1A simple way to make pre-stressed ceramics with high strength显示文摘A pre-stressing design and a simple fabrication technology to substantially improve the strength of ceramic components are presented.Residual surface compressive stress is generated in ceramic components by pressureless sintering of a green bulk coated with a thin layer of low coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE).The stress level can be controlled by changing the cross-section area ratio,Young's modulus ratio and CTE ratio of the coating.Pre-stressed ZrO_(2) ceramics coated with Al_(2)O_(3) can achieve a flexural strength of 1330±52MPa,45% higher than their uncoated counterpart.Similarly,the flexural strength of building porcelain tiles is increased by 70%,from 67±3 MPa to 114±5MPa.The damage tolerance of pre-stressed ZrO_(2) ceramics is excellent with a high residual strength of ~1200 MPa in a thermal shock test at 325℃.This simple technique can improve the mechanical performance of ceramic components with no limitation of size and shape.Yiwang Bao Fenghua Kuang Yi Sun Yueming Li Detian Wan Zongyang Shen Delong Ma Lingfeng He 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4:7

3Determination of trophic levels of marine fish in the Yellow Sea and northern East China Sea using nitrogen stable isotope (δ^(15)N) analysis of otoliths显示文摘Fish otolithδ^(15) N(δ^(15) N_(oto))is a demonstrated source of information of dietary history for marine fi sh as it is available iN_(oto)lith archives and sedimentary deposits unlike white muscle tissue(WMT).WMT and stomach content data are insufficient for trophic level(TL)data of past fi shes which is important for the changes of marine fi shery resources over long time scales.To determine the correlation betweenδ^(15) N_(oto) and fi sh WMTδ^(15) N(δ^(15) N_(wmt))and the feasibility of usingδ^(15) N_(oto) in characterizing the TLs of marine fi shes,we conducted nitrogen stable isotope analysis(SIA)in the otolith and WMT of 36 marine fi sh species sampled from the Yellow Sea and northern East China Sea in 2011-2014.Bothδ^(15) N_(oto) andδ^(15) N_(wmt) were analyzed using an elemental analyzer coupled with an isotope ratio mass spectrometer(EA-IRMS).Multiple otoliths were combined to make each otolith measurement and were analyzed as-is without a carbonate dissolution pre-processing step.δ^(15) N_(oto) andδ^(15) N_(wmt) comparisons for species in the Yellow Sea and northern East China Sea are currently lacking and would be helpful for both regional studies and for increasing the number of species for whichδ^(15) N_(oto) andδ^(15) N_(wmt) have been compared.Additionally,to determine the relative accuracy of trophic level calculated usingδ^(15) N_(oto),we compared TL calculated fromδ^(15) N_(oto) to traditional trophic level metrics calculated usingδ^(15) N_(wmt).The results showed a positive and highly signifi cant correlation(R=0.780,P<0.001)betweenδ^(15) N_(oto) andδ^(15) N_(wmt).Trophic level estimation using WMT(TL wmt)and otolith(TL oto)showed congruence in our study,which is not entirely surprising given thatδ^(15) N_(oto) was regressed againstδ^(15) N_(wmt) and the resulting regression coefficient was used to convertδ^(15) N_(oto) toδ^(15) N_(wmt) prior to calculating TL oto.This conversion was required in order to be consistent with previousδ^(15) N_(wmt)-based calculations of TL for comparison.TL oto calculations resulted in TL values that were largely within 5%-10%of TL values calculated withδ^(15) N_(wmt).Our fi ndings show thatδ^(15) N_(oto) is a feasible technique for characterizing the TLs of marine fi sh and can also assist in food web and marine ecosystem studies.Huaiyu BAI Yukun WANG Tingting ZHANG Fangqun DAI Lingfeng HUANG Yao SUN 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,2:1

