1Vegetation fractional coverage change in a typical oasis region in Tarim River Watershed based on remote sensing显示文摘Vegetation fractional coverage(VFC) is an important index to describe and evaluate the ecological system.The vegetation index is widely used to monitor vegetation coverage in the field of remote sensing(RS).In this paper,the author conducted a case study of the delta oasis of Weigan and Kuqa rivers,which is a typical saline area in the Tarim River Watershed.The current study was based on the TM/ETM+ images of 1989,2001,and 2006,and supported by Geographic Information System(GIS) spatial analysis,vegetation index,and dimidiate pixel model.In addition,VBSI(vegetation,bare soil and shadow indices) suitable for TM/ETM+ images,constructed with FCD(forest canopy density) model principle and put forward by ITTO(International Tropical Timber Organization),was used,and it was applied to estimate the VFC.The estimation accuracy was later proven to be up to 83.52%.Further,the study analyzed and appraised the changes in vegetation patterns and revealed a pattern of spatial change in the vegetation coverage of the study area by producing the map of VFC levels in the delta oasis.Forest,grassland,and farmland were the three main land-use types with high and extremely-high coverage,and they played an important role in maintaining the vegetation.The forest area determined the changes of the coverage area,whereas the other two land types affected the directions of change.Therefore,planting trees,protecting grasslands,reclaiming farmlands,and controlling unused lands should be included in a long-term program because of their importance in keeping regional vegetation coverage.Finally,the dynamic variation of VFC in the study area was evaluated according to the quantity and spatial distribution rendered by plant cover digital images to deeply analyze the reason behind the variation.Fei ZHANG Tashpolat TIYIP JianLi DING Mamat SAWUT Verner Carl JOHNSON NigaraTASHPOLAT DongWei GUI 2013Journal of Arid Land2013,5,1:12

3Self-templated nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon decorated with double transition-metal active sites for enhanced oxygen electrode catalysis显示文摘The development of high-performance,low-cost bifunctional catalysts with long-term stability for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is one of the most critical challenges for the large-scale application of metal-air batteries.Herein,we report an advanced nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon(NMC)composite(NiCo2O4/CoNx-NMC)formed from a mixture of Co-and Ni-hydroxide-infiltrated phenolic resin and melamine resin.This composite exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity,stability,and selectivity for the ORR and OER.The activity parameter(DE),which is an indicator of the overall catalytic activity of bifunctional catalysts,was 0.76 V for NiCo2O4/CoNx-NMC.Therefore,catalyst outperforms the majority of previously reported non-precious metal-based bifunctional electrocatalysts.The remarkable ultra-high catalytic performance of NiCo2O4/CoNx-NMC for the ORR and OER can be attributed to the presence of different active sites of the CoNx structure and the formation of NiCo2O4 with the spinel structure,which was obtained by a stepwise pyrolysis process.This synthesis strategy opens a new avenue for the rational design of highly active bifunctional electrocatalysts.Meng-Fei Qiao Ying Wang Lei Li Guang-Zhi Hu Guo-An Zou Xamxikamar Mamat Ye-Min Dong Xun Hu 2020Rare Metals2020,39,7:6

5Surfactant-decorated graphite nanoplatelets(GNPs) reinforced aluminum nanocomposites: sintering effects on hardness and wear显示文摘The exceptional properties of graphene make it ideal as a reinforcement to enhance the properties of aluminum matrices and this critically depends on uniform dispersion. In this study, the dispersion issue was addressed by sonication and non-covalent surface functionalization of graphite nanoplatelets(GNPs) using two types of surfactant: anionic(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfate(SDBS)) and non-ionic polymeric(ethyl cellulose(EC)). After colloidal mixing with Al powder, consolidation was performed at two sintering temperatures(550 and 620°C). The structure, density, mechanical and wear properties of the nanocomposite samples were investigated and compared with a pure Al and a pure GNPs/Al nanocomposite sample. Noticeably, EC-based 0.5 wt% GNPs/Al samples showed the highest increment of 31% increase in hardness with reduced wear rate of 98.25% at 620°C, while a 22% increase in hardness with reduced wear rate of 96.98% at 550°C was observed, as compared to pure Al.
