1Cancer-associated fibroblasts in breast cancer:Challenges and opportunities显示文摘The tumor microenvironment is proposed to contribute substantially to the progression of cancers,including breast cancer.Cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are the most abundant components of the tumor microenvironment.Studies have revealed that CAFs in breast cancer originate from several types of cells and promote breast cancer malignancy by secreting factors,generating exosomes,releasing nutrients,reshaping the extracellular matrix,and suppressing the function of immune cells.CAFs are also becoming therapeutic targets for breast cancer due to their specific distribution in tumors and their unique biomarkers.Agents interrupting the effect of CAFs on surrounding cells have been developed and applied in clinical trials.Here,we reviewed studies examining the heterogeneity of CAFs in breast cancer and expression patterns of CAF markers in different subtypes of breast cancer.We hope that summarizing CAFrelated studies from a historical perspective will help to accelerate the development of CAF-targeted therapeutic strategies for breast cancer.Dengdi Hu Zhaoqing Li Bin Zheng Xixi Lin Yuehong Pan Peirong Gong Wenying Zhuo Yujie Hu Cong Chen Lini Chen Jichun Zhou Linbo Wang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,5:9
2Variation in cis-regulation of a NAC transcription factor contributes to drought tolerance in wheat显示文摘Drought is a major environmental factor limiting wheat production worldwide,and developing drought-tolerant cultivars is a central challenge for wheat breeders globally.Therefore,it is important to identify genetic components determining drought tolerance in wheat.In this study,we identified a wheat NAC gene(TaNAC071-A)that is tightly associated with drought tolerance by a genome-wide association study.Knockdown of TaNAC071-A in wheat attenuated plant drought tolerance,whereas its overexpression significantly enhanced drought tolerance through improved water-use efficiency and increased expression of stress-responsive genes.This heightened water-saving mechanism mitigated the yield loss caused by water deficit.Further candidate gene association analysis showed that a 108-bp insertion in the promoter of TaNAC071-A alters its expression level and contributes to variation in drought tolerance among wheat accessions.This insertion contains two MYB cis-regulatory elements(CREs)that can be directly bound by the MYB transcription activator,TaMYBL1,thereby leading to increased TaNAC071-A expression and plant drought tolerance.Importantly,introgression of this 108-bp insertion allele,TaNAC071-AIn-693,into drought-sensitive cultivars could improve their drought tolerance,demonstrating that it is a valuable genetic resource for wheat breeding.Taken together,our findings highlight a major breakthrough in determining the genetic basis underlying phenotypic variation in wheat drought tolerance and showcase the potential of exploiting CRE-containing indels for improving important agronomical traits.Hude Mao Shumin Li Bin Chen Chao Jian Fangming Mei Yifang Zhang Fangfang Li Nan Chen Tian Li Linying Du Li Ding Zhongxue Wang Xinxiu Cheng Xiaojing Wang Zhensheng Kang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,2:9
3Pinning weighted complex networks with heterogeneous delays by a small number of feedback controllers显示文摘Weighted complex dynamical networks with heterogeneous delays in both continuous-time and discrete-time domains are controlled by applying local feedback injections to a small fraction of network nodes. Some generic stability criteria ensuring delay-independent stability are derived for such controlled networks in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which guarantee that by placing a small number of feedback controllers on some nodes the whole network can be pinned to some desired homogenous states. In some particular cases, a single controller can achieve the control objective. It is found that stabilization of such pinned networks is completely determined by the dynamics of the individual uncoupled node, the overall coupling strength, the inner-coupling matrix, and the smallest eigenvalue of the coupling and control matrix. 