6Contribution of Water Vapor to the Record-Breaking Extreme Meiyu Rainfall along the Yangtze River Valley in 2020显示文摘A record-breaking extreme Meiyu rainfall occurred along the Yangtze River valley(YRV)in 2020 since 1961,persisting from 11 June to 31 July with the largest amount and the highest intensity.From the aspect of water vapor,the causes of its formation are revealed in this study.The 2020 Meiyu rainfall amount is directly attributed to the greatly enhanced vertically integrated water vapor transport(IVT)convergence,which is in turn primarily determined by the mean circulation dynamic(MCD)contribution associated with anomalous East Asian summer monsoon(EASM)and the thermodynamic component(TH)contribution due to water vapor anomaly.The MCD contribution is mainly responsible for the extreme Meiyu rainfall amount and abundant water vapor convergence in the YRV,whereas the TH contribution tends to shift Meiyu rain belt northward to the Yangtze-Huaihe River valley,extending the Meiyu rainfall coverage area.Furthermore,the excessive moist static energy(MSE)associated with the largest water vapor anomaly could substantially increase the atmospheric instability,favoring the extreme 2020 Meiyu rainfall intensity.In terms of the tremendous IVT to the YRV from both the South China Sea and Bay of Bengal during the 2020 Meiyu period,the low-level anticyclone anomalies over the western North Pacific(WNP)and Bay of Bengal provide appropriate atmospheric circulation conditions,and they are generated by the super suppressed WNP convective activities as a Matsuno-Gill type response,which are further attributed to the combined warm SST anomalies in both the tropical western Indian Ocean(TWIO)and tropical Atlantic Ocean(TAO)eventually.Licheng WANG Xuguang SUN Xiuqun YANG Lingfeng TAO Zhiqi ZHANG 2021Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,4:1
7Tensile and Fracture Behavior of DZ68 Ni-base Superalloy显示文摘The tensile and fracture behavior of DZ68 directionally solidified Ni-base superalloy was studied in the temperature range of room temperature (RT) to 1000°C. The fracture mode was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show the tensile strength and yield strength of DZ68 alloy increase slightly with increasing temperature, so that at 760°C its reach maxima value: 1214 and 1019 MPa, respectively. When the experimental temperature is higher than 760°C, the tensile and yield strengths decrease evidently and the ductility increases remarkably. The fractograph of fracture surface for the tensile specimen at room temperature shows a dimple-ductile fracture mode. The fractograph from 760 to 850°C shows a slide fracture mode. 8Improved methodology for efficient establishment of the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion model in pigs through the median thoracic incision显示文摘To investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of establishing porcine ischemia-reperfusion models by ligating the left anterior descending(LAD)coronary artery,we first randomly divided 16 male Bama pigs into a sham group and a model group.After anesthesia,we separated the arteries and veins.Subsequently,we rapidly located the LAD coronary artery at the beginning of its first diagonal branch through a mid-chest incision.Then,we loosened and released the ligation line after five minutes of pre-occlusion.Finally,we ligated the LAD coronary artery in situ two minutes later and loosened the ligature 60 min after ischemia.Compared with the sham group,electrocardiogram showed multiple continuous lead ST-segment elevations,and ultrasound cardiogram showed significantly lower ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening at one hour and seven days post-operation in the model group.Twenty-four hours after the operation,cardiac troponin T and creatine kinase-MB isoenzyme levels significantly increased in the model group,compared with the sham group.Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed the presence of many inflammatory cells infiltrating the interstitium of the myocardium in the model group but not in the sham group.Masson staining revealed a significant increase in infarct size in the ischemia/reperfusion group.All eight pigs in the model group recovered with normal sinus heart rates,and the survival rate was 100%.In conclusion,the method can provide an accurate and stable large animal model for preclinical research on ischemia/reperfusion with a high success rate and homogeneity of the myocardial infarction area.Liuhua Zhou Jiateng Sun Tongtong Yang Sibo Wang Tiankai Shan Lingfeng Gu Jiawen Chen Tianwen Wei Di Zhao Chong Du Yulin Bao Hao Wang Xiaohu Lu Haoliang Sun Meng Lv Di Yang Liansheng Wang 2023The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,4:1
