1A proposed surface resistance model for the Penman-Monteith formula to estimate evapotranspiration in a solar greenhouse显示文摘Greenhousing is a technique to bridge season gap in vegetable production and has been widely used worldwide. Calculation of water requirement of crops grown in greenhouse and determination of their irrigation schedules in arid and semi-arid regions are essential for greenhouse maintenance and have thus attracted increased attention over the past decades. The most common method used in the literature to estimate crop evapotranspiration(ET) is the Penman-Monteith(PM) formula. When applied to greenhouse, however, it often uses canopy resistance instead of surface resistance. It is understood that the surface resistance in greenhouse is the result of a combined effect of canopy restriction and soil-surface restriction to water vapor flow, and the relative dominance of one restriction over another depends on crop canopy. In this paper, we developed a surface resistance model in a way similar to two parallel resistances in an electrical circuit to account for both restrictions. Also, considering that wind speed in greenhouse is normally rather small, we compared three methods available in the literature to calculate the aerodynamic resistance, which are the r_a^1 method proposed by Perrier(1975a, b), the r_a^2 method proposed by Thom and Oliver(1977), and the r_a^3 method proposed by Zhang and Lemeu(1992). We validated the model against ET of tomatoes in a greenhouse measured from sap flow system combined with micro-lysimeter in 2015 and with weighing lysimeter in 2016. The results showed that the proposed surface resistance model improved the accuracy of the PM model, especially when the leaf area index was low and the greenhouse was being irrigated. We also found that the aerodynamic resistance calculated from the r_a^1 and r_a^3 methods is applicable to the greenhouse although the latter is slightly more accurate than the former. 2Combined genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic an alyses provide in sights into chayote (Sechium edule) evolution and fruit development显示文摘Chayote(Sechium edule)is an agricultural crop in the Cucurbitaceae family that is rich in bioactive components.To enhance genetic research on chayote,we used Nanopore third-generation sequencing combined with Hi-C data to assemble a draft chayote genome.A chromosome-level assembly anchored on 14 chromosomes(N50 contig and scaffold sizes of 8.40 and 46.56 Mb,respectively)estimated the genome size as 606.42 Mb,which is large for the Cucurbitaceae,with 65.94%(401.08 Mb)ofthe genome comprising repetitive sequences;28,237 protein-coding genes were predicted.Comparative genome analysis indicated that chayote and snake gourd diverged from sponge gourd and that a whole-genome duplication(WGD)event occurred in chayote at 25±4 Mya.Transcriptional and metabolic analysis revealed genes involved in fruit texture,pigment,fl avor,fl avonoids,antioxidants,and plant hormones during chayote fruit development.The analysis of the genome,transcriptome,and metabolome provides insights into chayote evolution and lays the groundwork for future research on fruit and tuber development and genetic improvements in chayote.Anzhen Fu Qing Wang Jianlou Mu Lili Ma Changlong Wen Xiaoyan Zhao Lipu Gao Jian Li Kai Shi Yunxiang Wang Xuechuan Zhang Xuewen Zhang Fengling Wang Donald Grierson Jinhua Zuo 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:6
3Adaptive Proportional-Derivative Sliding Mode Control Law With Improved Transient Performance for Underactuated Overhead Crane Systems显示文摘In this paper, an adaptive proportional-derivative sliding mode control(APD-SMC) law, is proposed for 2D underactuated overhead crane systems. The proposed controller has the advantages of simple structure, easy to implement of PD control, strong robustness of SMC with respect to external disturbances and uncertain system parameters, and adaptation for unknown system dynamics associated with the feedforward parts. In the proposed APD-SMC law, the PD control part is used to stabilize the controlled system, the SMC part is used to compensate the external disturbances and system uncertainties,and the adaptive control part is utilized to estimate the unknown system parameters. The coupling behavior between the trolley movement and the payload swing is enhanced and, therefore, the transient performance of the proposed controller is improved.The Lyapunov techniques and the La Salle's invariance theorem are employed in to support the theoretical derivations. 4The calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II inhibitor KN-93 protects rat cerebral cortical neurons from N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury显示文摘In this study, primary cultured cerebral cortical neurons of Sprague-Dawley neonatal rats were treated with 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 μM calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II inhibitor KN-93 after 50 μM N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury. Results showed that, compared with N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury neurons, the activity of cells markedly increased, apoptosis was significantly reduced, leakage of lactate dehydrogenase decreased, and intracellular Ca(2+) concentrations in neurons reduced after KN-93 treatment. The expression of caspase-3, phosphorylated calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II and total calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II protein decreased after KN-93 treatment. And the effect was apparent at a dose of 1.0 μM KN-93. 5The genome and transcriptome analysis of snake gourd provide insights into its evolution and fruit development and ripening显示文摘Snake gourd(Trichosanthes anguina L.),which belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family,is a popular ornamental and food crop species with medicinal value and is grown in many parts of the world.Although progress has been made in its genetic improvement,the organization,composition,and evolution of the snake gourd genome remain largely unknown.Here,we report a high-quality genome assembly for snake gourd,comprising 202 contigs,with a total size of 919.8 Mb and an N50 size of 20.1 Mb.These findings indicate that snake gourd has one of the largest genomes of Cucurbitaceae species sequenced to date.The snake gourd genome assembly harbors 22,874 protein-coding genes and 80.0%of the genome consists of repetitive sequences.Phylogenetic analysis reveals that snake gourd is closely related to sponge gourd but diverged from their common ancestor~33–47 million years ago.The genome sequence reported here serves as a valuable resource for snake gourd genetic research and comparative genomic studies in Cucurbitaceae and other plant species.In addition,fruit transcriptome analysis reveals the candidate genes related to quality traits during snake gourd fruit development and provides a basis for future research on snake gourd fruit development and ripening at the transcript level.Lili Ma Qing Wang Jianlou Mu Anzhen Fu Changlong Wen Xiaoyan Zhao Lipu Gao Jian Li Kai Shi Yunxiang Wang Xuewen Zhang Xuechuan Zhang Zhangjun Fei Donald Grierson Jinhua Zuo 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

