Surface Water and Groundwater Interactions in Wetlands显示文摘Wetland ecosystems are critical habitats for various types of wild lives and are important components of global ecosystem. However, with climate change and human activities, wetlands are facing with degradation. Surface water and groundwater(SW-GW) interactions play an essential role in matter and energy cycling in wetlands, and therefore affect the evolution and health of wetlands. But the role of groundwater in wetland ecosystems has been neglected or simplified. In this paper, we reviewed how surface water interacts with groundwater, and made a systematic summarization of the role of SW-GW interactions(such as maintaining water balance and biological diversity and removing pollution) in wetland ecological functions. We also reviewed the methods to investigate, simulate and quantify SW-GW interactions and related reactions. Finally, we illustrated how climate change and human activities affect SW-GW interactions and therefore affect wetland functions. We highlight the importance of groundwater in wetlands and the urgency to intensify the research in integrated multidisciplinary monitoring and simulation methods, dominant variables and thresholds and integrated water resources management of SW-GW interactions, and further aim to stimulate better protection and restoration of wetlands all over the world. | Xiancang Wu Teng Ma Yanxin Wang | 2020 | Journal of Earth Science2020,31,5: | 6
Effect of ziprasidone on QTc interval in Chinese patients with schizophrenia显示文摘Objective: To investigate the effect of ziprasidone on QTc in Chinese patients with schizophrenia. Methods: The study involved 27 patients with schizophrenia. Ziprasidone was initiated with 40 mg/day. From day 3 to day 7, the dose was increased gradually to 120-160 mg/d according to the effectiveness and tolerability. QTc values were measured at the beginning and month 6. Results: At the beginning of the 6 months treatment, the mean QTc interval of patients was(387.5±19.0) ms. At the end of the study, it was(402.9±23.6) ms. The difference has statistically significance(P<0.05). The mean QTc interval changed significantly throughout 6-months period but no one exceed the QTc dangerous limits. Significant correlation was found between QTc interval and the dose. Conclusion: In summary, our results suggest that ziprasidone has good tolerance in patient with schizophrenia despite its dose-related QTc prolongation. Ziprasidone have no pro-arrhythmic profile. | YANG Xiaobo YUAN Zuyi CAO Hongmei MA Xiancang | 2013 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2013,28,6: | 4
The cost of obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD) in China: a multi- center cross- sectional survey based on hospitals显示文摘Background Obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD)is considered a very debilitating disorder with severe loss of quality of life and income.Aims This study estimates the quality of life and economic consequences of OCD in China. Methods The research team interviewed 639 patients with OCD in 13 hospitals in 12 cities in China. The direct method was used to get the direct cost of OCD.Indirect costs associated with OCD were estimated using the human capital approach.Linear regression analysis was conducted for quality of life and generalised linear model analysis was conducted for total cost.Sensitivity analysis was used to analyse the uncertainty of total cost. Results The mean quality of life score for OCD was 52.78(20.46).The annual total cost of OCD per capita was 24503.78(95%CI:22621.53 to 26386.03)renminbi(RMB)(US$3465.88(95%CI:US$3199.65 to US$3732.11)).The annual cost of OCD in China was estimated to be 37.74 billion(95%CI:34.95 billion to 40.53 billion)RMB(equal to US$5.34 billion(95%CI:US$4.94 billion to US$5.73 billion)).Sensitivity analysis showed that the total annual cost of OCD in China was between 23.15 billion RMB(US$3.27 billion)and 370.00 billion RMB(US$52.33 billion).Worse social function status, more psychiatric symptoms and higher Yale Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale(Y-BOCS)score were associated with worse quality of life. The numbers of clinic visits and hospitalisations, socioeconomic status,education,Y-BOCS scores and age were found to be significantly associated with total cost. Conclusions OCD is associated with low quality of life and high costs in China. The findings call for concerted efforts to improve services for patients with OCD.Improvements may include early detection and diagnosis, the provision of evidence-based treatments and relapse prevention strategies. | Weili Yang Zhen Tang Xijin Wang Xiancang Ma Yuqi Cheng Bin Wang Ping Sun Wenxin Tang Jia Luo Changhong Wang Ping Li Guiyun Xu Jun Yan Vlasios Brakoulias Zhen Wang | 2021 | General Psychiatry2021,34,6: | 3