9Underground coal gasification and its strategic significance to the development of natural gas industry in China显示文摘Based on the present situation and trend of underground coal gasification in China and overseas, this article puts forward the basic concept, mechanism and mode of underground coal gasification, and presents the challenges, development potential and development path now faced. In China, underground coal gasification which is in accord with the clean utilization of coal can produce 'artificial gas', which provides a new strategic approach to supply methane and hydrogen with Chinese characteristics before new energy sources offer large-scale supply. Coal measure strata in oil-bearing basins are developed in China, with 3.77 trillion tons coal reserves for the buried depth of 1000-3 000 m. It is initially expected that the amount of natural gas resources from underground coal gasification to be 272-332 trillion cubic meters, which are about triple the sum of conventional natural gas, or equivalent to the total unconventional natural gas resources. According to the differences of coal reaction mechanism and product composition of underground coal gasification, the underground coal gasification can be divided into three development modes, hydrogen-rich in shallow, methane-rich in medium and deep,supercritical hydrogen-rich in deep. Beyond the scope of underground mining of coal enterprises, petroleum and petrochemical enterprises can take their own integration advantages of technologies, pipeline, market and so on, to develop underground coal gasification business based on their different needs and technical maturity, to effectively exploit a large amount of coal resources cleanly and to alleviate the tight supply of natural gas. It can also be combined with using the produced hydrogen in nearby area and the CO_2 flooding and storage in adjacent oil areas to create a demonstration zone for net zero emissions of petroleum and petrochemical recycling economy. 12Sensitizing effect of Nd^(3+) on Tb^(3+) activated ZrP_(2)O_(7) long persistent phosphor materials显示文摘The long persistent phosphors of Zr_(0.97)P_(2)O_(7):0.018 Tb^(3+),0.012 Nd^(3+)with Nd^(3+)as sensitized ions and Tb^(3+)as emission centers were synthesized using high temperature solid state reaction.The crystal structure and defects,excitation and emission spectra,decay curves and thermoluminescence(TL) curves of the phosphors were investigated.The synthesized Zr_(0.97)P_(2)O_(7):0.018 Tb^(3+),0.012 Nd^(3+)is essentially in line with the standard card PDF#49-1079.The emission band with main peak at 548 nm exhibits the characteristic transitions of ^(5)D_(3)-^(7)F_(j)(j=5,4) and ^(5)D_(3)-^(7)F_(j)(j=6,5,4,3) of Tb^(3+).The analysis of excitation and emission spectra shows that there exists the overlap between the emission peaks of Nd^(3+)at 466 and 485 nm and the excitation of Tb^(3+)at 443 and 485 nm,and the energy transfer from Nd^(3+)to Tb^(3+)plays an important role in the improvement of luminescence properties.The decay curves shows that Zr_(0.97)P_(2)O_(7):0.018 Tb^(3+),0.012 Nd^(3+)has longer afterglow time than ZrP_(2)O_(7) and Zr_(0.982)P_(2)O_(7):0.018 Tb^(3+).Additionally,the TL curves indicate that the trap depth at 0.72 eV in Zr_(0.97)P_(2)O_(7):0.018 Tb^(3+),0.012 Nd^(3+)is to the benefit of the afterglow time.The possible luminescence mechanism of ZrP_(2)O_(7):Tb^(3+),Nd^(3+)is proposed on the basis of the XPS spectra,EPR spectra,excitation and emission spectra,decay curves,TL curves and the analysis of defect equations.Meihua Wu Wen Chen Siyuan Liu Yichao Sun Lingfeng Huang Guoliang Chen Zishan Zheng 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,7:0
