2Climatic characteristics of high temperature in East China during 1961-2005显示文摘Based on the daily maximum temperature data covering the period 1961-2005, temporal and spatial characteristics and their changing in mean annual and monthly high temperature days(HTDs)and the mean daily maximum temperature(MDMT)during annual and monthly HTDs in East China were studied.The results show that the mean annual HTDs were 15.1 and the MDMT during annual HTDs was 36.3℃in the past 45 years.Both the mean annual HTDs and the MDMT during annual HTDs were negative anomaly in the1980s and positive anomaly in the other periods of time,oscillating with a cycle of about 12-15 years.The mean annual HTDs were more in the southern part,but less in the northern part of East China.The MDMT during annual HTDs was higher in Zhejiang,Anhui and Jiangxi provinces in the central and western parts of East China.The high temperature process(HTP) was more in the southwestern part,but less in northeastern part of East China.Both the HTDs and the numbers of HTP were at most in July,and the MDMT during monthly HTDs was also the highest in July.In the first 5 years of the 21st century,the mean annual HTDs and the MDMT during annual HTDs increased at most of the stations,both the mean monthly HTDs and the MDMT during monthly HTDs were positive anomalies from April to October,the number of each type of HTP generally was at most and the MDMT in each type of HTP was also the highest.SHI Jun TANG Xu CUI Linli 2008Journal of Geographical Sciences2008,18,3:5
3Non-genetic photoacoustic stimulation of single neurons by a tapered fiber optoacoustic emitter显示文摘Neuromodulation at high spatial resolution poses great significance in advancing fundamental knowledge in the field of neuroscience and offering novel clinical treatments.Here,we developed a tapered fiber optoacoustic emitter(TFOE)generating an ultrasound field with a high spatial precision of 39.6 pm,enabling optoacoustic activation of single neurons or subcellular structures,such as axons and dendrites.Temporally,a single acoustic pulse of sub-microsecond converted by the TFOE from a single laser pulse of 3 ns is shown as the shortest acoustic stimuli so far for successful neuron activation.The precise ultrasound generated by the TFOE enabled the integration of the optoacoustic stimulation with highly stable patch-clamp recording on single neurons.Direct measurements of the electrical response of single neurons to acoustic stimulation,which is difficult for conventional ultrasound stimulation,have been demonstrated.By coupling TFOE with ex vivo brain slice electrophysiology,we unveil cell-type-specific responses of excitatory and inhibitory neurons to acoustic stimulation.These results demonstrate that TFOE is a non-genetic single-cell and sub-cellular modulation technology,which could shed new insights into the mechanism of ultrasound neurostimulation.Linli Shi Ying Jiang Fernando R.Fernandez Guo Chen Lu Lan Heng-Ye Man John A.White Ji-Xin Cheng Chen Yang 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,8:4
4Variations of the thermal growing season during the period 1961–2015 in northern China显示文摘Researching into changes in thermal growing season has been one of the most important scientific issues in studies of the impact of global climate change on terrestrial ecosystems. However, few studies investigated the differences under various definitions of thermal growing season and compared the trends of thermal growing season in different parts of China. Based on the daily mean air temperatures collected from 877 meteorological stations over northern China from 1961 to 2015, we investigated the variations of the thermal growing season parameters including the onset, ending and duration of the growing season using the methods of differential analysis, trend analysis, comparative analysis, and Kriging interpolation technique. Results indicate that the differences of the maximum values of those indices for the thermal growing season were significant, while they were insignificant for the mean values. For indices with the same length of the spells exceeding 5°C, frost criterion had a significant effect on the differences of the maximum values. The differences of the mean values between frost and non-frost indices were also slight, even smaller than those from the different lengths of the spells. Temporally, the starting date of the thermal growing season advanced by 10.0–11.0 days, while the ending dates delayed by 5.0–6.0 days during the period 1961–2015. Consequently, the duration of the thermal growing season was prolonged 15.0–16.0 days. Spatially, the advanced onset of the thermal growing season occurred in the southwestern, eastern, and northeastern parts of northern China, whereas the delayed ending of the thermal growing season appeared in the western part, and the length of the thermal growing season was prolonged significantly in the vast majority of northern China. The trend values of the thermal growing season were affected by altitude. The magnitude of the earlier onset of the thermal growing season decreased, and that of the later ending increased rapidly as the altitude increased, causing the magnitude of the prolonged growing season increased correspondingly. 