| 5 | Wheat grain yield and nitrogen uptake prediction using atLeaf and GreenSeeker portable optical sensors at jointing growth stage显示文摘Rapid acquisition of information about nitrogen(N)uptake and grain yield is an essential step in making site-specific in-season fertilizer N management decisions.The objective of this study was to quantify and validate the relationships between N uptake and grain yield of wheat using in-season measurements with atLeaf chlorophyll meter and GreenSeeker optical sensor at Feekes 6 growth stage(jointing stage)of wheat.The relationships were developed using data generated from experiments with multi-rate fertilizer N treatments and conducted in two consecutive wheat seasons(2017/2018 and 2018/2019)at two locations in the western Nile Delta of Egypt.A power function based on atLeaf measurement at Feekes 6 stage of wheat could explain 55.3%and 53.3%variations in the N uptake at this stage and grain yield at maturity,respectively.Measurements with GreenSeeker were related with N uptake and yield of wheat through exponential function and could explain 68.5%and 60.6%of the variation in N uptake and grain yield,respectively.The developed models were validated on an independent data set from another field experiment on wheat.The normalized root mean square error for the relation between atLeaf measurements and N uptake and grain yield were fair,whereas the fits were good for measurements with GreenSeeker.This study reveals that atLeaf chlorophyll meter and GreenSeeker optical sensor can be successfully used for establishing site-specific N management strategies in wheat. | Ali M.Ali S.M.Ibrahim Bijay-Singh | 2020 | Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,3: | 3 |

| 7 | The impact of pastoralist mobility on tuberculosis control in Ethiopia:a systematic review and meta-synthesis显示文摘Background:Directly observed treatment,short-course(DOTS)is the current mainstay to control tuberculosis(TB)worldwide.Context-specific adaptations of DOTS have impending implications in the fight against TB.In Ethiopia,there is a national TB control programme with the goal to eliminate TB,but uneven distribution across lifestyle gradients remains a challenge.Notably,the mobile pastoralist communities in the country are disproportionately left uncovered.The aim of this study was to summarize the evidence base from published literature to guide TB control strategy for mobile pastoralist communities in Ethiopia.Main text:We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines and systematically reviewed articles in seven electronic databases:Excerptra Medical Database,African Journal Online,PubMed,Google Scholar,Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International Direct,Cochrane Library and Web of Science.The databases were searched from inception to December 31,2018,with no language restriction.We screened 692 items of which 19 met our inclusion criteria.Using a meta-ethnographic method,we identified six themes:(i)pastoralism in Ethiopia;(ii)pastoralists’livelihood profile;(iii)pastoralists’service utilisation;(iv)pastoralists’knowledge and awareness on TB control services;(v)challenges of TB control in pastoral settings;and(vi)equity disparities affecting pastoralists.Our interpretation triangulates the results across all included studies and shows that TB control activities observed in pastoralist regions of Ethiopia are far fewer than elsewhere in the country.Conclusions:This systematic review and meta-synthesis shows that TB control in Ethiopia does not align well with the pastoralist lifestyle.Inaccessibility and lack of acceptability of TB care are the key bottlenecks to pastoralist TB service provision.Targeting these two parameters holds promise to enhance effectiveness of an intervention. | Faisal Nooh Lisa Crump Abdiwahab Hashi Rea Tschopp Esther Schelling Klaus Reither Jan Hattendorf Seid M.Ali Brigit Obrist Jurg Utzinger Jakob Zinsstag | 2019 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,5: | 2 |
| 8 | Machine Learning Approach for COVID-19 Detection on Twitter显示文摘Social networking services(SNSs)provide massive data that can be a very influential source of information during pandemic outbreaks.This study shows that social media analysis can be used as a crisis detector(e.g.,understanding the sentiment of social media users regarding various pandemic outbreaks).The novel Coronavirus Disease-19(COVID-19),commonly known as coronavirus,has affected everyone worldwide in 2020.Streaming Twitter data have revealed the status of the COVID-19 outbreak in the most affected regions.This study focuses on identifying COVID-19 patients using tweets without requiring medical records to find the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter messages(tweets).For this purpose,we propose herein an intelligent model using traditional machine learning-based approaches,such