TNF-α,IL-6 and hs CRP in patients with melancholic, atypical and anxious depression:an antibodyyarrayanalysis related to somatic symptoms显示文摘Background The association between inflammation and major depressive disorder(MDD)remains poorly understood, given the heterogeneity of patients with MDD.Aims We investigated inflammatory markers, such as interleukin(IL)-6,high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hsCRP)and tumour necrosis factor-α.(TNF-α)in melancholic, atypical and anxious depression and explored whether baseline inflammatory protein levels could indicate prognosis. Methods The sample consisted of participants(aged 18-55 years)from a previously reported multicentre randomised controlled trial with a parallel-group design registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,including melancholic(n=44),atypical(n=37)and anxious(n=44)patients with depression and healthy controls(HCs)(n=33).Subtypes of MDD were classified according to the 30-item Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology,Self-Rated Version and the.17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale.Blood levels.of TNF-α,IL-6 and hsCRP were assessed using antibody array analysis. Results Patients with MDD,classified according to melancholic, atypical and anxious depression subtypes, and HCs did not differ significantly in baseline TNF-α,IL-6 and hsCRP levels after adjustment. In patients with anxious depression,hsCRP levels increased significantly if they experienced no pain(adjusted(adj.)p=0.010)or mild to moderate pain(adj.p=0.038)compared with those with severe pain. However, the patients with anxious depression and severe pain showed a lower trend in hsCRP levels than patients with atypical depression who experienced severe pain(p=0.022;adj.p=0.155).Baseline TNF-α(adj.p=0.038)and IL-6(adj.p=0.006)levels in patients in remission were significantly lower than those in patients with no remission among the participants with the atypical depression subtype at the eighth-week follow-up.Conclusions This study provides evidence of differences in inflammatory proteins in patients with varied symptoms among melancholic, atypical and anxious depression subtypes.Further studies on the immunoinflammatory mechanism underlying different subtypes of depression are expected for improved individualised therapy. | Hongmei Liu Xiaohui Wu Yun Wang Xiaohua Liu Daihui Peng Yan Wu Jun Chen Yun-Ai Su Jia Xu Xiancang Ma Yi Li Jianfei Shi Xiaodong Yang Han Rong Marta Di Forti Yiru Fang | 2022 | General Psychiatry2022,35,5: | 1
Role of ghrelin in cognitive impairment of hypertensive elders with chronic psychological distress显示文摘Objective:To investigate ghrelin level change in combination with psychological stress in the hypertensive old people with cognitive impairment and to explore its effect as well as possible mechanism. Methods:The study population of 300 elders was divided into 2 groups,148 with hypertension and 152 non-hypertension,who were screened for psychological distress and cognition function, and had blood drawn to measure plasma levels of ghrelin and total cortisol on the same day. Results:The rates of anxiety and cognitive impairment were higher in the hypertension elders, which were negatively correlated with plasma ghrelin level, resulted from chronic cortisol response to anxiety. Conclusion:Chronic plasma cortisol increase to long-term anxiety leads a reduce in ghrelin level which then adversely affects blood pressure and cognitive function in old people. So measuring ghrelin of elders may be a diagnostic tool to predict cognitive development and ghrelin may be a selective antihypertensive medicine for cognitive impairment elders with or without chronic psychological stress. | Zhang Yushun Fan Fenling Tian Hongyan Feng Jun Ma Xiancang Liu Yamin Hu Zhi Zhang Junbo Ma Yexin | 2010 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2010,25,3: | 0