7Optically-generated focused ultrasound for noninvasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision显示文摘High precision neuromodulation is a powerful tool to decipher neurocircuits and treat neurological diseases.Current non-invasive neuromodulation methods offer limited precision at the milimeter level.Here,we report opticallygenerated focused ultrasound(OFUS)for non-invasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision.OFUS is generated by a soft optoacoustic pad(SOAP)fabricated through embedding candle soot nanoparticles in a curved polydimethylsiloxane film.SOAP generates a transcranial ultrasound focus at 15 MHz with an ultrahigh lateral resolution of 83μm,which is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of conventional transcranial-focused ultrasound(tFUS).Here,we show effective OFUS neurostimulation in vitro with a single ultrasound cycle.We demonstrate submillimeter transcranial stimulation of the mouse motor cortex in vivo.An acoustic energy of 0.6 mJ/cm?,four orders of magnitude less than that of tFUS,is suffcient for successful OFUS neurostimulation.OFUS offers new capabilities for neuroscience studies and disease treatments by delivering a focus with ultrahigh precision noninvasively.Yueming Li Ying Jiang Lu Lan Xiaowei Ge Ran Cheng Yuewei Zhan Guo Chen Linli Shi Runyu Wang Nan Zheng Chen Yang Ji-Xin Cheng 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,11:1
8Elevated nuclear PIGL disrupts the cMyc/BRD4 axis and improves PD-1 blockade therapy by dampening tumor immune evasion显示文摘To improve the efficacy of lenvatinib in combination with programmed death-1(PD-1)blockade therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),we screened the suppressive metabolic enzymes that sensitize HCC to lenvatinib and PD-1 blockade,thus impeding HCC progression.After analysis of the CRISPR‒Cas9 screen,phosphatidylinositol-glycan biosynthesis class L(PIGL)ranked first in the positive selection list.PIGL depletion had no effect on tumor cell growth in vitro but reprogrammed the tumor microenvironment(TME)in vivo to support tumor cell survival.Specifically,nuclear PIGL disrupted the interaction between cMyc/BRD4 on the distant promoter of target genes and thus decreased the expression of CCL2 and CCL20,which are involved in shaping the immunosuppressive TME by recruiting macrophages and regulatory T cells.PIGL phosphorylation at Y81 by FGFR2 abolished the interaction of PIGL with importinα/β1,thus retaining PIGL in the cytosol and facilitating tumor evasion by releasing CCL2 and CCL20.Clinically,elevated nuclear PIGL predicts a better prognosis for HCC patients and presents a positive correlation with CD8+T-cell enrichment in tumors.Clinically,our findings highlight that the nuclear PIGL intensity or the change in PIGL-Y81 phosphorylation should be used as a biomarker to guide lenvatinib with PD-1 blockade therapy.Hua Yu Tiezhu Shi Linli Yao Dongwei Xu Yufeng Ding Qiang Xia Wei Liu Xiongjun Wang 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,8:1

10APPLICATION OF SATELLITE CLOUD IMAGERY IN TRACK ANALYSIS OF TROPICAL CYCLONES显示文摘China is frequently affected by tropical cyclones in summer and autumn because its southern and eastern parts border low-latitude oceans.The track forecasting of tropical cyclones is a key issue in weather forecasting.In daily operations,forecasters usually focus on the effects of environmental flow fields on tropical cyclones,such as the subtropical high pressure belt,the basic flow,the troughs and ridges in westerlies,the cross-equatorial flow,the equatorial convergence belt,and the polar front.However,these factors become less significant when the environmental fields are so weak that the steering flow does not play a vital role or we cannot accurately determine the evolution of the environment flow field.Meteorological satellite cloud imagery can fill the data gap of conventional observations and provide important clues for forecasting the status and development of tropical cyclones when they are included in day-to-day weather forecasting operations.In this study,using 'Muifa', 'Haikui' and other typhoons as examples,the effects of the cloud pattern and the large-scale environmental vapor fields,on the moving tracks of typhoons were analyzed based on satellite data.The results showed that the change of structures of typhoon spiral cloud bands and the turning of the typhoon path were taking on greater relevance,and at the same time the satellite water vapor images had obvious advantages in terms of indicating the large-scale environmental fields.A combination of satellite cloud imagery,observational data,and weather event analysis remains the most effective approach in the operational forecasting of typhoon moving tracks.Linli Cui Lanhong Shi Qiu Yin Wei Yu Xiaoqin Lu Jie Liu 2013Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2013,2,4:0