13Chiral cation promoted interfacial charge extraction for efficient tin-based perovskite solar cells显示文摘Pb-free Sn-based perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have recently made inspiring progress, and power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 14.8% has been achieved. However, due to the energy-level mismatch and poor interfacial contact between commonly used hole transport layer(i.e., poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythio phene):poly(styrene sulfonate), PEDOT:PSS) and FASnI_(3) film, it is still challenging to effectively extract holes at the interface. Owing to the p-type nature of Sn-based perovskites, the efficient hole extraction is of particular significance to improve the PCE of their solar cells. In this work, for the first time, the role of chiral cations, a-methylbenzylamine(S-/R-/rac-MBA), in promoting hole transportation of FASnI_(3)-based PSCs is demonstrated. The introduction of MBAs is found to form 2D/3D film with lowdimensional structures locating at PEDOT:PSS/FASnI_(3) interface, which facilitates the energy level alignment and efficient charge transfer at the interface. Importantly, chiral-induced spin selectivity(CISS)effect of R-MBA_(2)SnI_(4)induced by chiral R-MBA cation is found to further assist the specific interfacial transport of accumulated holes. As a result, R-MBA-based PSCs achieve decent PCE of 10.73% with much suppressed hysteresis and enhanced device stability. 14Deciphering the evolution and complexity of wheat germplasm from a genomic perspective显示文摘Bread wheat provides an essential fraction of the daily calorific intake for humanity.Due to its huge and complex genome,progress in studying on the wheat genome is substantially trailed behind those of the other two major crops,rice and maize,for at least a decade.With rapid advances in genome assembling and reduced cost of high-throughput sequencing,emerging de novo genome assemblies of wheat and whole-genome sequencing data are leading to a paradigm shift in wheat research.Here,we review recent progress in dissecting the complex genome and germplasm evolution of wheat since the release of the first high-quality wheat genome.New insights have been gained in the evolution of wheat germplasm during domestication and modern breeding progress,genomic variations at multiple scales contributing to the diversity of wheat germplasm,and complex transcriptional and epigenetic regulations of functional genes in polyploid wheat.Genomics databases and bioinformatics tools meeting the urgent needs of wheat ge-nomics research are also summarized.The ever-increasing omics data,along with advanced tools and well-structured databases,are expected to accelerate deciphering the germplasm and gene resources in wheat for future breeding advances.Zihao Wang Lingfeng Miao Yongming Chen Huiru Peng Zhongfu Ni Qixin Sun Weilong Guo 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,11:0
15Performance analysis of a photovoltaic/thermal system with lunar regolith-based thermal storage for the lunar base显示文摘Powering a moon base,especially keeping it warm during the long lunar night,is a big challenge.This paper introduces a photovoltaic/thermal(PV/T)system incorporating regolith thermal storage to solve the challenge of power and heat provision for the lunar base simultaneously.The vacuum of space around the moon helps this system by reducing heat loss.During the moon's daytime,the system not only generates electricity but also captures heat.This stored heat in the regolith is then used at night,reducing the amount of equipment we need to send from Earth.The spectrally selective PV/T panels are designed to absorb a wide range of sunlight(0.3–2.5μm)while minimizing heat loss in the infrared range(3–30μm).Simulation results of the hybrid solar energy system indicate the average value of the overall efficiency is 45.9%,which relatively elevates 56.1%compared to the PV system.The launch mass of the proposed PV/T system is only 8.4%of a traditional photovoltaic-lithium battery system with the same amount of energy storage.And the total specific energy of the proposed system is 7.3 kWh kg^(-1),while that of the photovoltaic-lithium battery system is about 0.3 kWh kg^(-1).In summary,this study proposes an alternative combined heat and electricity supply system for the lunar base,which can greatly reduce the launch mass and free up load for other scientific research equipment.SUN WenGan ZHAO Bin PEI Yu SHI LingFeng HU MaoBin LI MuJun REN Xiao PEI Gang 2024Science China(Technological Sciences)2024,67,4:0
