Jiang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,9:1

16Pathological,Ultrastructural and Immunohistochemical Observations of Adenoma of Retinal Pigment Epithelium显示文摘Purpose: To Study the clinical, pathological, ultrastructural and immunohistchemicalcharacters of adenoma of the retinal pigment epithelium in order to offer evidence todiagnose this tumor.Methods: Routine paraffin slices HE stain, histochemistry PAS and VG stain,transmission electron microscopy, and immunohistochemistry for S-100 and vimentinwith LSAB method were used.Results: The tumor cells were oval and cuboidal in shape. Part of the tumor had atubular arrangement. Around the sheets of tumors cells there was a large amount ofuniform red stick-like substances. The above matter represented positive in PAS stain.Most of the above matter was yellow, while less of the matter showed red in VG stain.Transmission electron microscopy showed that there were tight junctions between tumorcells. 17Dynamics of stratified swirl flame near lean blow out显示文摘This paper studies the flame dynamics near lean blowout(LBO)conditions in a stratified swirl burner.The novel BASIS burner is used and fueled with premixed methane/air mixture at atmospheric conditions.In the experiments,only the pilot flame works with four different equivalent ratios.It is found that as the flame changes from stable combustion to near LBO,the flame macrostructure changes from V-shape to M-shape.Meanwhile,a characteristic frequency of 405 Hz is found in the spectrum of heat release signal.The closer to LBO,the higher amplitude is found at the frequency peak.Post-processing of flame images illustrates that the 405 Hz comes from the circumferential movement of the flame.Large-eddy simulations(LESs)via OpenFOAM reproduce the flame dynamics near LBO,which agrees with the experimental results.LESs provide more insights into the flow fields,showing that the characteristic frequency of 405 Hz comes from the flame-vortex interaction.This study reveals the mechanism of flame and vortex interactions in a stratified swirl burner near LBO.The heat release signal is also found can be used as a candidate precursor for LBO.Meng Han Quanhong Xu Xiao Han Yuzhen Lin 2021Propulsion and Power Research2021,10,3:1

19Single-crystal star-like zinc oxide: synthesis, characterization and growth mechanism显示文摘A novel star-like single-crystal ZnO structure was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method. The as-prepared products were characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM. The star-like ZnO, which shows sixfold symmetry, was constructed by six uniform arms distributing symmetrically around the [0001] zone axis. It is also found that the arms are not perpendicular to the [0001] zone axis and each arm is grown at a certain angle with the [0001] direction. CBED pattern and corresponding simulation demonstrate that the convex part of the star-like ZnO is O-terminated (000-1) plane and the concave part is Zn-terminated (0001) plane. H2S plays a crucial role in the synthesis process. 20Viscoelastic Characteristics of Asphalt Binders at Softening Point Temperature显示文摘In this paper, in order to investigate the viscoelasticity of asphalt binder at the softening point temperature, more than 30 different asphalt binders were selected and tested by dynamic rheological scan method using a dynamic shear rheometer(DSR). The softening points and the rheological parameters of the asphalt samples were measured and analyzed. The results indicated that at the softening point temperature the neat asphalt and the SBS modified asphalt showed two different rheological states. The neat asphalt binders had a majority of viscous components in viscoelastic composition, with the phase angles being mostly higher than 80 o. The SBS modified binders had lower phase angles, with their elasticity still retained. Meanwhile, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that at a confidence level of 0.05, at whatever aging state, the neat asphalt had a stable complex modulus corresponding to the softening point, which was 13.034 kPa at a standard deviation of 2.105 kPa under the same test condition. The softening point of neat asphalt binder can be calculated via the equivalent modulus rule. It is found out that there is a good relationship between the calculated and the measured softening points.