11The composition and functional profile of the microbial communities in human gastric cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues显示文摘Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)is known to be a major risk factor for the development of gastric cancer.In recent years,increasing attention is being paid to the role of non-H.pylori Helicobacters(NHPHs)in this disease and the role of microorganisms in local tumor microenvironment.In this study,we aimed to compare the microbial community composition and the predicted functional profile in paired cancer and adjacent normal tissues of gastric cancer patients.Cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues were collected from 10 patients with gastric cancer under endoscopy,and genomic DNA was extracted.The V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified by PCR and paired-end sequencing was performed on the Illumina MiSeq System.The data was analyzed using QIIME 2 software.The results showed that microbial richness and diversity as well as genetic diversity are significantly lower in cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues.At the phylum level,the dominant taxa are Proteobacteria,Thermi,Actinobacteria,Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes in both groups.At the genus level,some taxa,such as Cupriavidus and Sphingomonas,are significantly enriched in cancer tissues,while other taxa,such as Ochrobactrum,are enriched in adjacent normal tissues.Moreover,those taxa enriched in cancer tissues are associated with the synthesis and degradation of ketone bodies.In conclusion,there is a significant difference in the composition of the mucosa-related microbial communities between cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues in patients with gastric cancer.Linli Shi Qilin Fan Bin Zhou Jingjing Wu Min Jin Dandan Yu Tao Zhang Jun Song Hongli Liu 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,1:0
12Tumor-associated microbiota in colorectal cancer with vascular tumor thrombus and neural invasion and association with clinical prognosis显示文摘Neural invasion(NI)and vascular tumor thrombus(VT)are associated with poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).In this study,we apply 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues in patients with CRC to determine the microbial differences.A discovery cohort,including 30 patients with NI,23 with VT,and 35 with double-negative CRC tissue,is utilized.Then,we analyze the relationship between the specific bacterial taxa and indicators of different dimensions in separate cohorts.In the discovery cohort,the diversity and composition of the gut microbiome distinctly differ between the tumor and nontumor tissues in the NI and VT groups.A high abundance of Cupriavidus is found to be related to a short survival time of NI CRC,while Herbaspirillum is a potential microbial biomarker predicting the prognosis of patients with CRC with NI or VT.Moreover,the abundance of Cupriavidus or Herbaspirillum is associated with some clinical patient characteristics and prognosis,respectively.In conclusion,this study is the first to comprehensively elaborate the differences in the gut microbiota of patients with CRC with different invasion statuses and to prove the relationship between some gut microbiota and clinical patient characteristics.Mingjie Li Min Jin Lei Zhao Dandan Yu Yan Li Linli Shi Bin Zhou Li Liu Yinghao Cao Kailin Cai Jun Fan Xiu Nie Tao Zhang Hongli Liu 2024Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,3:0
13SBC(Sanhuang Xiexin Tang combined with Baihu Tang plus Cangzhu)alleviates NAFLD by enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and ameliorating inflammation in obese patients and mice显示文摘In the context of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), characterized by dysregulated lipid metabolism in hepatocytes, the quest for safe and effective therapeutics targeting lipid metabolism has gained paramount importance. Sanhuang Xiexin Tang (SXT) and Baihu Tang (BHT) have emerged as prominent candidates for treating metabolic disorders. SXT combined with BHT plus Cangzhu (SBC) has been used clinically for Weihuochisheng obese patients. This retrospective analysis focused on assessing the anti-obesity effects of SBC in Weihuochisheng obese patients. We observed significant reductions in body weight and hepatic lipid content among obese patients following SBC treatment. To gain further insights, we investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of SBC in HFD-fed mice. The results demonstrated that SBC treatment mitigated body weight gain and hepatic lipid accumulation in HFD-fed mice. Pharmacological network analysis suggested that SBC may affect lipid metabolism, mitochondria, inflammation, and apoptosis—a hypothesis supported by the hepatic transcriptomic analysis in HFD-fed mice treated with SBC. Notably, SBC treatment was associated with enhanced hepatic mitochondrial biogenesis and the inhibition of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/NF-κB pathways. In conclusion, SBC treatment alleviates NAFLD in both obese patients and mouse models by improving lipid metabolism, potentially through enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis.