16Relaxation of Selective Constraint on the Ultra-Large Mitochondrial Genomes of Arcidae (Mollusca: Bivalvia)显示文摘The mitochondrial genomes(mitogenomes)are purportedly under selection for smaller size to improve their replica-tion and translation efficiency.However,the mitogenomes of Arcidae species are larger than those of other bivalves,and are among the largest metazoan mitogenomes reported to date.In order to explore the differences of base composition and selective constraints between the large and small mitogenomes,we compared the mitogenomes of 9 large arcid mitogenomes and 77 small bivalves mitogenomes.Base composition analyses indicated that Arcidae mitogenomes have significantly greater GC skews in both their whole genomes and coding sequences.This result suggests that the replication of the large mitogenomes in Arcidae may be slower than those in other bivalves,exposing the parental strand to deamination for a longer time.Selection pressure analyses showed that the mitochondrial protein-coding genes of Arcidae species have significantly higher Ka/Ks ratios than other bivalves,suggesting that they have accumulated more nonsynonymous nucleotide substitutions.Seven protein-coding genes(atp6,cox1-3,nad1,nad4 and nad5)show significant difference for Ka/Ks ratios between the Arcidae and non-Arcidae groups.However,these divergences are not observed in the nuclear gene within histone H3.From these observations,we concluded that the large mitoge-nomes of Arcidae species experienced more relaxed selective constraints.As some Arcidae species are more tolerant to hypoxia that can lead to low metabolic rate,the relaxed selective constraints of mitogenomes may be energy-related.This study provides new insights into the evolution of Arcidae mitogenomes.SUN Shao’e LI Qi KONG Lingfeng 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,5:0

19Molecular Identification of Dried Shellfish Products Sold on the Market Using DNA Barcoding显示文摘The dried shellfish products with rich nutrients and low-calorie content are favorite food in China,especially in coastal areas.However,the species of dried shellfish products in the market are usually unknown,as the taxonomic features were removed during the production process.This study described the application of DNA barcoding technique to the identification of 100 dried shellfish(scallop,squid,octopus and cuttlefish)products in markets.Samples were authenticated by comparing mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I(COI)gene and 16S ribosomal RNA(16S rRNA)gene sequences with public reference taxonomic databases.The results showed that all the 100 products can be identified at species level.Sixty four scallop adductor products were processed using the bay scallop,Argopecten irradians,and one was from Portuguese oyster,Crassostrea angulata.All the 27 squid,2 cuttlefish and 6 octopus products were produced by the Jumbo flying squid,Dosidicus gigas.The neighbour-joining tree is in agreement with the results of DNA barcoding analysis.The 64 scallop samples formed one A.irradians cluster,leaving Sca65 clustered with the reference oyster sequence C.angulata(MH997922).All the 35 cephalopod(squid,octopus and cuttlefish)samples formed a D.gigas cluster.This investigation revealed a low variety of dried shellfish products sold on the market,and highlighted the high rate of mislabeling and species substitution.Our present work provides a practical method for tracing and authenticating shellfish products.SUN Shao’e ZHANG Xiaojie KONG Lingfeng LI Qi 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,4:0
20The Effect of Chemical Cues on the Settlement of Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus) Larvae显示文摘The effects of four ions and eight neuroactive compounds on inducing larval settlement of A. japonicus were assessed in the present study. All bioassays were conducted in 60 × 9 mm Petri dishes, each contained 10 mL of the test solution and 10 doliolaria larvae. There were significant inductive effects of K+(10- mmol L-1), NH+4(0.1 mmol L1), GABA(10-3 mol L-1), acetylcholine(10-5 mol L-1), L-DOPA(10-5 mol L-1), norepinephrine(10-5 mol L-1) and dopamine(10-7 mol L-1 and 10-5 mol L-1) on the settlement of sea cucumber larvae. L-DOPA and dopamine are the most efficient chemical cues to induce A. japonicus larvae to settle. The highest percentage of larval settlement was induced by 10-5 mol L-1 L-DOPA and dopamine(33% and 40%) compared to the control(7%). However, Ca2+, Mg2+, choline, serotonin, and epinephrine were less effective on larval settlement at all tested concentrations.