4Composition and origin of lipid biomarkers in the surface sediments from the southern Challenger Deep, Mariana Trench显示文摘The surface sediments collected from the southern Mariana Trench at water depths between ca.4900 m and 7068 m were studied using lipid biomarker analyses to reveal the origin and distribution of organic matters. For all samples, an unresolved complex mixture(UCM) was present in the hydrocarbon fractions, wherein resistant component tricyclic terpanes were detected but C_(27)-C _(29) regular steranes and hopanes indicative of a higher molecular weight range of petroleum were almost absent.This biomarker distribution patterns suggested that the UCM and tricyclic terpanes may be introduced by contamination of diesel fuels or shipping activities and oil seepage elsewhere. The well-developed faults and strike-slip faults in the Mariana subduction zone may serve as passages for the petroleum hydrocarbons. In addition, the relative high contents of even n-alkanes and low Carbon Preference Indices indicated that the n-alkanes were mainly derived from bacteria or algae. For GDGTs, the predominance of GDGT-0 and crenarchaeol, together with low GDGT-0/Crenarchaeol ratios(ranging from0.86 to 1.64), suggests that the GDGTs in samples from the southern Mariana Trench were mainly derived from planktic Thaumarchaeota. However, the high GDGT-0/crenarchaeol ratio(10.5) in sample BC07 suggests that the GDGTs probably were introduced by methanogens in a more anoxic environment. Furthermore, the n-alkanes C_(19)-C_(22) and the n-fatty acids C_(20:0)-C_(22:0) were depleted in^(13)C by 3‰ compared to n-alkanes C_(16)-C_(18) and the n-fatty acids C_(14:0)-C_(18:0), respectively, which was interpreted to result from the preferential reaction of fatty acid fragments with carbon 'lighter' terminal carboxyl groups during carbon chain elongation from the precursors to products. The abundance of total alkanes, carboxylic acids, alcohols and total lipids were generally increased along the down-going seaward plate, suggesting the lateral organic matter inputs play an important role in organic matter accumulation in hadal trenches. The extremely high contents of biomarkers in sample BC11 were most likely related to trench topography and current dynamics, since the lower steepness caused by graben texture and proximity to the trench axis may result in higher sedimentation rate. 5先天性白内障手术后无晶状体性青光眼显示文摘目的:描述先天性白内障晶状体切开摘除术后发生无晶状体性青光眼的最大一组患者。方法:对1970年10月1日至2002年11月30日期间1位儿童青光眼专科医生经治的所有患者作回顾性复习。晶状体切开摘除术后眼压高于25mmHg(1kPa=7.5mmHg)的患者被纳入研究。晶状体摘除术前具有与青光眼任何独立相关疾病的患者或者有任何青光眼体征的患者均被剔除。结果:我们研究了117例患者的170只眼。随访时间均数±标准差为(8.6±7.6)年。最常见的白内障类型为完全性(40.8%)和核性(22.5%)。103只眼采用现代玻璃体切除技术行晶状体切开摘除术。10只眼采用较过时的技术。80.6%的眼在1岁之前做晶状体切开摘除术。晶状体切开摘除术后1年、6年和33年后分别有37.1%、75.9%和100%的眼发生青光眼。经前房角镜检查的患眼中。93.9%为开角型。57.1%的眼需要做青光眼手术。最终视力中位数为20/400。结论:大部分无晶状体性青光眼病例为开角型。要考虑多种危险因素。其预后是有保留的。需要终生随访筛查青光眼。Teresa C. 20Pinning synchronization of networked multi-agent systems: spectral analysis显示文摘Pinning synchronization of a networked multi-agent system with a directed communication topology is investigated from a spectral analysis approach. Some new types of synchronized regions for networked systems with different nonlinear agent dynamics and inner coupling structures are discovered. The eigenvalue distributions of the coupling and control matrices for different types of directed networks are obtained. The effects of the network topology, pinning density and pinning strength on the network synchronizability are examined through extensive numerical simulations. It is shown that the synchronizability of the pinned network can be effectively improved by increasing pinning density and pinning strength for some types of synchronized regions, whereas too large the pinning density and pinning strength will lead to desynchronization for other types.
