1A Complete Embryonic Developmental Table of Microhyla fissipes(Amphibia,Anura,Microhylidae)显示文摘Access to embryonic developmental stages is essential basic work for understanding how organisms develop. In this study, seven egg clutches(range 209–564 eggs) of ornamented pygmy frog Microhyla fissipes(Amphibia, Anura, Microhylidae) were obtained from seven breeding pairs in laboratory. One egg clutch of them was observed for the embryonic development, and the staging table of normal development was constructed based on morphological and physiological characteristics. Forty-five developmental stages were defined for M. fissipes, and two major developmental periods were designated: 1) early embryonic development period(stages 1–28), from fertilization to operculum completion stage, lasted for 82.6 hours at water temperature(WT) 23–25℃; 2) larval development period(stages 29–45), from operculum completion to tail complete absorption stage, took 38 days at WT 22–26.5℃, showing that the embryos of this species develop rapidly. In addition, the tadpoles were transparent, which is similar to those in field. 2Nutrients of green and senesced leaves of a Robinia pseudoacacia plantation along a latitudinal gradient on the Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Plantations have been widely established to improve ecosystem services and functioning.Black locust,Robinia pseudoacacia L.is a common,widely planted species to control soil erosion on the Loess Plateau.Previous studies have focused on economic values but the interactions between soil and plant carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)remain unknown.Investigating variations of soil,green and senesced leaf C,N and P levels in R.pseudoacacia along a latitudinal gradient is useful to understanding its ecological functions.The results show that soil C,N and senesced leaf N and P significantly decreased with an increase in latitude,but there were no significant changes in the senesced leaf C and soil P.The resorption efficiency of N was related with latitude and soil N levels,and the relation between green leaf N and soil N was significant.These relations suggest that soil N was the key in affecting green leaf N levels.At higher latitudes,senesced leaves had lower N levels associated with higher N resorption efficiency to maintain a stable N content in green leaves.With a decrease of soil N,R.pseudoacacia can enhance N resorption efficiency to meet the demand of growth.Thus,it is an important species for reforestation,especially in nutrient-poor environments.Quanchao Zeng Yang Liu Jiajia Yang Yanan Chen Lusha Ma Shaoshan An 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:2
3Morbidity Analysis of the Notifiable Infectious Diseases in China,2018显示文摘Introduction Notifiable infectious disease surveillance is important for understanding the trends in morbidity for certain diseases,especially detection of acute infectious disease outbreaks and changing epidemiology.A web-based reporting system was deployed in January 2004,which has improved data collection and speed tremendously.This report provides an updated analysis for reports published in 2013 and 2015.Methods Data from the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System(NNDRS)was used.The NNRDS shows data from 39 notifiable diseases split into three categories(A,B,and C)based on severity and importance.A descriptive analysis was conducted to analyze the morbidity of notifiable diseases in China.Results In 2018,the morbidity of national notifiable diseases was 559.41 per 100,000 population,an increase of 12.88% compared with the average of 2015–2017.The proportion of laboratory confirmed cases was 36.22%,which decreased 4.03% compared with the average of that in the recent three years.Diseases transmitted by direct contact/fecal–oral transmission accounted for the largest proportion,49.37% of the total reported cases,followed by the respiratory transmitted diseases,blood-borne/sexually transmitted diseases,and the zoonotic and vectorborne diseases with a proportion of 25.18%,24.60%,and 0.85%,respectively.Pathogenic descriptive analysis showed that the viral-infected cases accounted for 73.78% of the totals,followed by the bacterialinfected and parasitic diseases.Conclusion The national morbidity of notifiable infectious diseases showed increases in 2018,mostly due to higher morbidity of category C diseases,such as HFMD,infectious diarrhea,and influenza,and these diseases need to be further prioritized in disease control and prevention efforts.Laboratory confirmed cases remain low and need to be improved to improve data quality.Shuaibing Dong Xiang Ren Cuihong Zhang Mengjie Geng Yuliang Zhu Lusha Shi Lijie Zhang Zhongjie Li Liping Wang 2019China CDC weekly2019,1,4:2

7Is Participating in MOOC Forums Important for Students? A Data-driven Study from the Perspective of the Supernetwork显示文摘Purpose: Compared with traditional course materials used in the classroom, the massive open online course(MOOC) forum that delivers unlimited learning content to students has various advantages. Yet MOOC has also received criticism recently, notably the problem of extremely low participation rates in its discussion forums. This study aims to explore the correlation between forum activity and student course grade in MOOC, and identify more accurately the forum activity levels of participants and the quality of threads in MOOC.Design/Methodology/Approach: We crawled students' tests, final exams, exercises, discussions performance data and total scores from a course in Chinese College MOOC from May 2014 to August 2014. And we use the data to analyze the correlation between Forum Participation and Course Performance based on nonparametric tests as well as multiple linear regressions with the software of R. The study provides definitions and algorithms of super degrees based on the supernetwork model to help find high-quality threads and active participants.Findings: A positive correlation between forum activity and course grade is found in this study. Students who participate in the forum have better performance than those who do not. Using the definitions and algorithms of super degrees in the supernetwork, forum activity levels of participants as well as the quality of threads they employ are identified. Research limitation: Only limited representative forum participants and threads are used to analyze the activity level and significance of the MOOC forum. Also, the study only investigates one Chinese course on information retrieval. More data and more data sources could be helpful in better understanding the MOOC forum phenomenon.Practical implications: As super degrees can reveal more latent information and recognize high-quality threads as well as active participants, these parameters can be used to assess needs to improve forum settings and alleviate the problem of low forum participation. The proposed super degrees can be applied in social network domains for further research.Originality/Value: Definitions and algorithms of super degrees are provided and used for forum analysis. 13Molecular Characterization of Thyroid Hormone Receptors (TRs) and their Responsiveness to T3 in Microhylafissipes显示文摘To explore and enrich the molecular mechanisms of thyroid hormone receptors(TRs) in the metamorphosis of amphibians, the c DNA sequences of TRα and TRβ in Microhyla fissipes were cloned and characterized. TRα was 1 706 bp in length with an open reading frame(ORF) of 1 257 bp encoding a predicted protein of 418 amino acids and TRβ was 1 422 bp with an ORF of 1 122 bp encoding a predicted protein of 373 amino acids. Their protein sequences contained 4 conserved domains of the nuclear receptor superfamily with two highly conserved cysteine-rich zinc fingers in the DNA-binding domain, whereas TRβ was 42 amino acids shorter in its A/B domain than TRα. Highly-conserved sequences and structures indicated their conserved functions during metamorphosis. TRα expression reached peak at 12 h and then decreased from 12 h to 48 h. While dramatically up-regulated TRβ was observed after exposure of T3 within 24 h, and it was down-regulated from 24 h to 48 h. The expression pattern of TRβ is similar to that in the natural metamorphosis. Furthermore, tadpoles treated 24 h also resembled the climax of metamorphosis tadpoles and TRβexpression had higher responsiveness than TRα to T3 in M. fissipes.
