1Development of Wistar rat model of insulin resistance显示文摘AIM: To establish a simplified and reliable animal model of insulin resistance with low cost in Wistar rats. METHODS: Wistar rats were treated with a high fat emulsion by ig for 10 d. Changes of the diets, drinking and body weight were monitored every day and insulin resistance was evaluated by hyperinsulinemic-euglycemicclamp techniques and short insulin tolerance test using capillary blood glucose. Morphologic changes of liver, fat, skeletal muscles, and pancreatic islets were assessed under light microscope. mRNA expressions of GLUT2 and α-glucosidase in small intestine epithelium, GLUT4 in skeletal muscles and Kir6.2 in beta cell of islets were determined by in situ hybridization.RESULTS: KITT was smaller in treated animals (4.5±0.9)than in untreated control Wistar rats (6.8±1.5), and so was glucose injection rate. Both adipocyte hypertrophy and large pancreatic islets were seen in high fat fed rats,but no changes of skeletal muscles and livers wereobserved. mRNA levels of GLUT2, α-glucosidase in small intestinal epithelium and Kir6.2 mRNA in beta cells of islets increased, whereas that of GLUT4 in skeletal muscles decreased in high fat fed group compared with normal control group.CONCLUSION: An insulin resistance animal model in Wistar rats is established by ig special fat emulsion.JingAi NingWang MeiYang Zhi-MinDu Yong-ChunZhang Bao-FengYang 2005World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,24:6
2Nitrogen Deep Placement Combined with Straw Mulch Cultivation Enhances Physiological Traits,Grain Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency in Mechanical Pot-Seedling Transplanting Rice显示文摘To assess the effects of straw return coupled with deep nitrogen(N)fertilization on grain yield and N use efficiency(NUE)in mechanical pot-seedling transplanting(MPST)rice,the seedlings of two rice cultivars,i.e.,Yuxiangyouzhan and Wufengyou 615 transplanted by MPST were applied with N fertilizer at 150 kg/hm2 and straw return at 6 t/hm2 in early seasons of 2019 and 2020.The experiment comprised of following treatments:CK(no fertilizer and no straw return),MDS(deep N fertilization and straw return),MBS(broadcasting fertilizer and straw return),MD(deep N fertilization without straw return),MB(broadcasting fertilizer without straw return).Results depicted that the MDS treatment significantly increased the rice yield by 41.69%-72.22%due to total above-ground biomass,leaf area index and photosynthesis increased by 54.70%-55.80%,38.52%-52.17%and 17.89%-28.40%,respectively,compared to the MB treatment.In addition,the MDS treatment enhanced the total N accumulation by 37.74%-43.69%,N recovery efficiency by 141.45%-164.65%,N agronomic efficiency by 121.76%-134.19%,nitrate reductase by 46.46%-60.86%and glutamine synthetase by 23.56%-31.02%,compared to the MB treatment.The average grain yield and NUE in both years for Yuxiangyouzhan were higher in the MDS treatment than in the MD treatment.Hence,deep N fertilization combined with straw return can be an innovative technique with improved grain yield and NUE in MPST in South China.LI Lin ZHANG Zheng TIAN Hua Umair ASHRAF Yousef Alhaj HAMOUD Al Aasmi ALAA TANG Xiangru DUAN Meiyang WANG Zaiman PAN Shenggang 2022Rice science2022,29,1:5
3Deep placement of nitrogen fertilizer increases rice yield and nitrogen use efficiency with fewer greenhouse gas emissions in a mechanical direct-seeded cropping system显示文摘Deep placement of nitrogen fertilizer is a key strategy for improving nitrogen use efficiency. A two-year field experiment was conducted during the early rice growing seasons(March–July) of 2016 and 2017.The experimental treatments comprised two rice cultivars: Wufengyou 615(WFY 615) and Yuxiangyouzhan(YXYZ), and three N treatments: mechanical deep placement of all fertilizers as basal dose at 10 cm soil depth(one-time deep-placement fertilization, namely OTDP fertilization);manual surface broadcast(the common farmer practice) of 40% N fertilizer at one day before sowing(basal fertilizer)followed by broadcast application of 30% each at tillering and panicle initiation stages;and no fertilizer application at any growth stage as a control. One-time deep-placement fertilization increased grain yield of both rice cultivars by 11.8%–19.6%, total nitrogen accumulation by 10.3%–13.1%, nitrogen grain production efficiency by 29.7%–31.5%, nitrogen harvest index by 27.8%–30.0%, nitrogen agronomic efficiency by 71.3%–77.2%, and nitrogen recovery efficiency by 42.4%–56.7% for both rice cultivars, compared with the multiple-broadcast treatment. One-time deep-placement fertilization reduced CH4-induced global warming potential(GWP) by 20.7%–25.3%, N2O-induced GWP by 7.2%–12.3%, and total GWP by 14.7%–22.9% for both rice cultivars relative to the multiple-broadcast treatment. The activities of glutamine synthetase and nitrate reductase were increased at both panicle-initiation and heading stages in both rice cultivars following one-time deep-placement fertilization treatment. Larger leaf area index at heading stage and more favorable root morphological traits expressed as larger total root length, mean root diameter, and total root volume per hill were also observed. 