| 2 | Effect of inclined ribs on heat transfer coefficient in stationary square channel显示文摘The main objective of this research is to study the effect of rib arrangement on the distributions of the local heat transfer coefficient in a stationary channel. In this study, the ribs with square cross section were used to place on two side walls for study. The rib height-to-hydraulic diameter ratio(e/Dh) and the rib pitchto-height(p/e) ratio were fixed at 0.133 and 10, respectively. Three different types of rib arrangement for inclined ribs, V-shaped ribs and inverted V-shaped ribs were investigated. The rib angle of attack(α)was varied from 30?to 90?for inclined ribs and 45?and 60?for both V-shaped and inverted V-shaped ribs, and compared at constant Reynolds number Re =30000. Thermal Liquid Crystal sheet was applied for evaluating the heat transfer distributions. | 6 | Synthesis and catalytic performance of bimetallic NiMo-and NiW-ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites for production of liquid biofuels显示文摘This work presents a synthesis of bimetallic NiMo and NiW modified ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites and their heterogeneous catalytic conversion of crude palm oil( CPO) to biofuels. The ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites were synthesized through a self-assembly of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide( CTAB) surfactant with silica-alumina from ZSM-5 zeolite,prepared from natural kaolin by the hydrothermal technique. Subsequently,the synthesized composites were deposited with bimetallic NiMo and NiW by impregnation method. The obtained catalysts presented a micro-mesoporous structure,confirmed by XRD,SEM,TEM,EDX,NH_3-TPD,XRF and N_2 adsorption-desorption measurements. The results of CPO conversion demonstrate that the catalytic activity of the synthesized catalysts decreases in the series of NiMo-ZSM-5/MCM-41 > NiW-ZSM-5/MCM-41 > Ni-ZSM-5/MCM-41 > Mo-ZSM-5/MCM-41 > W-ZSM-5/MCM-41 > NiMo-ZSM-5 > NiW-ZSM-5 > ZSM-5/MCM-41 > ZSM-5 > MCM-41. It was found that the bimetallic NiMo-and NiW-ZSM-5/MCM-41 catalysts give higher yields of liquid hydrocarbons than other catalysts at a given conversion. Types of hydrocarbon in liquid products,identified by simulated distillation gas chromatography-flame ionization detector( SimDis GC-FID),are gasoline( 150-200 ℃; C5-12),kerosene( 250-300 ℃; C5-20) and diesel( 350 ℃; C7-20).Moreover,the conversion of CPO to biofuel products using the NiMo-and NiW-ZSM-5/MCM-41 catalysts offers no statistically significant difference( P> 0.05) at 95% confidence level,evaluated by SPSS analysis. | Maliwan Subsadsana Pitsanuphong Kham-or Pakpoom Sangdara Pirom Suwannasom Chalerm Ruangviriyachai | 2017 | 燃料化学学报2017，45，7： | 0 |
| 7 | Warburg effect mimicking inborn errors of metabolism in childhood hematologic malignancies:A case-based systematic review显示文摘BACKGROUND Type B lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia can occur in various pediatric conditions.In young children with a history of fasting preceding these metabolic derangements,inborn errors of metabolism should be primarily considered.However,the Warburg effect,a rare metabolic complication,can also manifest in children with hematologic malignancies.Only a few reports of this condition in children have been published in the literature.AIM To identify the clinical course,treatment strategies,and outcomes of childhood hematologic malignancies with type B lactic acidosis.METHODS We performed a comprehensive search of the PubMed,Scopus,and Cochrane databases without any time restriction but limited to English language articles.The databases were last accessed on July 1st,2023.RESULTS A total of 20 publications were included in the analysis,all of which were case reports or case series.No higher quality evidence was available.Among children with hematologic malignancies and Warburg effect,there were 14 cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and 6 cases of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma including our illustrative case.Lactic acidosis occurred in 55%of newly diagnosed cases and 45%of relapsed cases.The mean age was 10.3±4.5 