| 1 | Tribological properties of copper matrix composites reinforced with homogeneously dispersed graphene nanosheets显示文摘Graphene reinforced copper matrix composites(Gr/Cu) were fabricated by electrostatic self-assembly and powder metallurgy. The morphology and structure of graphene oxide, graphene oxide-Cu powders and Gr/Cu composites were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy, transmission electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, respectively. The effects of graphene contents,applied loads and sliding speeds on the tribological behavior of the composites were investigated. The results indicate that the coefficient of friction of the composites decreases first and then increases with increasing the graphene content. The lowest friction coefficient is achieved in 0.3 wt% Gr/Cu composite,which decreases by 65% compared to that of pure copper. The coefficient of friction of the composite does not have significant change with increasing the applied load, however, it increases with increasing the sliding speed. | 6 | Spherical cationic polymer networks with porphyrin photosensitizer for sustainable and efficient photocatalysis显示文摘The continuous and sustainable photo-activity on micro-or nano-carriers has always been a key stepping stone in the industrialization of photo-catalysis,photo-synthesis,and photo-degradation.Herein,we report a new series of positively charged hollow microspheres carrying porphyrin moieties.Such hollow spheres are formed through crosslinking of well-ordered porous thin laminates,initiated by co-assembly of regular monomers and those decorated with porphyrin moieties.On the surface of an individual sphere,densely distributed positive sites attract anionic reactants.The superficial porphyrin decomposes the accumulated reactants under 1 Sun.After degradation and release of products,the photoactive sites are thereby renewed.We demonstrate that polymer network(1:10)exhibited superior sustainable photocatalytic performance with complete degradation of methyl orange(MO)in 40 min with no observable performance deterioration after six cycles.The established close loop of adsorption-reaction-release cycle makes possible many efficient and continuous photo-catalytic processes. | Lingling Zhang Liwei Wu Junhui Bao Longhui Li Zejun Liu Feng Bai Jie Ju Xi Yao | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
| 7 | Body Size and Reproductive Tactics in Varanid lizards显示文摘Body size and female reproduction in the water monitor lizard(Varanus salvator) were studied. Forty-two adult females larger than 500 mm SVL and 32 adult males larger than 400 mm SVL were donated by local people in Ledong, Hainan under permit to our laboratory in Hainan in 2013 and 2014. The largest male and female measured 745 and 755 mm SVL, respectively. The mean SVL was greater in adult females than in adult males. Males had larger heads(head width) than females of the same SVL. The smallest reproductive female in our sample was 565 mm SVL. Females produced a single clutch of 17.1(10-23) pliable-shelled eggs per breeding season stretching from mid-June and mid-September. Clutch size and clutch mass were all positively related to female SVL. However, there was no significant linear relationship between egg mass and female SVL. Larger females generally produced more eggs, and thus heavier clutches than did smaller ones. There was no significant linear relationship between relative clutch mass and female SVL. Phylogenetic generalized least squares(PGLS) analysis, accounting for phylogenetic relationships, showed that clutch size was positively correlated with mean maternal SVL in varanid lizards. PGLS analysis showed that phylogenetic relationships did not affect clutch(or/and egg) mass and the SVL although there were significant linear relationship between clutch(or/and egg) mass and mean maternal SVL.