7Insights into the synergistic promotion of spin polarization over C_(3)N_(5.4) for enhancing cooperative hydrogen evolution and benzylamine oxidation coupling显示文摘Polymers are usually restricted on the high exciton binding energies and sluggish electron transfer because of the low dielectric constants.Regulating spin-polarized electrons is regarded as an attractive strategy,but often confined to the d-orbital elements.Here,the nonmetal P and N elements co-mediated the spin polarization of carbon nitrides(PCN)have been elaborately designed.The optimized PCN-3 shows an outstanding hydrogen production(22.2 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1))coupled with selective benzylamine oxidation without using any solvent and cocatalysts,which is 200 times of original C_(3)N_(4)and superior to the photocatalysts has been reported to date.Experimental and theoretical results verified that the spin-orbital coupling of N 2p and P 2p remarkably increased the parallel spin states of charge and reduced the formation of singlet excitons to accelerate exciton dissociation in carbon nitride.In addition,charge separation and surface catalysis can be significantly enhanced by the electron spin polarization of carbon nitride with the parallel arrangement,huge built-in electric field and disturbed electronic structure.Our finding deepens the insight into the charge separation and exciton dissociation in spin polarization,and offers new tactics to develop high-efficiency catalysts.Qiuchen Wang Xiaoxu Deng Haiyan Pen Fei Liu Meiyang Song Peng Chen Shuang-Feng Yin 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
8Theoretical Studies of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Parameters for Cr^4+ Ions in Ca2GeO4 Crystals显示文摘The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) parameters (zero-field splitting D and g factors g‖, g ) of Cr4+ions in Ca2 GeO4 crystals have been calculated from the complete high-order perturbation formulas of EPR parameters for a 3d2 ion in trigonal MX4 clusters. In these formulas, in addition to the contributions to EPR parameters from the widely used crystal-field (CF) mechanism, the contributions from the charge-transfer (CT) mechanism (which are often neglected) are included. 9Enhancement of Ultrasonic Seed Treatment on Yield,Grain Quality Characters,and 2-Acetyl-1-Pyrroline Biosynthesis in Different Fragrant Rice Genotypes显示文摘Fragrant rice is popular for the good grain quality and special aroma.The present study conducted a field experiment to investigate the effects of ultrasonic seed treatment on grain yield,quality characters,physiological properties and aroma biosynthesis of different fragrant rice genotypes.The seeds of three fragrant rice genotypes were exposed to 1 min of ultrasonic vibration and then cultivated in paddy field.The results of present study showed that ultrasonic seed treatment increased grain yield of all fragrant rice genotypes but the responses of yield formation to ultrasonic were varied with different genotypes.Compared with control,ultrasonic seed treatment increased grain 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline(2-AP,the key component of fragrant rice aroma)content by 13.40%–44.88%.Ultrasonic seed treatment also reduced the crude protein contents in grains.The head rice rate,rice length,chalky rice rate,and chalkiness degree were influenced by ultrasonic for one or two fragrant rice genotypes.The activities of peroxidase and superoxide dismutase were also enhanced due to ultrasonic seed treatment.In conclusion,ultrasonic seed treatment increased grain,regulated grain aroma and quality,and improved stress resistance of fragrant rice varieties.Rujian Lan Meiyang Duan Feida Wu Rifang Lai Zhaowen Mo Shenggang Pan Xiangru Tang 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,11:0
10Insights into spin polarization regulated exciton dissociation and charge separation of C_(3)N_(4)for efficient hydrogen evolution and simultaneous benzylamine oxidation显示文摘The employment of spin polarization under an external magnetic field holds great potential for the improvements of photocatalytic performance.However,owing to the huge difference in dielectric properties between ferromagnetic oxide and polymers,the photogenerated excitons with spin states are often limited to the ferromagnetic oxide wells,which leads to unsatisfactory activity.In this paper,a single-atom Co-doped C_(3)N_(4)photocatalyst is successfully synthesized for photocatalytic water splitting and simultaneous oxidation of benzylamine.Under a tiny external magnetic field(24.5 mT),the hydrogen production rate could reach at 3979.0μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1),which is about 340 times that of C_(3)N_(4).Experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the interaction of Co d and N p orbital changes the symmetry center of C_(3)N_(4),resulting in an increase in dielectric constant and spin polarization.Moreover,magnetic fields further promote parallel electron spin,and the increased number of charges with the parallel spin-down state is likely to dissociate under the action of an external magnetic field.On the other hand,the Co-N bond provides a huge built-in electric field and active site for strengthening the charge transfer and surface reaction.This work not only deepens the understanding of spin polarization,but also enriches methods to accelerate electron-hole separation.Gen Li Xiaomei Sun Peng Chen Meiyang Song Tianxiang Zhao Fei Liu Shuang-Feng Yin 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