as support vector machine(SVM),logistic regression(LR),naïve Bayes(NB),random forest(RF),and decision tree(DT)with the help of the term frequency inverse document frequency(TF-IDF)to detect the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter messages.The proposed intelligent traditional machine learning-based model classifies Twitter messages into four categories,namely,confirmed deaths,recovered,and suspected.For the experimental analysis,the tweet data on the COVID-19 pandemic are analyzed to evaluate the results of traditional machine learning approaches.A benchmark dataset for COVID-19 on Twitter messages is developed and can be used for future research studies.The experiments show that the results of the proposed approach are promising in detecting the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter messages with overall accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score between 70%and 80%and the confusion matrix for machine learning approaches(i.e.,SVM,NB,LR,RF,and DT)with the TF-IDF feature extraction technique. | Samina Amin M.Irfan Uddin Heyam H.Al-Baity M.Ali Zeb M.Abrar Khan | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,8: | 1 |

| 10 | Removal of organic pollutants by lanthanide-doped MIL-53(Fe) metal-organic frameworks:Effect of dopant type in magnetite precursor显示文摘A series of undoped and lanthanide doped MIL-53(Fe)/Ln-Fe_(3)O_(4)(Ln=La,Nd,or Gd) metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) were prepared by the solvothermal method.All prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) measurements,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and thermal analysis.XRD and FT-IR results ascertain the successful MOF formation for all prepared samples.MIL-53(Fe)/La-Fe_(3)O_(4) has the smallest particle size of 8.6 nm,the largest BET surface area of 54.2 m^(2)/g,and the highest porosity.Undoped and different lanthanide doped MIL-53(Fe) we re employed as sorbents for the removal of methylene blue(MB)dye from aqueous solutions to examine the doping benefit and the effect of the dopant size on the sorption performance.Doping causes MOFs to act as pH-independent sorbents,which make it applicable at any condition.Adsorption follows pseudo-second-order kinetic model,and doped sorbents attain equilibrium faster.Langmuir isotherms are followed,except for MIL-53(Fe)/La-Fe_(3)O_(4).The adsorption capacity increases with increasing the dopant ion size,100.5 mg/g for La-doped MOF,which is about four times higher than that of undoped MOF.The adsorption mechanism involves chemical interactions between Lewis acid in magnetite MIL-53(Fe) series and Lewis base in MB. | Shimaa M.Ali Khadija M.Emran Fedaa M.M.Alrashedee | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Hypolipidemic effect of coffee silver skin in rats fed a high-fat diet显示文摘The present study was conducted to evaluate the hypolipidemic effects of coffee silver skin(CSS)supplementation in rats fed a highfat diet(HFD).A total of 40 albino rats were used in the present study.The groups were as follows:Rats fed a normal diet,N group;high fat diet,HFD group;high fat diet+10%CSS,HFD 10;HFD+15%CSS,HFD 15;HFD+20%CSS,HFD 20;the diets were followed for 8 weeks.Blood samples were collected at the end of the experiment.At the time of sacrifice,the weights of heart,liver,kidneys,epididymal fat and retroperitoneal fat of the experimental rats with respect to body weight were recorded.The lipid parameter of the serum was recorded and liver and kidney function tests were conducted.Finally,a histopathological assay was performed on the liver and kidney tissues of the rats fed the tested diets.The weight gain of the rats fed a HFD supplemented with 10,15 and 20%CSS was∼1.05,1.08 and 1.12 times lower than that of those rats fed HFD,respectively.The incorporation of CSS at a level of 20%reduced the increase in liver,kidney,epididymal fat and retroperitoneal fat weight by 17.84,19.38,47.23 and 18.00%,respectively,compared with HFD alone.HFD administration induced considerable increases in alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase activities compared with the control group.The results also indicated that the HFD-fed rats exhibited increased levels of urea,uric acid and creatinine,by∼26.38,8.40 and 6.75%,respectively,compared with the control rats.With the exception of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,all lipid fractions increased significantly in rats fed a HFD.The administration of a HFD induced marked pathological changes in the liver and kidneys of the rats.However,the incorporation of various levels of CSS in to a HFD reduced these changes.The results of the present study illustrate that the incorporation of CSS into HFDs reduces the hyperlipidemia effect of these diets. | Ayman Mohammed El-Anany Rehab Farouk M.Ali | 2018 | Food Science and Human Wellness2018,7,4: | 1 |