years,and 80%of cases were male.The mean serum lactate was 16.9±12.6 mmol/L,and 43.8%of the cases had concomitant hypoglycemia.Lactic acidosis initially subsided in 80%of patients receiving chemotherapy compared to 60%in the contrast group.The mortality rate of newly diagnosed cases was 45.5%,while the relapsed cases represented a 100%mortality rate.All 8 patients reported before 2001 died from disease-related complications.However,patients described in reports published between 2003 and 2023 had a 54.5%rate of complete remission.CONCLUSION This complication has historically led to fatal outcome;however,patients who received chemotherapy showed a more favorable response.Therefore,it is crucial to promptly initiate specific treatment in this context. | Khanittha Permtawee Maliwan Tengsujaritkul Chane Choed-Amphai Supapitch Chanthong Kanittha Mankhemthong Lalita Sathitsamitphong Rungrote Natesirinilkul Pimlak Charoenkwan | 2023 | World Journal of Clinical Pediatrics2023，12，5： | 0 |
| 8 | Development of Environmentally Friendly and Energy Efficient Refrigerants for Refrigeration Systems显示文摘This paper presents the improvement of eco-friendly and power consumption saving refrigerants for refrigeration systems.The novel azeotropic refrigerant mixtures of HFCs and HCs can replace refrigeration systems,and using the R134,R32,R125,and R1270 refrigerants in several compositions found using the decision tree function of the RapidMiner software(which camefirst in the KDnuggets annual software poll).All refrigerant results are mixed of POE,which is A1 classification refrigerant,non-flammable,and innocuous refrigerant,and using REFPROP software and CYCLE_D-HX software are under the CAN/ANSI/AHRI540 standards.The boiling point of the new refrigerant mix R-No.595 is 4.58%,lower than that of R404A,with a higher refrigerant effect and 50.34%lower GWP value than R404A.The proposed mix R-No.595 can be operated in hot environmental country and has high critical temperature and heat-rejection effects,due to the presence of R32 and R1270.The COPc of R463A is 13.49%,higher than R404A in freeze condition.The novel refrigerant mixes provide alternate refrig-erant options mixed of 1%R1270,and which are related with the development of current refrigerants,containing a compose of HFOs and eco refrigerants for producing low-GWP,zero ODP,high-refrigerant effect,low-operating pressure,and innocuous refrigerants. | Piyanut Saengsikhiao Juntakan Taweekun Kittinan Maliwan Somchai Sae-ung Thanansak Theppaya | 2021 | Energy Engineering2021，118，2： | 0 |
| 9 | Predictors of Health-Related Quality of Life in Children with Cyanotic Heart Disease Who Underwent Palliative and Total Repair显示文摘Background:Studies on predictors of health-related quality of life(HRQOL)in pediatric patients with cyanotic heart disease who are waiting for the next stage and those who have undergone total repair are scarce.Therefore,we aimed to identify such predictors in children who received the modified Blalock–Taussig shunt(MBTS)and those who underwent total repair.Methods:In this historical cohort and concurrent follow-up study,data of children who underwent MBTS at the age of 0–3 years between January 2005 and December 2016 at a super-tertiary care hospital in Southern Thailand were obtained.Children who were alive in December 2017 were recruited to evaluate the quality of life at least 1 year after their operation.Between January and December 2018,the“Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 Generic Core Scales”with both child self-report and parent proxy-report scores were used to examine the HRQOL.Multivariate linear regression analysis was performed to identify independent predictors of HRQOL.Beta-coefficient(β)and 95% confidence intervals(95%CIs)were calculated and considered statistically significant at p<0.05.Results:Among the 380 enrolled children,148 died,122 survived and waited for total repair,and 110 survived after total repair.In the multivariate analysis,chronic lung disease was a common predictor of lower physical and psychosocial HRQOL reported by the parents(β[95%CI]:−0.42[−0.81,−0.03]and−0.49[−0.89,−0.09],respectively).Total repair was a predictor of higher