9Experimental and CFD investigation of flow behavior and sand erosion pattern in a horizontal pipe bend under annular flow显示文摘The internal erosion of pipelines in oil and gas storage and transportation engineering is highly risky.High gas velocity of annular flow entrained sand will cause damage to the pipelines,and may further result in thinning of the wall.If this damage lasts for a long time,it may cause pipeline leakage and cause huge economic losses and environmental problems.In this research,an experimental device for studying multiphase flow erosion is designed,including an erosion loop and an experimental elbow that can test the erosion rate.The annular flow state and pipe wall erosion morphology can also be tested by the device.The computational fluid dynamics(CFD)method is combined with the experiment to further study the annular flow erosion mechanism in the pipeline.The relationship between gas-liquid-solid distribution and erosion profile was studied.The results show that the most eroded region occurs be-tween 22.5° and 45° in the axial angle direction and between 90° and 135° in the circumferential angle direction of the elbow.The pits and deep scratches form on the surface of the sample after the sand collision.Wenshan Peng Li Ma Ping Wang Xuewen Cao Kun Xu Yichun Miao 2023Particuology2023,,4:1

11Impact of MELD score in predicting short-term survival after primary liver transplantation显示文摘Objective: To study the efficacy of model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) in predicting short-term outcomes in patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT). Methods: The consecutive 62 patients who had received primary LT in our hospital from November 2000 to January 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. The pretransplantation MELD and Child-Turcotte-Pugh (CTP) scores of these patients were calculated. Concordance c-statistic was used to assess the efficacies of MELD and CTP scores in predicting the first posttransplantation 3-month survival rate. Results: Among the 62 patients receiving primary LT, 12 died during the first 3-month period and the posttransplantation 3-month survival rate was 80.65%. The 3-month survival rate predicted by using CTP score and MELD score was 0.685 and 0.873, respectively. Unlike CTP calssification, MELD score indentified two subgroups of patients with CTP C with different overall survival (0.8824 vs 0.4545, χ2=7.00, P=0.0081). 13Boosting hydrogen peroxide production via establishment and reconstruction of single-metal sites in covalent organic frameworks显示文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have been well developed in electrocatalytic systems owing to their controllable skeletons,porosities,and functions.However,the catalytic process in COFs remains underexplored,hindering an in-depth understanding of the catalytic mechanism.In this work,uniform Pt-N_(1)O_(1)Cl_(4)sites chelated via C-N and C=O bonds along the one-dimensional and open channels of TP-TTA-COF were established.Different from conventional single-metal sites constructed for the near-free platinum for hydrogen evolution,the as-constructed PtCl-COF showed 2e−oxygen reduction for H_(2)O_(2)production.We tracked the dynamic evolution process of atomic Pt sites in which Pt-N_(1)O_(1)Cl_(4)was transformed into Pt-N_(1)O_(1)(OH)_(2)using in situ X-ray adsorption.The theoretical calculations revealed that the strong Pt-support interaction in Pt-N_(1)O_(1)(OH)_(2)facilitated*OOH formation and thus led to higher selectivity and activity for the oxygen reduction reaction in the 2e−pathway.This work can expand the applications of COFs through the regulation of their local electronic states for the manipulation of the metal center.Shuai Yang Lanlu Lu Ji Li Qingqing Cheng Bingbao Mei Xuewen Li Jianing Mao Panzhe Qiao Fanfei Sun Jingyuan Ma Qing Xu Zheng Jiang 2023SusMat2023,3,3:0
14Observation of room‐temperature out‐of‐plane switchable electric polarization in supported 3R‐MoS_(2) monolayers显示文摘Two‐dimensional(2D)ferroelectrics have attracted considerable attention due to their potential in the development of devices of miniaturization and multifunction.Although several van der Waals(vdW)‐layered materials show ferroelectricity,the experimental demonstrations of ferroelectric behavior in monolayers are very limited.Here we report the observation of room‐temperature out‐of‐plane switchable electric polarization in supported MoS_(2) monolayers exfoliated from 3R‐stacked bulk crystals under ambient conditions.Using in situ piezoelectric force microscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy in a glovebox,we reveal that trapped water/ice molecules are responsible for this switchable electric polarization and this conclusion is strongly supported by theoretical simulations.It is worth noting that the water/ice trapping in the monolayers exfoliated from 2H‐stacked MoS_(2) crystals is not as much as that in 3R monolayers and,consequently,the out‐of‐plane electric polarization is missing there.Our findings indicate that monolayers with a trapped single layer of polar molecules might be emerging alternatives to 2D ferroelectrics.Furthermore,the stacking sequences may bring new properties and applications to 2D vdW materials not only when we stack them up but also when we thin them down.Li Ma Liu Yang Yuqiang Fang Manzhang Xu Ruihuan Duan Vanessa Li Zhang Xuewen Wang Fuqiang Huang Menghao Wu Zheng Liu Ting Yu 2023SmartMat2023,4,2:0