physical HRQOL according to both parents and children(β[95%CI]:0.33[0.09,0.57]and 0.70[0.36,1.03],respectively).A predictor of higher psychosocial HRQOL reported by the parents was younger age during MBTS surgery compared with older age(β[95%CI]:0.012[0.001,0.022]).In the total repair subgroup,undergoing the Fontan procedure(vs.Glenn procedure)was a predictor for lower physical HRQOL reported by the parents(β[95%CI]:−0.82[−1.52,−0.13]).Higher socioeconomic status was a predictor of both physical and psychosocial HRQOL(β[95%CI]:0.018[0.001,0.034]and 0.012[0.0001,0.04],respectively).Conclusions:Successful total repair was a predictor of higher physical HRQOL,and younger age during MBTS surgery was a predictor of higher psychological HRQOL in children with cyanotic heart disease.Higher socioeconomic status was a predictor of both physical and psychological HRQOL following total repair[Thai Clinical Trials Registry:TCTR20161221003]. | Jutarat Tanasansuttiporn Maliwan Oofuvong Wirat Wasinwong Voravit Chittithavorn Pongsanae Duangpakdee Jirayut Jarutach Qistina Yunuswangsa | 2022 | Congenital Heart Disease2022，17，3： | 0 |
| 10 | Transgenic technologies in cassava for nutritional improvement and viral disease resistance: a key strategy for food security in Africa显示文摘As a major staple food source in Africa and other tropical developing countries, cassava(Manihot esculenta) provides basic sustenance for many subsistence farmers. However, cassava roots mainly accumulate starch with limited contribution of other nutrients such as proteins and vitamins. Also, two viral diseases, cassava mosaic disease(CMD) and cassava brown streak disease(CBSD), cause great losses in cassava production in subSaharan Africa and the Indian sub-continent. Genetic engineering provides promising approaches to improve nutritional value and increase resistance to viral diseases in cassava. This report presents several successful case studies on engineering protein content by overexpression of nutritious storage proteins and improving cassava resistance to viral diseases by RNA interference. | 13 | Preoperative Fasting of More Than 14 Hours Increases the Risk of Time-to-Death after Cardiothoracic Surgery in Children:A Retrospective Cohort Study显示文摘Background:Prolonged preoperative fasting can cause hypoglycemia,hyperglycemia,and intravascular volume depletion in children.We aimed to examine whether prolonged preoperative fasting is associated with in-hospital mortality and other morbidities in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.Methods:This retrospective cohort study included children aged 0–3 years who underwent cardiac surgery between July 2014 and October 2020.The patient demographic data,surgery-related and anesthesia-related factors,and postoperative outcomes,including hypoglycemia,hyperglycemia,sepsis,length of intensive care unit stay,and in-hospital mortality,were recorded.The main exposure and outcome variables were prolonged fasting and time-to-death after surgery,respectively.The associations between prolonged fasting and perioperative death were analyzed using multivariate Cox regression analysis.Results:In total,402 patients were recruited.The incidence of perioperative mortality was 21%(85/402).The proportion of perioperative deaths was significantly higher in the prolonged fasting group than that in the normal fasting group.The proportion of postoperative bacteremia and hypoglycemia was significantly higher in the very prolonged fasting group than that in the prolonged fasting group.After adjusting for preoperative conditions and anesthesia-and surgery-related factors,preoperative prolonged fasting>14.4 h was significantly associated with time-to-death(HR[95%CI]:2.2[1.2,3.9],p=0.036).The 30-day survival rates of fasting time>14.4 h,9.25–14.4 h,and<9.25 h were 0.67(0.55,0.81),0.79(0.72,0.87),and 0.85(0.79,0.91),respectively.Conclusions:Preoperative fasting of more than 14.4 h was associated with a two-fold increase in the hazard rate of time-to-death in children who underwent cardiac surgery. | Laortip Rattanapittayaporn Maliwan Oofuvong Jutarat Tanasansuttiporn Thavat Chanchayanon | 2023 | Congenital Heart Disease2023，18，1： | 0 |
